Toyosu in Walnut Creek is a premier destination for sushi enthusiasts seeking an extraordinary dining experience. Specializing in Omakase and sashimi, Toyosu also offers a variety of fresh fish cuts and delectable rolls like the Lion King Roll and the Pacific Roll with spicy tuna.

Although it's a pricey establishment, the quality of the food justifies the cost. The fish is incredibly fresh, with flavors that transport you straight to the ocean. Each sushi roll is meticulously crafted, bursting with taste and beautifully presented. The Lion King Roll and the Pacific Roll are standouts, with the perfect balance of flavors and textures.

If you appreciate top-notch sushi and don't mind splurging for an exceptional meal, Toyosu is well worth a visit. The freshness of the fish and the overall quality of the dishes make it a standout choice in Walnut Creek's dining scene. Highly recommended for sushi aficionados!

One of the better sushi spots I've been to recently. They have a good variety of well-made rolls, but what got me thinking about coming back were the more sophisticated items on the menu - this is a spot with uni, ika, wagyu, and caviar if that's what you're looking for in the area (it's been a bit difficult for me ever since the owners of my fav spot moved states a few years back).

I thoroughly enjoyed everything we had and will definitely return soon. The only thing I didn't love was the dessert, but I'd still be open to trying another one next time I'm in. Keep up the good work!

My friend has been trying to take me here for years. Finally we made it happen! Everything was great... except the parking ticket but anyways...

Intimate seating, great quality of sushi, and very attentive service.

I cannot wait to go again!

Another lovely lunch at Toyosu. Our go to spot for sushi, especially after our daughter's swim lessons nearby at American Swim Academy on Saturday mornings. Rainbow is an attentive server and the fish is fresh and on point. The prices are fair for what you get and I really love the wide selection of the menu. The desserts and alcohol beverage selection is good too. Wish I lived closer to come here for dinner and drinks!

Wonderful birthday lunch celebration at this Walnut Creek Japanese restaurant!

The decor was clean, bright and had a modern Japanese bistro feel, with nice wooden tables. The hostess and servers were excellent and ensured all of our needs were met throughout lunch.

We started with the hamachi shotto which combined rich hamachi pieces mixed with buttery avocado, jalepeno, and caviar. We next shared the amazing premium omakase nigiri platter which included 10 pieces of nigiri per the chef's choice of the best fish that day. All of the nigiri were presented beautifully and included tasty combinations. This was complemented by two different rolls -- one filled with spicy tuna and the other being the Sake Honey roll which included shrimp tempura and spicy tuna topped with succulent seared salmon and topped with a spicy mayo and tobiko. Both were outstanding as was the hot green tea we had with the meal.

The finishing touch was a birthday slice of fluffy cheesecake!

Everything was delicious and service was great.
Prices are on the higher side but quality makes up for it. We'll be back!

Score! Forgot to finish my review from the last time I dined here, but it's been so long that I forgot I've been here before- sorry people, my brain doesn't operate the way it used to! Came here for my son's birthday since he was craving sushi. For appetizers, we chose shishito peppers and edamame both with truffle salt. We then shared a 10-piece omakase nigiri and the sake honey roll. My sons ordered a rainbow roll and the birthday boy had an udon soup with tempura that came with it. All were so delicious- though I can't speak for the rainbow roll since I didn't try it. But my son wolfed it down and still wanted some of my sake honey roll, which I wanted to gatekeep, but I felt like a generous mom.

I was sitting across the wall that had the specialties and there was the seared toro with uni that kept catching my eye. It wasn't my birthday but shit, I figured I'm paying so why not. It was $28 for 2 pieces, which my son the birthday boy kept repeating as if we were being careless with money. Good boy, but there's gonna times where money is less important than experiences!
Since there were only two pieces, I wanted to share and savor every single little bite with the boys. The rice was falling apart after doing a quick dip in the soy sauce. But the delicate pieces were heavenly as soon as it arrived in my mouth. The toro was smooth and buttery as was the uni, fresh and delicate. Ugh, just thinking of it makes my mouth water.

The vibe was nice and low key. The service was friendly and attentive. Thank you, Toyosu.

Toyosu is a great spot for high quality sushi in the Walnut Creek area. My friend and I decided to share an Agedashi Tofu appetizer and the Premium Omakase Sashimi. This was definitely enough food for two people.

The Agedashi Tofu was very soft and flavorful in the soy marinade. It was a great introductory appetizer for the Premium Omakase Sashimi. The Premium Omakase Sashimi included high quality pieces of fish, including Otoro and Uni. Each piece was unique and was an experience on its own. The most memorable piece for me was the Otoro, since it melted in your mouth like butter.

Overall, the service and ambiance was great as well. I would definitely come back to try their other items!

Cozy higher-end sushi place in Walnut Creek! The fish quality was really great. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Nigiri Omakase and thought that it could have been more interesting / flavorful. BUT the Pacific Roll and Wagyu Tatami were both amazing. Would definitely come back to try more appetizers and rolls.

      Overpriced for what you get.

We were going to be in the area for my bf's birthday and I thought Omakase would be nice, as it's one of his favorites. I knew I was chancing it since they don't take reservations. So on Friday, we made it a point to arrive early.

We arrived right at their 5pm opening and were seated indoors by the window immediately. The area was swarming with insects: flies, mosquitos, probably some other things and the windowsill could have used a good cleaning. Kinda of a turn off. If that's what the front of the house looks like, what's going on in the back?

I know restaurants also can't help who their clientele is, but there was a family of four with a baby screaming his or her head off the entire duration of the meal, which did not add to the ambiance either. Maybe this could have been avoided with later dining times.

      We ordered the following:
      - Hamachi shotto ($24): Three hamachi shots, which really was diced up hamachi, avocado and tobiko in a shot glass. Meh.
      - Wagyu beef with gold flakes ($30): Tender beef, slightly flame kissed with the torch. Good, but worth $15 a piece? Maybe not.
      - Wild black cod yuzuyaki ($28): Three measly pieces. Did not have any hint of yuzu in it, although I suppose yuzu could be subtle.
      - Premium Omakase nigiri ($65): BF said it was fresh, but "ok".

The bill was just shy of $200 for the two of us, including tip, no drinks. I actually was still hungry after this meal too and I'm not a big eater.
