Tortilla Real

In sf down the street from me there is a really good taqueria, but my 5 stars for them is really 6-7 out of 10 to be honest. I rarely come to petaluma, but i thank my lucky stars i went on to yelp and found tortilla real. This was THE best burrito i have had since cabo san lucas. I love little chihuahua in sf but this plays blows away any mexican ive had there. The cashier was really awesome as well. If you are reading this please check this place and prove me wrong.

The fish tacos are excellent! They are served a la carte, but I ordered one fish and one shrimp. The size and sauce is just right. The salsa that comes with the chips is a bit spicy, but this is pretty authentic Mexican food.

Be aware that their Margaritas are made with "sake infused tequila" because they don't have a full liquor license. It's a refreshing drink, but it's not quite a margarita without the tequila.

The food wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. As the other reviews said the service was the main problem here. We were there for happy hour and was told that we were too late. Which was a lie. Portions were super small. Even for happy hour. It being in a great area did not make up for what this place lacked.

Service was slooooooow. We were one of two tables there in the mid-afternoon. Three people total between the two tables. We were greeted and seated quickly, asked for water to drink, and then waited about 10 minutes before we received the water or any interaction with our server. There was no apology for the wait. After our food was delivered (which happened reasonably quickly), our server never came back to check on us for about 15 minutes. As we were seated outside, it was not easy to see where our server was or gain her attention.

Food was just fine. Chips were stale. Breakfast tacos were great but chicken burrito was mostly rice and beans without much flavor.

We would not return.

Authentic Mexican food and the staff is so friendly! Great and very clean place and the infused margaritas are the best!!!

We love this great spot. It's a sweet location and atmosphere. The patio is lovely. Tonight we did happy hour. My hubby loves the fish burrito and it was especially great tonight the different flavors of the rice beans and salsa dovetail into a sumptuous mix. I had tacos of soy chorizo and vegetable mix. Both superb tonight. These are happy hour small street tacos in very delicate thin tortillas. Flavor BING!

We both had a guava drink that was light, not sweet and refreshing.

Go have a nice meal. Super healthy or indulgent or in between!

A true gem of petaluma. Authentic, delicious, and friendly service. The home made tortillas are the heart of the menu. I love that all items are made using fresh ingredients. In addition to the all day menu they offer a vegan/ vegetarian menu.
Staff is super friendly and attentive.
Save room for dessert!

I love the plant based menu. Food is great and they are usually pretty quick. I love the tacos, black beans with avocado and of course the handmade tortillas!

Unfortunately my experience was underwhelming. Very dark and cold.

I asked for water that never came, the Passionfruit Margarita was very tangy and I had to flag down someone to get a second (I hate doing this) even though we were the only table there with multiple waitstaff. The lime that came with was dry and for decoration only.

The Bean Dumplings were so overpowered by cilantro it was all we could taste, they were also hard and dry.

Chicken Tacos were almost all onions and dripping with pico de gallo.

The Pumpkin soup (seasonal) was awesome. Thick, great le crema, and crunchy pepitas!!! Also the ciabatta toast points that came with it were perfect. They were perfect for dipping.

Everything came out at the same time, so it was hard to enjoy anything in order and warm.

Had lunch at Tortilla Real. Started with the chicharones and the chips and salsa that they brought to our table. My friend ordered the esquite and salad. I tried the esquite and it was tasty. It's different from what you would buy on the street. It had more ingredients. For my meal, I had the pumpkin soup. I was nervous, but curious enough to try it. It was delicious. The chicharones were very good. They serve it with fresh salsa and pico de gallo.

Our server was attentive, friendly and nice.

The atmosphere was lively. I like the decor and openness of the restaurant. It definitely keeps you coming back for more.
