Tortilleria El Molino

Tortilleria El Molino in Concord has been a game-changer for me. Living in the city, I got spoiled by the incredible burritos from the Mission District, and since moving to the East Bay, I've struggled to find anything that comes close. That was until I discovered Tortilleria El Molino. Their burrito de Carnitas, served just the way it comes, is an absolute delight and only $11!

This burrito is hands down the best I've found in Concord, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Martinez, Pittsburg, Antioch, and even Brentwood. The flavors are spot on, with tender, juicy carnitas and perfectly balanced ingredients. It's a burrito worth traveling for, and I'm super pumped to have found this gem. If you're in the East Bay and craving a top-notch burrito, Tortilleria El Molino is definitely the place to go.

I found this place when I first came to town about 5 years ago. I've had more breakfast burritos here than I can count. I've introduced three of my friends to this place. The pics attached to this review are just some of the few that I've taken in the last few months.

I used to come here about every 2-3 weeks but about 2 months ago I stopped coming in. I called ahead and tried to order my breakfast burrito so I can just go in and pick them up in ~15 minutes, as I always have in the past.

I called, they picked up, no greeting just "please hold." I was on hold for 2-3 minutes, hung up, called back a minute later, "please hold." I was on hold for a minute, hung up, called back after minute, "please hold."

Given how many times I've eaten there over the last 5 years I'm probably being overly harsh in not going back but I don't like feeling dismissed or not valued or ignored or whatever it is that happened this last time.

Maybe when I'm back in town I'll go back but I haven't decided that for certain yet.

They make their own tortillas, all their food is always hot and always good.

The staff is always friendly and usually efficient.

I've just decided, once I get back in town, I'll go back. If it's good, I'll remove this review or amend it, if it's bad, I'll never go back and look for another place for my breakfast burritos.

It's California, there are plenty of options.

I love the taco Dorados chips and guacamole.

Service is good

Ambiance is pleasant

I have bought food to eat at the few tables outdoors and also picked up large catering. So I think it is the best taqueria in the area.

Accidentally came here to buy regular Tortilla's but ended up getting some food to try!

Got the Tacos Dorados and Pupusa. Never had the Dorados but knew it was a crunchy taco with Potato & Beef and I was fine with it along with lettuce, tomato, salsa and cheese.

Next the Pupusa, I should've had on the spot but very impressed at how sturdy and stuffed it was on the 40 min drive home. Threw on the green salsa and curtido and it was packed with flavor!

Def need to come here during lunch with some coworkers next time.

Great food for great price. Got the torta ahogada and crispy taco combo. Will definitely return to try other items.

I tried to call in an order and they put me on hold for 10 minutes and during the 10 minutes I can hear them talking and laughing and they never got back to me. I called a second time and they put me on hold again and when they got back to me they said they aren't taking service. Last time I was here, the food was good. The service not so much. So instead, we went to Tacos El Patron.

Food is great, came and ordered tacos, we ate there bought a tub of salsa and chips as well, while eating my tacos, I needed more lemon since they were carnitas tacos and the small 1/8 of the lemon was not enough, went to the lady by the juices, and bionicos station to ask for another Piece of lemon and and she had the nerve to question what I had bought and after
Telling her I bought tacos she said you should have gotten some lemon with them, I said yes I did and it was not enough, I mean it's not like I was asking for another taco it was a piece of lemon! How cheap is this lady to be so stingy with a piece of lemon??? I will think twice before coming here again thanks to that lady, not willing to give me a piece of lemon without questioning what I had bought and being rude about it..... was that coming out of her paycheck or what !!!??

El Molino has the best carnitas. We order it by the pound, along with salsa, "salad" (it's more like [or possibly is?] curtido, but "salad" is how we've always ordered it), guac, beans, rice, tortillas, and chips. Even though prices have gone up in the many years since we've been coming here, it's still pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get.

The carnitas are always tender and juicy and crispy, with the perfect amount of fat. The salsa and salad are a tasty and refreshing addition to cut the heaviness of the meat. You can get like 500 (corn) tortillas for like $5. (Ok, that's an exaggeration--but barely.) The chips are thick and crunchy and hold up well to dipping or turning into nachos.

This is a place that's worth going out of your way for!

The carnitas here are amazing! The tortas ahogadas with a side of tacos dorados de paps are the bomb! Service is quick wich great! Highly recommend this spot don't forget to try the Gorditas de chicharrón you won't be disappointed.
