Holy meat heaven! You know what I ordered here? The WHOLE BEAST. No joke!

My boyfriend and I heard rumors of this heavenly place and took a cab to go find it. We raced there to make sure we weren't going to miss them (they closed at 4pm on this day) and as soon as we got in the door we looked around and pretty much ordered a little but of everything.

The salamis and cured meats are spectacular, the selection is out of this world, the head cheeses are tasty, and the liverwurst and mortadella blew my mind. We had the meat sweats for days because we took everything back to our hotel, wrapped it in baguettes and cheese and just ate forever. It was pretty ridiculous but we couldn't have it any other way. Customs wouldn't let us take it back across the border, and we couldn't wait long enough anyway. Best money I've spent in Victoria, hands down.

Do not miss this store if you're looking to host a party, have a great dinner, or impress someone with with a locally made meat-gift! I don't think I have to go overboard next time but I don't think I could visit Victoria again and not come back for more meat.

How have I taken so long to discover this amazing place? Okay, it is my strong aversion to passing through the tweed curtain after having lived in Oak Bay for long enough to never want to grace its streets again. Now after having tried a variety of sausages, salamis and other cured meats from there I will cross the line to come here. Choux Choux was my favourite spot for cured meats and sausages in Victoria, but it has been soundly knocked out of that spot by these guys. I will be back very, very soon.

I believe it is one of the best meat shop in town, they carry very good quality meat and a lot of choices.

Amazing charcuterie, the n'duja spreadable salami is one of the best things I have ever tried!

The BBQ pork is out of this world! Have been in there several times and the service has been a grumpy unsmiling guy who clearly does not want to be serving customers (hence the 3 stras) and is bothered by them - fortunately last week went in for my BBQ pork fix and a really awesome and friendly young man helped me out - looks like the service is on the improve and I will see and hopefully update this review to 4 stars if it continues

Amazing Duck Liver pate + Chicken liver pate - oh my god!!!!. Amazing selection of cured salamis. Normally I hold out until I can go to Granville Island - but The Whole Beast selection is top of the line and seriously as good as Oyama Sausages' better selections. Way to go vancouver island. We dont need to leave the island! The service is great - these guys know their products and are efficient. Way to go!

We buy chicken liver pate, sausages and cured meats here and absolutely love it. Feel blessed that it's here in Victoria - healthy meat at good prices, and knowledgable staff who take the time to make sure you get what you want.
