U-Haul - Hayward

This is a great example of piss poor customer service. I made an appointment to have a trailer hitch installed. I showed up at the appointed time only to be told the hitch has not arrived. I was given another appointment about a week later only to be told they don't know if they have the hitch and even if they did they couldn't install it. No phone calls, no apology, they just don't care. I cancelled the hitch as well as the car trailer I was going to rent later in the month. I found a place in Castro Valley who will do the job tomorrow.

He is always finding solutions to any issues. He gives superb customer service!!! I have been renting a truck once a week for the past 2 years...
and he is always fast getting me in and out!!

Unbelievable... ZERO stars if I could give 0 stars. I reserved my truck 1 week prior. The location overbooked all their equipment, right when I arrived they canceled my reservation. So all the things that we already packed has no place to go. We have no where to sleep, all the preparations we made cannot be done today. So the result? Redid a reservation for the next day with a bigger truck that will not fit in our streets for 10 bucks off! What a joke.

Online chat basically said they cannot do anything and give me the contact information of yhe scheduling manager. We'll the scheduling manager overbooked everything to begin with. That is not managing your assets correctly. They were no help.

We did get a rental on Sunday however being that they close at 5pm on Sunday we had to rush as on a Saturday you get until 7pm to return. So basically we were kicked in the rear for Saturday and Sunday.

I had UHaul installed a tow bar on my Ford Escape. They did a great job, the price was reasonable and all done very quickly. It would have taken me half a day if I did it my self. I'll let the pros do it for me.

I had no problem with the customer service, however I did have a problem with what was perceived as an online book price vs actual price. I warn you that there is a mileage charge plus gas fee. While it may say (plus 0.99) per mile, you don't really see that until after, and that amount will double what you perceive to be a good price booking online. Attach below is what I initially booked vs my ending cost. Btw, my trip was around 19 miles total, gas about $12.50.

My cost was $40 at booking and ended up $81.00. and I returned 2 hours early. I was pretty shocked. Be careful booking and understanding the cost online Vs ending cost.

Went to pick up my reservation. They claimed that the trailer needed maintenance. Change my reservation to Oakland. Only received an automated text saying to check in on my reservation no phone call or nothing delayed my trip two trailers were on property. One did have a bent fender, but the other one looked fine..... needs better communication

I used Uhaul for a moving job my attentions was to use the truck for 6hrs but it took 10hrs to complete the job. I knew I had to cross the bay bridge so I brought my FastTrack with me unknown to my knowledge I didn't notify them before hand. I return the truck and a few day's later I got email indicating my credit will be billed for the infraction. So I contact both Uhaul and FastTrack explained myself and was able to work it out and pay the ticket. My point is that Uhaul Customer Service was very helpful and Uhaul company was very honest and helpful. My opinion is that ALL companies should take a few pages out of Uhauls book on helping the customer they did exactly what they said they would do in a timely manner to resolve this matter for me. THANKS AGAIN!! If you need a moving truck go to Hayward Uhaul 1st.

If you drop off and the employee says that they will check you in and email you a receipt, DO NOT BELIEVE it. Stick around a get a receipt before walking away. I was overcharged for a trailer that I returned. I called the Hayward branch and got rerouted to U-Haul's call center. Their solution was to call the Hayward branch and which the call center did multiple times but no answer from Hayward branch. Call center is useless as well and did not have a way to remediate it. Look elsewhere.

What the hell is going on at the Ubox located in Hayward CA? After a decade I get an email asking me if I want my property? Wtf? What property? I will keep calling Monica and she hasn't called back but sent another email. UHAUL management please call me back 3603618030.

After a long weekend with my car breaking down, wallet stolen, and having to move I came here needing to get a truck and Izzy made this a very easy stream less process. Great customer services and I couldn't have had a better experience. Thank you #bayareafoodz

Not sure why all the bad reviews. Rented two trucks on different days. Was in and out very quickly. I will be back for sure!
