Tucked inside Alameda South Shore Center, this wonderful restaurant boasts ample indoor and outdoor seating where meals are meant to be enjoyed at leisure.

      Food reviews:

Insalata Bistecchina (5/5): arugula salad with medium rare steak paired well with all the other ingredients like couscous, raisins and sliced avocado.

Lasagna (5/5): great lasagna with to-die-for bolognese sauce that was mopped clean with bread.

Margherita pizza (with spicy sausage add-on) (5/5): Freshly baked thin crust pizza (but not too crispy) with generous basil, fior di latte, tomato sauce with the add-on spicy sausage was delicious, and generously large to share with others.

Braised short ribs with mushroom risotto (4/5): While the meat was very tender, its flavor profile was not on par with the risotto, which was full of mushroom flavor.

The service was attentive and excellent.

I'm shocked after visiting Trabocco tonight..
Horrible Owner behavior.. her name is Christine. She was so rude to me, she was refusing Service dog in the stroller on there patio. She asked me twice in very aggressive manner what service my dog provided?
I answer to her twice about service my dog provides, she almost was ready to check my medical records.. super disappointed experience.. never expected this kind of attitude from this establishment!!
I was shocked to know it was the owner of this restaurant, who was talking to me this way!! Food and service overall was so good! We been here before! Just very disappointed and shocked about the rude behaviour of the owner Christine! I guess chef is her husband very nice person! Sorry for this review, but it's true story.. very upsetting ..

I want to write this review because with the economy being how it is it's getting harder and harder to afford going out to eat. Trabocco is considered one of the best restaurants in Alameda, so I was quite disappointed to spend $100+ on a lame meal/experience.

I ate there this evening to celebrate a big event with my wife.

      - Reservation was for 6:30 PM and the table wasn't ready.
      - Ordered three generic dishes - calamari, radicchio salad, and fettucine bolognese - and it took 20 minutes for each dish to arrive, so an hour of waiting in total.
      - Calamari was OK.
      - The invernale was really missing something. It was too lightly dressed; the minimal vinaigrette couldn't fight the bitterness of the greens. It didn't taste like it was made with any love.
      - The fettucine bolognese was SO BLAND. I was excited for the housemade noodles, but this dish was missing salt, herbs, and passion. The noodles didn't mix well with the sauce, either. The bolognese didn't taste meaty enough. This was a big bummer.
      - We were sitting outside and got swarmed by mosquitos. (this isn't Trabocco's fault, but it added to the frustration).

Our aunt ate there recently and told us that her lasagna tasted sour, like it had gone rancid.

With all that said, save your hard earned money and go enjoy one of the many other wonderful restaurants Alameda has to offer. Trabocco is no longer King.

+1 star for Paolo, the waiter, who was great.

nice win collection, ok beer list. Clamari smelled super fresh, light crisp fried rings. Salads were small for the price. Mezzo e Mezzo calzone/pizza was awesome. Served with a pair of scissors! Sitting on the patio during a warm summer afternoon was perfect. The server was hard to understand with a thick accent and he's a close talker which didnt help any. Aside from him, it was a stellar experience.

      Not much to report;
Every time I go shopping in Alameda, I try to make a point to stop by this restaurant and try it out. So, today was the day I decided to have a quick lunch here in between shopping and getting my eyebrows threaded. As soon as I walked in, I felt welcome as the hostess quickly seated me. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, making recommendations for me to try. I chose the lasagna as I always judge a restaurant based on three things - the weight of the silverware, the restroom, and the dessert menu. So, I started with the lasagna which was delightful, full of spinach, and had the perfect balance of meat and sauce. The silverware was heavy and clean, and I appreciated the separate wash area which was clean and smelled like pink bubblegum. Overall, I would give this restaurant a 3 out of 5, and I would most likely return with friends or my significant other, maybe.

      What we liked:
Calamari was lightly breaded and delicious. The slices of bread served with the meal was delicious. The ice tea was fresh.

      What was mediocre:
The fruitti de mare dish here is called Spaghetti del Trabocco . It was okay, nothing to write home about. You get two shrimps, two clams, two mussels, two scallops and a baby octopus with tomato ragú .

What was a disappointment and not worth the cost at any price:
The Panino del Pollo was a HUGE disappointment. The person who ordered it took two bites and stopped. The person said the chicken was very dry, the flavor combination was not tasty and tasted like a sandwich you'd get from any mediocre sandwich shop. . For the price, you would hope the sandwich would be better quality and memorable. It was neither. The dish also came with a salad, but getting a lot of lettuce does not equate to a delicious salad. It was just a huge pile of greens

The service was slow because we were told a lot of customers suddenly came in. That's understandable, but it got annoying when we had to flag them down several times before someone came over.

Would I go back? No. The amount of money we spent was not worth it because the quality of food was either mediocre or disappointing! Only the calamari appetizer, the house bread and the tea were worth mentioning!

A Trabocco is a unique fishing pier found along the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo.
Thanks for one of the first (in my opinion) "high end" restaurants on the island!

It was GREAT seeing Nico (son) all grown up. Last time we saw him, he was in High School.

      Quality/Quantity -
Quality is good, quantity is expected for high quality food.
Quantity is enough for a meal, but do not expect leftovers.
Everything is good on the menu; my go-to items are:
Spaghetti Del Trabocco - Yes, I can be a simple person. Pastas are made in house, you can sometimes see them making it on the way to the bathroom.
Brodetto Alla Vastese - Seafood stew, when I do not mind getting messy.
Rosticceria Del Giorno - Of course, I have to get my usual ribeye.
Pizza for my daughter which comes with scissors. They have a nice pizza oven.
Decent wine list. I suggest the Montepulciano, Zaccagnini "Tralcetto," from Abruzzo, Giuseppe, hometown.

But today we got the following:
Complimentary Bread - I could eat this all day, baked fresh daily.
Gnocchi Al Pomodoro - Good, but I suggested to my guest that he should have added protein, like chicken.
Piatto Del Trabocco - Not sure if I tried this dish before, but I am a big "Frutti Di Mare" fan. And this hit the spot.

Atmosphere - Beautiful location, spent so much $$ with the remodel. Now it has much more natural light.
Added more outdoor tented heated seating; another business that benefited with additional seating due to the pandemic. And continued to expand the outdoor seating, outdoor tented seating, etc.
      Open kitchen.
      Also known for their pizzas.
Outside sinks for the bathrooms. Small note, I feel the doors need to be labeled differently.
      Plenty of mall parking.
Open 6 days a week from 11:30am to 9pm or 10pm. Closed Mondays. Yelp hours differ slightly.
Giuseppe and his wife are here almost every day, almost every minute.
Well, I didn't see the wife today, maybe she will work the dinner shift...?

Service - Excellent, the family, including their son, is very nice; good people (sorry, I have never met your daughter). The wife, Christine, usually works at the hostess booth while Giuseppe is in the kitchen expediting. He also takes a minute every hour to walk the floor greeting and talking with customers to make sure everything is okay.

Price - Above average, but that is what you get for high quality food.
      Today = $53 + generous tip.

Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2013, we have been a customer since you opened. Thanks for bringing such an upscale restaurant to our island, I really appreciate it.

Oxtail ravioli - tastes exactly like beef stew (with carrots and celery). Tastes good but tastes just like beef stew; would prefer to try new entrees in the future.
Risotto (chef's special of the day) - squid ink seafood risotto - delicious!
Blueberry panna cotta - the blueberry syrup tastes medicine-y to me (negative comment). Panna Cotta has firm texture (neutral comment). Would not order again.
      Tiramisu - good

      Drinks (both fresh fruit spritzers):
Grapefruit - fresh squeezed grapefruit with tarragon, simple syrup, soda - tastes pretty good (not insanely amazing)
Blackberry - fresh blackberries, rosemary syrup, soda, cable car lemon lime - also tastes pretty good (not insanely amazing)

      Good service

Parking - restaurant is located in a plaza, so there's a large outdoor lot
