This and That Handyman

I had called this company about 1-2 weeks ago for a broken pvc pipe that our business had. He answered when I called and came out the same day to take a look at the pipes. He stated that he would shut the water off so we won't keep losing water an will be back the next day to fix the issue. Not only did he not shut the water off, he didn't show back up to do the work. I called the day after he was suppose to show to see if he had forgotten or needed to reschedule and left a message asking for a return call.

Here we are almost 2 weeks later and still didn't receive a call back to apologize for not showing up. I thought that contractors were in business because of the customer's and not the other way around. Not a good way to conduct your business and not fair to leave your customer's in limbo.

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not use This and That Handyman for any major repairs or construction. If you need painting or any non electrical or non plumbing repairs they are fine. Do not have them do any electrical, plumbing or major construction. Juan the owner will cut corners and do a Mickey Mouse job! I had to pay someone to redo what I paid him to do! He told me to read the fine print that he wasn't licensed. I stated that has nothing to do with doing faulty work. If you're not qualified don't take the job. In addition his estimate was a joke. I ended up paying over double his original estimate and when I went to sell my house this year I had to hire another contractor (licensed this time) to repair his work. Beware of using them for ANY major repairs . I have plenty of documentation and pictures and I am more than happy to share. I contacted him to get some of my thousands of dollars back and he gave me $400 only!! Due to that I've decided to write this long over due review.Save yourself some money and stay away and find another contractor.

Juan is a super-handyman! He has helped us with everything from moving, electrical work, plumbing, insulation, furniture assembly, painting - he is an all-around super handyman and we highly recommend him!

I scheduled an appointment with Juan and he simply did not show up, didn't bother to inform me, returning my call, or text. A total disappointment!

I had a 100 foot fence and retaining wall that needed to be completely replaced on a hillside. Juan gave me a bid; then the job became more complicated as they began to demolish the old form. The short of it is that it required two more days of work and was more expensive. I felt Juan kept pretty close to his original bid, helped me get a discount on materials, didn't add anything on top of materials and did a good job. Little things that came up he did not quibble with and just took care of them. He did the job in a timely way and I am very happy with the price and the work. I would hire him again.

We had a great experience working with Juan. He was thoroughly professional, reliable and did quality work on a variety of projects: a little plumbing, a little electrical, a small tiling job and a major fence repair. His fees were more than reasonable. We would definitely call him again for anything that needs fixing around the house.

I had approximately 90 feet of French Drain with a Sump Pump installed in September 2016 due to a drainage issue I was having at my house. But I had a lot of problems finding someone who knew how to properly install a french drain. Then when I did find a competent contractor, they wanted an absolutely ridiculous price. One of the last bids I got was from Juan and Marvin. They gave me a bid considerably less than the other bids I received but just as important, they gave me confidence in their step by step explanation of how they would install the french drain and the materials they would use. I could tell that both these guys knew what they were doing. Several rain storms have occurred since the installation of the french drain and sump pump and my drainage problems have been completely eliminated. The installation was completed in 3-4 days as promised. I found Juan and Marvin to both be very polite guys who always answered my questions in a patient and polite manner. They also made sure that I was completely satisfied with the results before ending the job. I feel confident in recommending them for any French Drain and Sump Pump installation.
