TJC Automotive Mobile Mechanic

I am reluctantly writing this review. I bought a jeep Cherokee which I had multiple issues with I'm new to the area so I asked yelp for mechanics in the area with good ratings. Richard got back to me and after a long discussion over the phone i.e. was very clear what I needed done to my truck so I can find out what exactly was wrong he showed up the next day like he said he was going to very polite very well spoken I have to say a nice guy. However he did not do what I asked I needed a simple block test he just poured water in my radiator and was looking at the suds and why it was foaming but he still did not do the simple task that I asked. I wanted to make sure that I did not have any damage to my engine anyhow after about six bottles of water which he kept telling me I was losing in the radiator but meanwhile it was falling out all over the street he told me that I had a blown head gasket I needed new heads he needed to change my radiator and my water pump. He charged me $80 and then told me that my truck was probably worth about $1500.He informed me very clearly that if he did the job it would cost me about $3500-$4000 to fix. I was very taken back at what was going on and I gave him the money and just wanted him to leave. What I should've did in the beginning is what I finally did I drove down to my local service station I told them what happened the owner came over to me when he heard the story and he got me right into the bay they did a block test on my truck and what ultimately happened. Yes my water pump was going and I had a clog in the system but my engine was 100% in perfect condition they actually told me that it had full pressure after they looked further and they told me that somebody must have done some work to the engine and cleared and replaced some of the fuel injectors. I was looking to sell the truck and I actually sold it to one of the mechanics at the garage. I know this is hard to follow my review but this is a person who should admit his limitations and do what he knows how to do. Very nice person a really good guy I think just in over his head and I think he couldn't fix my truck so he tried to scare me away. Very unhappy and I hope people read this
