I usually stay here when I'm doing a quick 1 or 2 night stay in SF.

Not super luxurious but works. Staff is always friendly. Quiet location- no loud noises, etc. Rarely hear noise in the hallways, which is usually someone opening/closing their doors

Rooms are a little dared but it works when your out drinking & want to walk back from the bars.

Shared (hallway toilet & shower area. Always clean. Never had am issue having to wait to use. I'm not overly crazy about a Shared restroom & usually request being closer to it (just I'm case). Staff always met my needs.

This hotel is more for if you're just looking for somewhere to crash for the night. It's super old and run down and in need of some major renovations. Nothing special. The rooms are small, super creaky bed and the carpets look questionable. There are communal showers/ restrooms- 2 on each floor. Overall they looked pretty clean considering they're communal. I did see the cleaning people a few times during my stay so I know things are being cleaned. Staff is friendly and the hotel is conveniently located. Don't expect anything special from here though

This hotel was cheap/affordable and perfect for my needs at the time. I went to San Francisco to just party and celebrate my friend's birthday. We planned to go out to eat and have cocktails and then to a few clubs; so I thought it'd be smart to get a hotel close to all the festivities.

The hotel is not like spacious like a Holiday Inn or Motel 6 etc, it's more like tiny apartments, lol I just laughed because it sounded funny actually saying that, hmmm.... no I think what I really mean is like a small dorm room ... Anyway the rooms are very small, there's a bed, a dresser, tv, sink and small closet; I only needed this place to rest and shower, I didn't plan on staying in the room all day or having company or a party in there so it was all I needed for my short stay. I got what I paid for but it was very clean, I saw the cleaning lady at least 3 times in my one day of being there.

The toilet, there's two on each floor, they're located towards the middle of the hallway and you have to share them but they are private. You can close the door and be alone but it's only enough room for the toilet and you to sit on.

The showers, same as the toilets, a community shower but it's private, and in separate rooms next to the toilet rooms, also two on each floor. The shower rooms are bigger than the toilet rooms though. Only problems I had with the shower was that the handle was broke, but I was still able to change the water temperature, and the shower room window I couldn't close, I kinda didn't feel private with the window open even though it wasn't wide open so I dressed and undressed inside of the shower where I could be behind the door.

Location is good, there's all kinds of things within walking distance, Walgreens, bus, Safeway, bars, and places to eat.

I read a couple other reviews being negative but it really is not that bad, no it's not a 5 star hotel but trust me it's good enough if you do something like I did, just plan to be a tourist or your on a budget. I would definitely come back.

      Tip:
-When you use the toilet, either bring wipes for your hands to the toilet room or know and remember that you can only wash your hands in your room where the sink is.

-Make sure you mind the street signs and meters for parking, you don't want to acquire a ticket on your visit, When I got there it was free parking but early morning I moved my car and parked at Safeway, slept a couple hours then moved the car back to the front of the hotel for free, this included a Saturday and Sunday for my visit.

This is still a good way to save money on a trip to the city. The price has risen to over 400 bucks for a week. It still has a great location. I still can walk all over.

Two big negatives one reservations. Last time I came I was lucky they had a room as they had lost my reservation. Also both that trip and this I requested the lowest floor and wound up higher. This trip I am on the top floor. There is no elevator and I have found the higher you are the worse the wifi is. About half the time I get no signal on any of the different names they say to use. The other half the time I get a slow signal I have to keep resetting.... Several days I've gone to the park where there is a much better public signal.

Still the place is clean and safe...

note 7/10/18 phone service has gotten bad the last few times Ive called, this time twice was told to call back in 5 minuetes then told the guy had stepped out and can I call back in an hour.... that was last night today I finally got someone and was told they no longer offer weekly rates and its over a hundred plus taxes a night....this place is definatly not worth that....I guess its time to move on.

Ok, so this is a VERY inexpensive hotel in an amazing part of a very expensive city. This hotel is great if you plan on sleeping and showering in your hotel and then spending the rest of your time exploring. If you want a luxurious hotel to lounge around and relax in, this is probably not it.

Our room was very small, but clean and pretty quiet for being in SF. The bathrooms are shared (down the hall) but always vacant when we needed them and also clean. Staff was super friendly and always available to help.

Great value for the money - once again - if you are not spending a lot of time IN the hotel.

I booked this room for 2 nights a Monday and tuesday to be close to my husband who was having surgery at CPMC Mission Bernal campus. I had a really hard time finding the place even with navigation because the sign on the front is totally covered by large trees! Wasted a lot of time. Finally parked in front right next to an empty parking lot which was not available for parking. I unloaded my luggage into the lobby. I was told to look on Valencia Street for a parking spot I would need to vacate in the morning. No parking spots within 6 blocks of this place! I walked by bars every other building with sleazy drunks hanging outside. People sleeping in doorways. Really dirty area with trash all over.
Finally made it back to the hotel at 11pm. The young woman at the desk helped me get into room 2. The door knob was broken and a loose lock was in place. Very small room but neat and clean.
I asked for some ice but none was available. I ended up going to a local bar to get ice to cool me off in the room.
Right outside the window were groups of people hanging outside the bars nextdoor. The TV did not work. I had to call for the male person who took some time to get it going.
I felt very unsafe here. I did not even get into the shower.
I had to pack up in the morning and walk the 6 blocks to get to my car. Took me 45 minutes to get back to the Hotel due to traffic. I dropped off my keys and just let my second night go! No way I would stay there again. Many safety upgrades needed! A fire would be catastrophic. The fire escape was an old rusty thing.

Inexpensive convenient hotel right on market, a few blocks from the Castro. Bathroom-down-the-hall type place. Overall, very clean.
Staff was absolutely outstanding, very helpful and friendly! Surprisingly quiet.

First of all awesome service! the guy who worked the front desk was very helpful, even though we exhausted him with directions and parking questions he was breaking a sweat! Lol...

My likes about this hotel is that it has that old Frisco feel to it. If your just in for plain simple lodging this place is all you need. We never stayed at a hotel with a shared bath but it wasn't too bad, it was clean you get to shower and use the toilet. It was a good feeling that early cold morning, as I looked through that bath window while I was pissin' you feel the breeze and a view of cultured San Francisco, man that was beautiful.

Travelers who need extreme privacy and not want people to hear your sex noises, I do not recommend this place due to the fact that their rooms are tiny dorm types. I was deep asleep and didn't hear anything but wife tells me she can hear conversations in the hallway in the middle of the night, so yes...do you get my drift?

My least favorite about this hotel is that parking is a challenge because you would have to find curb side parking around the street at the backside about a block from here. We were lucky to find a spot there to park over night.

When we came from the Embarcadero New Years Celebration we took the MUNI public transportation and the MUNI dropped us off not too far away to walk back to the our hotel, but hey taking the MUNI was cool.

Good lodging here to say the least and nice rates. You got to appreciate the experience!

Stayed at Twin Peaks during my three days in SF.
Jay greeted us and was very kind and friendly. The room was clean and organized. We mostly came here to sleep. We had no problem with the shared restroom and bathroom. They were always clean. Very amicable residents as well. It's in a great location of the city. Close enough to some attractions like the painted ladies, SF mission, and twin peaks tower.
