I've always been the type of person to rent my own U-Haul and bribe my friends to help me move, but after my experience with Trek Movers, I'll never go back to trying to move by myself again.

      -- Rates & Service --
I had requested quotes from several different companies and Trek Movers had really awesome rates, but it was the service that completely won me over. When I requested a quote, I was immediately taken to an online portal that provided me an estimate based off my room size and then the website also allowed me to add my inventory to give them an even better estimate.

For my 1 bedroom townhouse, I got an estimate for 2 movers at $130/hour. They also made is very clear that there were no additional fees for the truck, miles, stairs, padding, etc.

Because this was my first time moving, I had called them before even confirming my move and Sarah was so helpful in answering all of my questions. You're even able to send them photos of your apartment and they can give you a better estimate on how many people/hours they'd recommend/estimate to move.

The day before the move, they also called to confirm everything.

      -- Day of Move --
I was given an 8am - 9am window for arrival and I got a call at 7:35am saying they'll be there in 20 minutes. Tim and Zhan arrived a few minutes before 8am and helped assess everything in the room. I hadn't finished packing up my closet and was planning on doing it later because I still had a few days on my lease and was only moving a few miles away, but Tim immediately mentioned that they had wardrobe boxes we could use. I'm so glad they had those boxes because it made moving clothes that were hanging in my closet so incredibly easy.

I had asked Tim how long did he think it'd take to move and since he hadn't seen my new place yet, it was hard to give an accurate estimate but he estimated about 2 hours to load everything which sounded totally reasonable to me. Tim and Zhan got the entire truck loaded in 1.5 hours.

When we finished up there, my partner and I drove over to our new apartment and the truck arrived only a minute after us.

My partner gave Tim a quick run through of our new apartment complex and how to navigate its many twists and turns while Zhan immediately started unloading the truck.

Tim and Zhan helped us place all of our furniture in its place in our new apartment and we were done at 11:43am. They really worked so hard and wasted no time at all. They didn't even take a break to drink the water that I offered them -- they only took the water when they left.

      -- Equipment / Materials --
You can easily spot the Trek Movers truck due to their fun painted exterior.

They wrapped all of our furniture and handled everything with so much care. We had couches, a fridge, coffee tables, lamps, paintings, bed, mattress, drawers, etc. that were all wrapped and padded extremely well.

      -- TL;DR --
If you're moving, I highly recommend hiring Trek Movers. Tim and Zhan were amazing and the next time I move, I'm definitely requesting Trek Movers to send Tim and Zhan over again.

Tamerlan and Ignat arrived and were very professional and courteous. We informed them of what was needed to include taking goods to a UPack Pod to load and they took charge of the assignment.
The goods were driven to the Pod location which was 50mins away and then proceeded to load it meticulously to ensure the space was maximized to its fullest and they achieved it without hesitation or waste of time.

All in all, a job well done! Exceeded expectation.

Thank you Tamerlan, Ignat and Trek Moving, definitely a winner with me.

BEWARE!!! I chose Trek because of the great reviews, even though it was the more expensive option. I used them this past month for packing and loading services. Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience. And as a note: I've moved many times, moving is really hard on your stuff - don't expect things to arrive without scratches and bumps. However, there is certainly a standard to be met by good movers and Trek failed to meet it.

      The good:
      - They were very responsive throughout the booking process and very helpful in figuring out what type of services I needed and how large of a team

      The bad:
      - We were the first job of the day scheduled to start between 8-9, but the movers were 45 minutes late. But it's LA traffic, no big deal in the scheme of things.
      - I talked to George throughout the booking process and we discussed how I would provide a bunch of the moving supplies (boxes, wrap, etc.) but that the crew would have everything we could need for purchase in case I didn't have enough or the right supplies. The crew called me before I left and I reconfirmed this with them. Unfortunately the crew arrived with barely any supplies - they ran out of tape and they packed 7-9 boxes that were not taped shut and were crushed in the pod since they weren't properly sealed.
      - The contract clearly states that they will wrap all upholstered furniture. But they didn't.
      - Liquids were thrown loose into a box and spilled and damaged several items.
      - The crew lost hardware for furniture that was disassembled, i found several screws and bolts after they left luckily but some of it has not been recovered.
      - We have 10 month old twins. Their cribs are soft wood. They were not wrapped at all and not deconstructed. One of the main beams split on one of the cribs and it is not safe to use anymore and we will have to get a new one. Both cribs are heavily scratched. I mentioned while they were packing that they could be disassembled and I was nervous about hwo they were being handled. Just so brutal to not have a place for your kid to sleep after a long and difficult move
      - The crew missed several shelves in the kitchen that they were responsible for packing.

I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt throughout. I reached out to them to share my experience before posting a review. Ray, the customer service manager strung me along for a week. At first I was really encouraged because he was very communicative and empathetic, but ultimately when he was supposed to call me to give me a final update on how they would handle, i was told he was running late but then he just didn't call me and then over 24 hours later sent an email. They ultimately completely shirked responsibility and essentially called me a liar despite providing pictures.

As a side note, I'm now mistakenly receiving texts from them confirming a move for another individual for some reason--this place is a mess. I would avoid. Maybe they do a better job when they are handling end to end moves, but I think this experience speaks a lot to how things are run.

      Purchased a Yelp Deal

Tldr: Horrible experience. Dishonest business practices. Fails to communicate. Might as well hire laborers and buy supplies yourself. If you think you want a company that's insured, look elsewhere. They caused damages (dented and scratched fridge, chipped patio glass table, scratches on brand new patio set frames, broke bedroom drawers, scratched bedroom frames, etc) and don't want to go through claims. They also over charged and only after two months of contacting them did they say they would refund the amt overcharged only IF I signed something releasing them from any damages or liabilities. So if I expect them to act honestly then I'll cheat myself from compensation for damaging my property and they fail to take any responsibility.

      -------------
In Jan I was moving my 3bd 2.5ba 18mi away. I had packed up the kitchen, bathrooms, and decor myself and taken it to my new place. The movers would only need to move furniture. Upon arrival I doubted the size of the truck but was assured it was big enough. The blankets used were filthy and they left chunks of dirt behind. The TV boxes need to be recycled they're so beat up. As the service continued, we discussed the size of the truck again. I was told I should have ordered the one that came as well as a smaller truck. I replied by asking isn't it the responsibility of the moving company to tell me what I needed and the foreman then said well I should have sent pictures. Again, I said well shouldn't the moving company request that if that's what is needed to determine the size of the truck. I said I'm just a customer who needed to move, I don't know how your company plans. He said well we're just the movers.

The movers did not know how to maneuver my fridge to get it out the doorway. It was originally delivered 2yrs prior & the crew only had to open the fridge door and that allowed them to fit it in the doorway. Your foreman decided he needed to take it apart. I did not want this to happen but I had no choice since they could not figure it out. He removed all doors and handles. The foreman also complained about how heavy the sofa was. This was also delivered 2yrs prior and again they didn't need to take it apart but only attach the legs. His response about the delivery teams that brought them was "they probably do this all the time". He complained about my "fucking" fridge and his back and legs.

Several times, he asked that I purchase his team lunch, specifically In-N-Out, and that it would help speed up the process. This again reinforced the thought that the team sent was outsourced and not professional movers.

I spoke with the foreman asking how much longer because I was unhappy with the amount of time it was taking. He said they were just about done and they had been working the whole time but I had too much stuff. He said I had more than what a normal 3 bedroom would have. I reminded him I live alone and I moved all my decor, my bathrooms, the majority of my clothes except for a few garment bags, and my kitchen so how could it possibly be more than the norm? On top of that, we left the decorations I had at my front door, an artificial tree, and living room wall art behind because they could not fit them in the truck.

When finalizing the bill, the foreman needed to take into account the $50 voucher I purchased on Yelp and an add'l $300 from the total due to not knowing how to maneuver the fridge and sofa w/o taking them both apart and so resulting in extra time. I will assume an unintentional error was made and I was not given the $350 off. I left a voicemail that night.

On 1/29, I received email from Andrew in response to my voicemail. He repeated excuses the movers had given him.

On 1/31, spoke to George and informed him of the actual situation. He said he'd relay the message to Andrew who was handling the case. I asked about my damages and he said to send the pictures by email and claims department would handle it.

On 2/2, several emails sent with pictures explaining damages.

On 2/6, I called because I had not heard anything. I spoke with Andrew directly and explained everything in my email to which he was surprised. He said he was aware of the $300 and needed to speak with the owner regarding the whole situation. I asked when I can expect to hear back and he said Friday, Feb 9th. I asked about damages and he said it can take up to 90 days.

      On 2/9, no response received.

On 2/26, follow-up message sent to Andrew. No response.

On 3/11, follow-up email sent to Andrew. No response.

On 3/25, voicemail for anyone to respond.

On 3/25, I received email apology stating that I would receive the $300 refund as promised BUT ONLY IF I SIGNED A SETTLEMENT LETTER! The $300 has NOTHING to do with THE DAMAGE THEY CAUSED TO MY FURNITURE. The $300 needs to be refunded and the claims department needs to compensate for the damages.

IF YOU ARE A WOMAN & A PERSON OF COLOR DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I WAS SEXUALLY AND RACIALLY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST.
I had a horrible experience with Trek Movers. The only reason I chose to go with them is because 2 friends of mine recommended their services. Their experiences & mine differ b/c we had different movers within the same company. I was moving from a 525 sq ft studio apartment into a 1 bedroom apartment 7 minutes down the road. To save time & money I pre moved 50% of my belongings. The items that remained in my studio apartment were a queen-sized bed, a dresser, 2 nightstands, a coffee table, & a couch. Smaller items were prepacked & ready at the door. I even took the liberty upon myself to load up the wardrobe boxes that they provided. When the movers came they immediately estimated the move to take at least 6 hours. Why would a move from a half-full studio apartment to a 1 bedroom apartment take at least 6 hours? I could tell right away from the snail pace the movers were using while even inspecting my place, making me sign extra paperwork, & moving my belongings they were milking the clock. I was being taken advantage of even after telling the movers that my time & money were limited because my car had just been stolen & I had to get a new one just a couple of weeks before this move. Moving alone is stressful but the car theft and having now to buy a new one just added to it. That was not a concern for them at all. They just asked did I want to cancel. Thats it. They knew legally I had to be out of this studio apartment so I had to proceed. All I had was 1 of my female friends there & from the treatment I was receiving from the movers, I felt that I needed to call on some of my male friends to see if that would help change the situation. I knew I was being SEXUALLY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. Once the men came the movers started to pick up their pace substantially until they disappeared on us. Yes, they disappeared & it happened twice. No this was not for a break. The first disappearance happened top of the move. I felt the need to wait by the truck while the move was happening to make sure no one stole my belongings. The truck was completely open and unsupervised until I got there. I now had 4 friends helping the move & they couldn't find the movers either. Once we found them my friends continued to outpace the hired movers. But the movers took up the time where they could & loading up a half-filled apartment with the items mentioned took 4 HOURS. Mind you I lived on the 3rd floor in a complex of about 60 units.
When we got to the new apartment 7 minutes away the movers drove past my new place & went missing for another 10 minutes. They claimed that the truck they were in couldn't turn on the street I live on which is a major 4 lane street. How does that make sense? They finally arrived & demanded payment from me before unloading my belongings. Also, my male friends had to go so the mover's energy went back to a snail's pace. Why are they asking for money when the move isn't complete? I immediately called the office of Trek Movers & they were unsure of how to answer my question & asked to call me back. The movers said it was their policy. After speaking with the movers on a separate call, the woman from the office called back & stated that it was their policy. Flabbergasted by all of this but also needing my stuff to be moved I paid the movers the $800 I had in cash and sent the $94 to the mover's Zelle account. Zelle makes you do a double confirmation to make sure you send to the right person & I checked with him every step of this payment. He continued with the move & came back to me saying "I need you to Zelle me again b/c you may have canceled the payment." What??? You demand money from me before the move is even complete (mind you both of my friends who have used this company paid at the end of their moves) & now you are accusing me of fraudulent behavior? I am the daughter of a judge & a principal. I wouldn't dare do such a thing. So now I am being RACIALLY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. After the move was complete I called to complain & I was told it was an unwritten policy. I have never heard of an unwritten policy in all of my years of living. Then after a couple of days, the company calls back saying it is written in their policy. How did that suddenly happen I wonder? Once the movers got to their 6-hour mark - which was the goal for them the entire time - the leader of the two movers came back asking for more money. When it was all over I called the company to complain & at the end of it they offered me $100 if I signed a settlement letter specifically telling me not to write a review. To silence me from speaking up about my experience - although on the phone they told me they weren't trying to silence me. That's why there aren't any bad reviews b/c of these settlement letters. I didn't sign. I don't want anyone to have this experience. They also ask their clients to write good reviews.

I have very mixed experience with Trek Movers. In general, I would not recommend.

      Pro:
      - Movers are very friendly
      - They are really careful with furnitures. If you own expensive pieces, you will love this moving service

      Cons
      - EXPENSIVE. EXPENSIVE. EXPENSIVE. The moving is charged by hours and they only send 2 movers and because it's charged by hourly, things are not very fast.
I paid almost 1.5k with within 50miles distance moving for one bedroom.
Because they were not fast, I needed to pack, unpack, assemble my furnitures that they disassembled. I didn't see the point of paying 1.5k. At the end of the moving, they ask you to submit and write review in front of them.

I had a great experience using Trek Movers! Their website makes it easy to book a reservation online. They also had great customer service! I reached out to fix a mistake on my moving estimate, and the woman I spoke with on the phone was very kind and helpful!

Before my moving day I got an email outlining an itinerary of what to expect day of. I really appreciated the guidance!

On the day of, my movers did a walk through of my apartment and gave me a time estimate. They ended up extremely close to their estimate at the end!

The movers were fast and efficient and honestly made this stressful day so much better! Thank you!!

Used them again yesterday. Different crew but same great experience. Everything went smoothly.

The move was great! My bed frame was too big to fit through the staircase so they carefully got it out through my balcony. The movers were quick and efficient and everything made it to my new place in one piece.
