So I just trashed the Bryant St location and realized that I've never reviewed this location! I have rented from this location maybe 5 times?
Every time was good. They helped me figure out the best truck to rent for whatever I was hauling, and were efficient and personable. There were no ugly surprises.
Minus one star because moving stuff sucks and it can be challenging to find a place to stash your car while you're renting their truck. But hunting for a good, free parking spot nearby is SO worth it now that I've experienced the Bryant St location which has easy parking but that's about all it has to recommend it.
Go to this location. You'll be glad you did.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kiran P.Redwood City, CA02Mar 5, 2024
Andrew's been a great help from this location.
Service is great, polite and speedy. Uhaul app handles most of the onboarding and offboarding and I've found them to be pretty straightforward in explaining things and reasonable on returns.
Worked with them 2x before with moving things, and haven't had any issues whatsoever. Overall, just pleasant people.
Some homeless people are by the area so if you don't take pictures after you drop off the truck (which the app encourages you to do) you could be held liable for damages. Which I imagine is what happened in some of the negative cases in the reviews below!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lee D.San Francisco, CA2537Feb 5, 2024
Do not go here, seriously. I've used UHault a dozen times over the years but it would appear their practices have turned predatory.
First of all, the service was glacially slow despite having a reservation ahead of time. For some reason, the person helping me decided to go off on a long, unprompted rant about local taxes, climate change, and how the world has seen 17 different ice ages, all because I mentioned I was driving to Palo Alto to pick up some furniture. (Apparently, he assumed I was making the trip to avoid taxes for some reason.)
The big thing though was the surprise $288 charge for 'damages.' We,, paid for the insurance, and there were no incidents on the drive whatsoever. We arrived 15 minutes after closing and parked the vehicle in the store's parking lot. It was pouring rain, and it had been a long day, so I forgot to take photos of the van, and submit them through the app. So, of course, we were charged for unspecified 'damages' that magically appeared sometime after we dropped off the keys and for some reason aren't covered by the insurance.
What a load of garbage. I'll definitely be renting elsewhere in the future.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - S F.San Francisco, CA3025Apr 16, 2024
Showed up within business hours and they had shut down the registers early and went to a cash basis bc they wanted to get out early or something. Some guy could not even return his vehicle and pay with a cc.

Another great experience renting a van today at this Uhaul location.
They are helpful, polite, HONEST and fair here. They will not up charge you or try to make you pay
for dings and scratches that happened before your rental. They will help you as quickly as possible and won't make you wait while they call their sister to complain about their divorce, etc. AVOID the Bryant St location at all costs ((well unless you want to spend an hour witnessing reality TV show drama, get lied to a bunch, and pay a bunch of money.)
One thing I learned to be aware of though, is that at every Uhaul location when you reserve (and you definitely should) tell them you need it for the day, otherwise they will only reserve it for you for 4 hours...even though you are paying the daily rate. So get it for 24 hours and return it early just in case it ends up taking you five hours to haul all of that crap to the dump.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Sep 16, 2017Previous reviewSo I just trashed the Bryant St location and realized that I've never reviewed this location! Rented a cargo van. The photos they provided on their end before I took off were inaccurate: it listed the same photo for the front of the vehicle as it did for the passenger side. There was a lot of damage on the passenger side. I attempted to upload this and submit (which you have to do to fulfill the contract), but it went nowhere. I go back in and talk to the same guy who checked me out, tell him there's an issue with their photos and I wanted to document damage they didn't account for. The guy told me I purchased insurance, that I didn't need to worry about it and that it was probably bc of the overpass that I didn't have connection. I disregarded him and took tons of photos. I walked back from the van back to the office and submitted an actual photo of the passenger side and submitted the contract and left. We emptied a storage unit and returned the van. Had it for less than 5 hours. Most of that time sitting on front of my garage. When I returned the van, the original guy was there but a new guy took my keys, asked if there were any problems. I said no and left. Got the receipt, and noticed a $195 charge for damages. Called customer service, filed a claim and after two weeks still haven't heard anything from these guys. Filing a complaint w my credit card to dispute the charge.
Take photos! Document everything. If there's a situation like mine, have them look at it and photo them in front of it as you show them.
Do **not** trust them.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Trish M.Larkspur, CA98684Mar 17, 2023
The manager of this store, Andrew , helped me so much, I don't know how to thank him . I was completely at a loss about how to resolve several moving issues, he solved them all . His staff, Efren and Racquel, were very kind .
Thank you!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 27, 2023
Super sweet and caring professional workers. I wish I caught their names but both looked to be just around their 20's. The young African American gentleman helping me offered to fold and carry out the boxes for me to fit into my convertible. Absolutely recommend this location!

I was so happy with my experience at this location on 04/10! I was honestly very nervous about being charged hidden fees or having an overall unpleasant experience while moving a couch. The man that helped me, I believe the manager, was very kind, helpful, and upfront about any possible fees. I felt comfortable asking questions and I will definitely visit this location for moving in the future!

I reserved a truck for pick up at this location several weeks before my move. I was told the day before my move, I had to go to a location 30 miles away to pick up my truck.
Uhaul is a terrible company. Don't rent from them. Pay a little extra for Penske. They will actually provide you with what you reserve at the location you specify.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Daniel I.Miami, FL074Dec 30, 2022
Wallet fell out of my pocket in the van the night of my rental, realized the moment I got home about 10 minutes after dropping the key in the slot. I called the next morning and rang endlessly, called a few more times and nothing. Very mysterious how a business can run without operating a phone line. Called customer service, they called and still nothing so they recommended that I visit the store. Customer service calls but they aren't able to pick up the phone, they must have been so terribly busy on a weekday before 10AM.
I found this all very strange because the protocol is that once vehicles are returned they are immediately checked for damage as well as any items in the cabin and cargo area so they can adjust the charges or charge you for any repairs not covered by the warranty, according to the customer service supervisor.
I called again today and was made aware that they didn't find anything ...Apparently wallets and other valuable items can grow hands and feet, open the car door and walk away.
It says plenty about UHAUL's company culture and the people that work for them. It's not particularly difficult to return what's not yours, especially when you can cross reference the name with an account/phone number but now I have to go through the hassle of getting a new DL, new ID, new Vaccine Card so thank you very much U-Haul and 100 Valencia ST Team, I will never forget your indifference, patronizing tone and best of all your incredible help in resolving this issue.
At least now I can partially understand what happened Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
