YALL THIS PLACE SERVES SUCH HIGH QUALITY FOOD, I've never visited the restaurant personally before but I ALWAYS order takeout from here and it never disappoints! The meat is so juicy and tender, the falafels are crispy, flavorful and a great size, and the veggie platter is a MUST!!

Came here with my friends to celebrate the end of our rotation. The restaurant is on the smaller side but the servers make you feel at home. They were very attentive and always came back to check in on us!

I ordered the kofta kebab wrap and it was very good! They didn't skimp out on the meat and it was well balanced with the veggies and sauce. I should have gotten it with a salad but opted for the fries for a little treat for the week

My friends ordered the beef shawarma and falafel wrap. They both really enjoyed dining here today and we got would definitely come back. I was pleased that they had a few vegan options to offer which makes this place an easy recommendation.

If you're in San Leandro and craving some Mediterranean food, this is definitely a place that will satisfy your craving!

The service is great, very attentive. They remember their customers which means a lot. The food has the right amount of spice, the portions are just perfect.
The restaurant is a little small based on the business they have (it would be awesome if the could expand) but it's still cozy enough where you feel comfortable eating.

We have gone back several times and will continue to go back.

I tried the chicken shawarma salad and loved it! The dressing was lemony and the tzatziki sauce was smooth and yummy. Portion size was also just right.

Service was good and there was plenty of street parking and avail le seating in a weekday. Staff were also very friendly.

      1 check-in

I'd like to preface by saying the food this visit deserved 4 stars and the initial service by our female service was 2 stars, so I settled on 3 stars for the total experience.

      Order:
      Turkish Coffee - EXCELLENT
      Mint Tea - Delicious
      Chicken Biryani - EXCELLENT
      Tepsi - EXCELLENT

      Pros:
      1. The food was DELICIOUS and portioned nicely.
      2. The Turkish Coffee & Mint Tea were quality.
      3. The gentleman that looked like he was either the Manager or Owner checked on everyone constantly and refreshed beverages consistently.

      Cons:
      1. I ordered a side of yogurt sauce 3x and my server forgot all 3x.
      2. I ordered Mint Tea and had to remind the server 2x before receiving it.
      3. We had no silverware, had to ask my server for that 2x as well.
      4. Server seemed EXTREMELY overwhelmed but saw them on their cell phone A LOT.
      5. Couldn't order dessert because our server just stopped coming to our table.

Eventually, we just wanted our check so we could leave...

      Pro Tip:
We saw many to go orders. My suggestion is to order to go/pick up or through DD because the food is excellent! I personally would not dine in again based on the experience.

But please, TRY THE TEPSI W/KOFTA - SOOOOOOOO GOOD!

      Tepsi w/Kofta - effing delicious!

We were here nine days ago for the first time. Now we're going to start making up for lost time.

We arrived at about 11:45. I think that there were three tables in use. Our timing was great because the lunch crowd came in shortly after us.

We started with a Veggie Sampler - 5. I may just start coming in by myself just to have this for lunch. Every component of this dish is on the money! The Falafel are the best that I've ever had, not that I'm an expert at Falafel. But these look hard fried and are not. Soft and fluffy inside, piping hot from the kitchen. Hummus, Babaghanouge, Tabouli, Salad and wedges of Pita round out the Sampler.

She got a Tepsi with Kufta - 5 - Seasoned Ground Beef and Lamb in a absolutely wonderful sauce served with Yellow Basmati Rice.

I got the same as last time - 5 - Chicken and Lamb Combo with Yellow Basmati Rice and Salad.

No, we did not pig out and finish our lunches. Not quite half, the rest went home with us for later.

The folks running the restaurant were just as friendly as they were last time. They even presented us with a gift of Homemade Baklava to take home.

Here's to their continued success so that we can keep dining here!

Some super really high points and some low points.

Highs: some of the best skewers I've ever had in my life (I got chicken & steak). Dead stop. Hands down. Completely impossibly tender & flavorful & succulent. Also maybe the best falafel I've ever had in my life? Really crispy and really moist on the inside. Really well done. The rest of the appetizer was pretty average.

Lows: the bread that came with the entree was downright inedible. I swapped it out for more pita. I don't know how to quite describe it but it was like really dry and impossible to swallow. The dessert was really really bad. Tasted like a store-bought brownie from Safeway. This is what prevents the five stars.

This quaint little spot on E. 14th in San Leandro has a nice welcoming atmosphere. With a full menu of all the Mediterranean delights, I went for maximum reach on tasting the most amount of flavors with just a few dishes.

We started with the vegetable appetizer which is worth every penny and is so large the two of us could of stopped with that. Large servings of buttery, creamy hummus topped with fried chick peas added the perfect crunch contrast to this delicious pits popping hummus.

The Tabouli and Babaghanoush were fantastic, bursting with flavor and the perfect combo on a nice fluffy warm pita bread stuffed with some of the best Falafel I have had. The crispy outer shell holds together the bright green center of soft and airy deliciousness. Like eating crispy pillow that won't weigh you down or feel too thick and heavy.

If that were not enough we also had to try a beef shawarma wrap and glad we did. That crispy outer flatbread wrapped around a healthy serving of sliced beef was amazing. The Tahini and other flavors all came together perfectly.

The service from Tio 1 (there are two Tio's here) and the "nephew" was fantastic. Huge smiles, happy to be here.

This will be my new go to place for Mediterranean

      5 Stars all the way.

Tio's Mediterranean Grill is a small, but intimate restaurant in San Leandro. I have passed it without noticing it many times until my friend recommended it!

5 stars to the falafel! I've never had falafels in the Bay Area like the ones at Tio's. The crunchy shell with the moist inside brought me back to the falafels that I had in Europe. This was my favorite item today! I highly recommend these!

For my entree, I got the chicken shawarma wrap with a side salad. It was a solid wrap and the portion size was very generous! In addition, my party also shared the veggie sampler and the baklava. Both did not disappoint, but if I could pick one, I would pick the baklava!

Tio's is a great little spot in San Leandro. The staff was very attentive and food arrives quickly after ordering! It can get crowded because of the small space, but it's definitely worth trying (especially the falafels!).
