Everything started out as 5 stars. Bill is very responsive and he even came out the same day and worked with me to schedule me in to accommodate my work schedule. Originally, he didn't have any available appointments and mentioned that the soonest he would be able to get to me was the following Tuesday because of the holiday yesterday. He also mentioned that he was going out of Town as well but he did me a solid. My garage I will admit for sure needed more than one thing probably to be fixed. Either way, I felt the springs is usually the culprit which is common for it to go out as I have experienced in the past. However, because visually it didn't seem like to be the case and of course trial and error is usually how these things go. Bill's suggestion were two options based on my situation. It sounded like the rail/shaft was stripped and I could pay to have that fixed for cheaper or the other option where I can take the opportunity to also upgrade my garage opener as well and there's a new law about having a back up battery blah blah blah. I figured why not do an upgrade anyways since I was already thinking to do it but was waiting for the garage opener to break. Bill was pretty sure that, that is what should solve my problem. So I agreed to his price. Price was okay but not the best but wanted to give Bill the benefit of the doubt and I don't mind to pay for good customer service and work. He came out the following day a little past 5pm and did the work and when he finished I still had the same problem. Again, I mentioned I had a feeling it was more than one problem. Either way, Bill couldn't have solved my problem at that time. He wasn't prepared nor did he make the correct and complete assessment of my situation. He realized this and said that All I needed was to get springs from Home Depot. I asked well if I go get them can you install it. He said he was sorry that he had to go to his other appointments and get on the road to take his vacation etc. I was a little upset and irritated at this point and usually I would make a big stink about it but decided to take the high road and just complete the job myself and just get my garage working. As he was leaving he said "hey if you can't get it to work by Tuesday call me." I went to Home Depot and they did not have my springs in stock and had to place an online order for them. The next day I decided to call another repair man and they did an assessment, a more thorough one and Bill was way off. Definitely, more things wrong with my garage as I suspected and they all made sense. Also told me that the garage opener that Bill sold to me it's not really meant for my garage type because of the weight of my garage door. Made sense since the last garage door I had is the same kind that this guy recommended. That was the moment I felt scammed and Bill left me hanging. Smh... lesson learned always listen to your gut feeling. Bill talked more about this new garage opener than anything else and seems like this is where he makes his money. He eye balled everything and didn't really assess what was really happening and just assumed. Not sure if my incident is isolated because of timing compared to others and their reviews but I wouldn't recommend Bill and his service
Gonna meet in the middle here. Bill reached out to me and came back out and made it right. Turns out the garage opener unit he sold me was unfortunately defective. He swapped out the unit and did some adjustments to my garage door. My garage door works great now but all in all took another 4 days because he didn't have an extra unit and had to get me another unit somehow. I contacted him on 10/9 and my garage door finally fixed on 10/21. I would have gave 5 stars if fixed from the start and I would have gave 5 stars if fixed immediately on the 2nd attempt but because of the extra wait time I figure to meet in the middle at 3 stars.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Stephen
Unfortunately I apologize for any inconveniences....and we definitely didn't want you too feel scammed....most battery backup units required by SB 969 are not gonna be an ideal fit for one piece doors as they are becoming more obsolete....and as the door weight is balanced by the springs it's not correct to say the door is too heavy for that opener.... But like I pointed out from the start...the springs we're not doing there job and your door was already bowing in the middle which someone attempted to previously fix but putting a piece a wood as a brace....in all fairness please give me a call and I will come out and see what new adjusting I can do with the springs you ordered....I always ask for the opportunity to correct anything we may have done improperly.....we at least ask for the opportunity to correct anything that is our fault....in a perfect world we always get it right.....we also said from the very start of the install we'd rather come back Tuesday and install the springs with the opener as they were very weak and was not balancing the door properly.....but was told " Let's at least get the motor installed today " ....again sorry for any inconveniences on our part

The motor and springs went out on our ancient garage door opener. I contemplated replacing the whole door and system due to the age of the door. I called around and everyone seemed just so expensive.
Came across William at Trinity. He did not try to upsell. In fact he was the one that stated the quality of my garage door, although aged was solid wood. He suggested I just replace the motor and springs as there was no need for a new door. His quote was slightly less than everyone else but he came across as very honest and loved the fact that this was a family business being handed down from father to son.
William did a great job. Would recommend and did to my parents. He did a great job for them as well. Responsive, courteous and performed quality work at a reasonable price.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lisa F.San Mateo, CA7227116Nov 23, 2023
I finally got my garage door replaced and was nervous about doing so due to the age of my home and the settling of the foundation and various other potential problems.
When I called Bill he was very knowledgeable and had confident answers to all of my questions. He saw no issues with replacing my door which made me feel at ease.
The day of the install he was there with his team on time and got the door installed perfectly. I don't have a good before photo but here it is!! I love it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

My garage door springs broke one night and Bill at Trinity Garage was able to respond with a quote right away and schedule an appointment the morning after. He and his assistant were able to complete the job efficiently in around half an hour for pretty good value. Highly recommend.

Bill visited my property on 1/11/2023, took all the measurements and promised an estimate.
A week later, after I contacted him, he said that "their internet is out, but will be restored in a few days". A month later, there is no estimate, no contact, no follow up.
I would not trust a company that fails at the basics of providing an estimate. At least have some courtesy to follow up and tell me why I failed as your potential client.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Waihin L.San Mateo, CA071Oct 13, 2023

Bill and Clay are AWESOME. Our old garage door motor failed, and they did a great job replacing it. Showed up on-time and took care of everything.
They really shined when I was moving out and inadvertently clicked a bunch of wrong buttons and it froze the garage door motor. I had to unhook the door to get it to close, so it was sitting there unlocked and the new tenants had already moved their items into the garage. I was worried I'd have to sleep in the garage that night so their music equipment would not get stolen.
Bill was 200 miles away with friends & family, but he got a hold of Clay, and Clay was awesome: came over 8pm+ on a Saturday night, with his wife and two kids, and fixed it. What a relief :) Thank you bothHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Susan L.San Francisco, CA02629Aug 24, 2022
I called Billy on a late afternoon and he returned my call within 10 minutes. He is very knowledgeable and agreed to work on my garage door in the evening after dropping off his child. He adjusted and realigned the track, replaced our broken cable bracket (he had it in his truck). He was done in under an hour, about 35 minutes to be exact. I thought he charged us a fair price for his professional work!
I highly recommend Bill. He helped us in a pinch!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Chris L.San Francisco, CA804412Jan 5, 2022
Bill is a true gentleman. I recently purchased a new Chamberlain garage door opener from Costco. It was a headache ever since I installed it. The range eventually dwindled down to the point where the remote/clicker had to be 8 inches from the opener unit in order for it to register.
Without even scheduling an appointment or asking money upfront, Bill tried to troubleshoot with me through the phone. He was more helpful and put in more effort than anybody from Chamberlain Support. Eventually I discovered my own trick...Chamberlain tried to make these new units aesthetically appealing by tucking the antenna all along the interior of the unit...as soon as I took it out and had it exposed I could at least have range extended to my driveway. I told William this over the phone and he told me about the pigtail trick (where if you form pigtails with the antenna the range nearly doubles) - now I can reach my garage as I'm driving towards my house!
Super friendly, helpful, and courteous. Would look to Bill for anything I need in the future.
Thank you, Bill!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amir E.San Francisco, CA06Jan 9, 2023
I have been working with Trinity for about 3 years now. I always worked directly with Bill who provides the best experience time after time. Bill originally installed my garage door and lift. Recently I had an issue with my door on a holiday weekend but that didn't stop Bill from taking my call and being as customer service oriented as possible. Given it was a holiday weekend I didn't really expect anything. However, Bill showed up the following day and resolved the issue in 15m of work for a great price. It was right before the rain store so Bill understood the urgency.
I would 100% recommend you work with Trinity for all of your garage door needs.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Melanie C.Daly City, CA696429Oct 28, 2021Updated review
This is a delayed review (forgot) and a New one on Bill / Trinity Garage Door & Service.
Last year. Replaced entire garage door and the spring almost a year ago. I was very grateful Trinity's bid came within my budget. Whew! Cannot remember why but the door took two days to complete installation. This was something specific to my situation. Otherwise it would have been same day installation. Bill and his crew worked quickly and efficiently. It was very important that he made sure everything was secure for the night before finishing the job the next day. Clean up post-work each day was great. Bill was very patient about explaining the work done and giving pointers on light maintenance (lube, clean, etc). He is very conscientious, efficient, and great at answering all questions. And he's very nice! As a woman head of household, it's very much appreciated. Thank you Bill!
New review. Post-power outage from the storm, had problems when I engaged the opener and the door was stuck. Tried everything I knew to try to unstick the door but it wasn't budging. Called Bill and he knew I was nervous about having an open door for the night. He headed over from a job he was finishing up. Bill did his routine check on the door, adjusted something and it was able to close! He followed up and tried the opener to make sure all was well before he headed out. His visit took about 5 minutes.
I can go on and on and wax poetic on Trinity Garage Door and Bill. I referred Bill/Trinity to my sibling and my sibling was very happy about the pricing and the installation. I would highly recommend, without hesitation, Bill/Trinity Garage Door to anyone who need his services.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Dec 9, 2019Previous reviewHad problem with garage door opener post-power outage. The door was stuck half open and couldn't wait until daytime for service. On a cold evening, Bill responded within minutes and arrived within 15 minutes. He checked over the door, track, coil, etc. and fixed the problem in minutes. For peace of mind, Bill tested the door several times, to make sure it was working right, before he left. Prompt after hours response, courteous service with a smile.
BONUS: Found out he installed this gorgeous garage door in the neighborhood that I always admire while driving by!
