The food here is always amazing. Love the black cod, fried chicken, nigiri combo, ice cream, and sashimi. We also tried the Uni from Japan for $13, regular Uni was out of season. The Uni from Japan was small but creamier and more delicate in flavor than regular. I would just order the regular when in season. The black cod is our fav.

Probably the best sushi and sashimi I've had in the United States. I won't compare it to sushi in Japan but yeah it's damn good and fresh.
There was a wait but it was worth it.
The uni was so good that was definitely the high light of my meal.
I chose less rice on some of my sushi pieces since my gut can't handle too much rice and they were fine with this, Rdawg refused to order it for me. It's okay they won't kick you out geez.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Maisie P.Johnson Creek, WI066Aug 13, 2024
This was our favorite meal on the whole west coast! Exterior is lowkey and settled within a cute residential neighborhood. We were immediately welcomed upon walking in and wrote our name on the waitlist on the door. Heard there's usually a long line, but we were fortunate in a Friday to make it in upon arrival. Sushi was soft and fresh, beautifully paired with sauces and veggies. Waitress explained food in length and made us comfortable to ask questions and try new items!! We loved everything we ordered and were thrilled at the reasonable cost at the end. Perfect sushi stop for families and those looking for high-end sushi in a relaxed and cheerful environment. This was exactly what we were looking for in Vancouver!

Definitely waited at least 45min- 1 hour but it is one of those places worth eating at!
The host and servers are really nice and they seem to know regulars by name.
I am not a sushi lover but found ones that I enjoyed!! It was very tasty!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Bill T.Colorado Springs, CO1361Jul 6, 2024
Stopped for lunch in for the day from out of town. Quick and delicious. Limited lunch menu, but that was OK because it was well done. Very friendly family feel.

A friend suggested going to Toshi for dinner on a Saturday during the May heat wave. I was a bit apprehensive as my friend wouldn't be available until 5:30pm and there are always line ups outside the restaurant. We were lucky to score free (shaded) parking about 2 blocks away from the restaurant and one of the people outside waiting advised us how to put our names on the sign up sheet. There were at least 5 names before ours but our name was called after 5 minutes. We were pleasantly surprised with the short wait but having only 2 people is a lot easier, as we got seated at the bar, since there is limited seating for parties larger than 2 people.
We ordered the House combo, the crunchy combo, box sushi, 2 uni nigri, and one saba nigri. The sushi was of smaller portion but was all fresh and tasty. We left feeling just satisfied and split the bill - about $31 plus tips each. Unfortunately, they only sell ice cream by the pint so we decided to head to Earnest for dessert instead.
Toshi has been around for a long time and has consistently kept up their quality of food and service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 28, 2021Previous reviewMy friend suggested Toshi Sushi and we tried getting takeout from there on New Year's Eve but by 6pm they were no longer taking any orders for the night. It has been years since I last went to Toshi but I recently got an Uber Eats gift card for the Holidays and decided to place an order.
Ordering through Uber Eats was easy but the Toshi menu was a bit limited via Uber - there were rice bowls, sashimi, a few appetizers, and combos available to order but you couldn't order any single sushi rolls. I ordered the Box sushi and the House combo. Just for the food, excluding any taxes or delivery fees and tips, it came out to $32.
Box sushi was interesting with scallop, shrimp, salmon, and thinly cut lemon on pressed rice. It was fresh and tasty but a bit pricey at 6 pieces for $10 for how much fish you get.
House combo came with 6 pieces of sashimi, a house roll, and a tuna Maki roll for $22. Sashimi was a nice size and was fresh. The house roll was basically a dynamite roll with avocado slices and tobiko on top. I only really enjoyed the sashimi - the house roll and tuna Maki roll was just average.
I was hungry and was able to finish the entire box sushi and house combo with no problem. Sushi was fresh and good quality but nothing outstanding. For the $32 price tag, without taxes or tips, there is probably a reason why I haven't gone back to Toshi all these years. - Aug 21, 2023
Delicious spot! A rotating stream of customers coming in, and you have to put your name on the waiting list in person. Fish was so fresh and I love that they have a limited selection menu - encourages you to try new and different items. My favourite items were the blue fin negitoro roll and box sushi! The shop itself is small but cozy. I will be back to try their handmade icecream!

I'm sure this place is great for fish, but for veggie sushi, this place is real lacklustre.
We did a pick-up order one evening and was quoted half an hour for it to be ready. They delivered on that. We ordered:
-Soy sheet veggie roll (x2): $4.75/roll. This comes with a thin green sheet of soy sheet that is rather tasteless but I guess is more interesting than without it. The interior is pretty lame: mostly cucumber, some carrot, and a hint of lettuce. One of the least inspired veggie rolls in the city. Lame. 2.5/5
-Avocado roll (x2; this normally comes with mayo, so, if vegan like us, ask for it without): $5.50/roll. Very standard run-of-the-mill avocado roll. Fine. 3/5
-Kampyo roll: $3.75/roll. Nice texture to the sweet gourd, but otherwise pretty standard. 3/5
-Inari (x3): $2.50/pc. On the small side, but perfectly acceptable and served the exact way that a hundred other places do. Standard. 3/5
-Wakame ($5.75). Standard seaweed salad that you'd buy a big carton of from a grocery store. Fine but nothing special here. 2.5/5
All in all, not a good spot for veggie sushi. If nearby and seeking veggie sushi, go to one of the many other sushi spots in this neighbourhood (recommended: Sushi Mania).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Oct 16, 2023
Was recommended by a friend to try Toshi and glad we did. The sushi is super fresh and the price is very reasonable. The wait was not too long, we were a party of four and waited around 15-20 minutes. Would definitely come back and try the grilled food next time.

Excellent sushi! The quality was top notch!
We came here with friends and ordered a variety of sashimi, nigiri, sushi rolls and other small plates.
The highlights were:
Agedashi tofu - truly one of the best tofu I've had
All the sashimi/nigiri: especially tuna and scallop
Baked eggplant - perfect sweetness to end the meal with
Food and drinks were super well priced and we loved it all. Looking forward to coming back here!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
