U-Haul - Sacramento

I've used this uhaul location a few times over the last 6 months and I've been impressed each time. Two different young men have provided better customer service than I've had elsewhere in a few years.

Trailer hitch install on Subaru Legacy.
Dropped off at 7 am for 2 pm pickup.
Now 4 pm, still waiting.

Everything about my experience with U-Haul on Broadway has been absolutely horrible. I rented a small truck online to move a few things on a Sunday morning. I chose the online check in, which was supposed to be quick and easy. There was nothing quick or easy about the process. The app was not functional, so I had to go inside the store and wait in line 5 well one person was working the front counter. By the time I found made my way to the counter, truck I had been assigned, apparently didn't exist. They decided to give me a new truck, and they couldn't find the keys. finally, they found keys, pointed to a truck in the corner of the lot, and said there you go. after a 45 minute process the day was getting warm so I was in a rush to get started with my project... A few blocks down the street I looked down, and the gas is on empty, so I pull in at the closest gas station. As soon as I put 4 gallons in the gas tank, I got out to adjust the side mirrors and noticed gas was running down the sidewalk. Upon further inspection, gas was streaming from my hole in the bottom of the gas tank.

A bad experience turned around by awesome customer service by the manager. Please, people, report if there's a problem with a truck. Sometimes they don't know if you don't take that time. Great job for making a bad experience to a great experience!

Marlis is an amazing general manager and I couldn't recommend this uhaul location enough! She and her team went above and beyond to help me find solutions for my move. Marlis's help made moving a lot easier and I have already told all of my friends to go to this location when they need to move.

I recently had an unsettling experience with U-Haul regarding their handling of my emergency contact information. Despite having my own contact details readily available, U-Haul disclosed my personal information, including my legal name and emergency contact phone number, to a subcontractor without my consent. This breach of privacy left me feeling confused and frustrated, especially considering the subcontractor's unrelated complaint about parking. While I attempted to address the issue by contacting customer service and the general manager, I received no response or resolution. Moving forward, I hope U-Haul takes greater care in safeguarding customers' privacy and respects their personal information.

They are as understaffed as they are incredibly rude and impatient. The gentleman that inspected my vehicle upon return basically ensured I will never come back here and will only be telling people to avoid this location at all costs.

uhaul is attempting to do a " bait and switch"
means they give you one price over the phone and when you get to location, they give you a different price, which is illegal.
Corporate just told me the equipment is available, I drive to site and then they try to triple the cost and tell me I can't return the equipment there.
Thieves...

I was told 54 dollars in the phone and then they tried to hand me a bill for 158 dollars.

This place had phenomenal service from start to finish. They made the move great and went out of their way to ensure everything went well. Strongly recommend this place. Will definitely use them again if I move.

This Uhaul location has irresponsible and straight-up dangerous business practices. Here is the story:

After waiting over 45 min to finally get my moving van (this was WITH a reservation), I was told that all the vehicles were low on gas because someone keeps siphoning and stealing the gas each night. So I will need to fill up right away. This is irritating, but I understand.

The employee tells me where the closest gas station is. I mapped it, and it's legit about 600 feet away (the Valero on Broadway next to the freeway). No problem right?

I get in, start up the van and the pull out of the parking lot. I only drive about 400 feet and this van runs out of gas underneath the overpass. I can see the Valero station from across the intersection.

I'm obviously pissed. I'm stuck in the middle of the street on Broadway. I can't push it by myself. I start to call Uhaul, and luckily some young kid (maybe 17?) runs out and asks if he wants some help pushing. We push it into the gas station. This kid restored my faith in people. I thank him and he just smiles, nods, and takes off.

So when I drop the van back off, the General Manager is steadfast in blaming me for running out of gas and refuses to comp me any part of the bill (aside from the gas I already put in). So buyer beware - this location will leave you stranded and blame you for it.

Avoid this Uhaul location.
