UMOVE

The team at UMove really did an amazing job for my family as my kids and I moved into a new house. I called UMove the week before and scheduled the move between two homes to a third final destination. I evaluated a few moving companies and many had high review counts and similar ratings, but my conversation with Maksim really sealed the deal for me. They are newer, hungrier, and willing to work hard and promised a personalized service experience.

The morning of the move, they showed up a little late due to some issue with the lift on a truck, but they swapped vehicles and showed up ready to work. They called me to let me know what had happened so I appreciated that. Once the move began, the three of them got to work taking apart furniture and carefully wrapping it up. They took apart things that I didn't know came apart and made moving it safely much easier. They loaded the truck and tied things down so there would be little to no movement in transit. They covered all the furniture to protect it and every piece made it to the final destination with no additional marks or damage. I felt bad because a few of my things must have weighed hundreds of pounds (or more!) and they never complained out loud (I'm sure they talked about it on the way home or where I couldn't hear though!). Some of the heavy pieces even had to go upstairs at the new place and they did it without damage to the furniture or the walls! I was impressed and thanked them for their caution and care!

Overall, I would definitely recommend them and suggest you take a chance with this highly professional team. They went the extra mile many times for me and my kids, worked quickly, carefully, and even put things together in a way that made the move easier on us all so kids could sleep in their beds that very night! I have never submitted a review before, even though I trust and use Yelp REGULARLY, but I really wanted to help UMove by submitting my unsolicited and grateful experience working with their company.

Update - I hired this moving company last year for my apartment relocation and was so impressed by their professionalism that I didn't consider anyone else when it came time to move from a three-bedroom, single-family home to a similar-sized property. They promptly provided me with an estimate and their availability. On the moving day, they arrived precisely on time.

This time, I had four movers instead of the two from last year, as I had more belongings to transport. Each mover displayed the same diligence and care as before. I was impressed that they remembered every detailed instruction I'd given and efficiently placed the boxes in the appropriate rooms by simply reading the labels. They skillfully disassembled and reassembled the furniture, restoring it to its original condition.

The final cost matched the initial quote, so there were no surprises. Having used their services twice in the past year and experienced the same high standard of service both times, I wholeheartedly recommend them for any moving assignment. They will undoubtedly deliver their best.

We hired UMOVE for a 3b/2ba to 3b/2ba move across towns. They completed the move in 7.5 hours over two trips with efficency, care, and good humor. The cost was also reasonable, and in total, I would not hesitate to utilize their services in the future. Strong recommend.

Before I inspected everything after Maxim and Alex left I'd probably give them 3 stars for the following reasons.

Pros: was able to finish everything in 3 hours (move from one ground level 1 bed to a 2 bed 2 bath with small steps leaving up to the door), lower prices than some of the other companies in the area (there is a reason)

Cons: maxim scheduled me on the wrong day and good thing i was able to move things around for them to come at 7 instead of 9. I should have taken this as a warning but no I just wanted to help get this move finished. Slight language barrier and lack of clarification which is okay but not ideal.

The reason why I'm now giving 1 star is that I noticed upon them leaving that a sofa that was NEWLY cleaned was stained and dirty. Additionally the cushion inserts that I had assumed would be wrapped and protected were dropped in the dirt and stained pretty heavily. When I texted Maxim his response was "aren't those washable"? What kind of response from a mover is that???? Your job is to make sure everything is safely moved from one location to another. So great I'll have to spend another 400 to get the sofa deep cleaned again.

Also, as a side note after I paid 320 for 3 hours and then tipped 160, maxim asked to use my bathroom. When I went in after him there were urine drops on the toilet. Absolutely inappropriate.

TLDR: the relatively cheaper price is set for a reason, would not use them again nor let them use my bathroom again

Just moved to the Bay Area after a long drive. Scheduling a same-day appointment was incredibly helpful. Alex and Chris did a fantastic job unloading our U-Haul truck, unpacking our packages, and assembling our furniture. They were very efficient, kind, friendly, and considerate. They took good care of the furniture and carpet. The price was also great value. I highly recommend them for moving help!

Great service! After having consulted with various other companies, we went with umove due to the reviews, how responsive they were and the feeling they gave us. The answers were quick and thorough answers even after hours.

They gave us a comprehensive price estimate after a video call, where they very correctly estimated times it would take (other companies gave less time that in hindsight was unrealistic).

As for the movers, they were really efficient. Didn't see them resting. And they knew all the tricks and ways to fit everything in. A bit of a language barrier but very friendly crew!

My move from Menlo Park to Los Gatos with two movers was excellent. They handled everything swiftly and with care, ensuring all my belongings arrived safely. They even rearranged furniture in my new apartment to help me settle in smoothly. I highly recommended their services!
