This place has good, negotiable prices for musical instruments, music, and accessories, as opposed to the above-MSRP prices that I have experienced at other stores. If they don't have it, they will order it for you at no charge. I was generously offered up to 20% off of a trombone case that I was already interested in without having to ask. I was generally impressed with their service.

Of note: Union Music Company has a great selection of equipment/instruments for orchestras or concert bands, but not for guitars.

I called this morning to inquire about finding a cable for my standup bass (to hook up to an amp) and for some reason, the buy who spoke to me was very impatient and annoyed with me when I asked him a couple questions. I know this is a good store, but it was very off-putting to be spoken to like that.

This is the place to go to pick up you r instruments. Lots of choices in a wide range of prices. I picked up a nice used flute a a good price. They have friendly knowledgeable staff to help you make a decision.

Excellent service. I bought a trumpet from this dealership in 1997. I found the service very friendly and helpful. I was at the time on tour of the USA with Lamb. I bought a Leblanc Martin committee trumpet from this dealership. I also bought a pocket trumpet customised. I was very happy with both instrument. I'm happy to hear that they're still in the business.

An absolutely essential store to have around for the orchestra or jazz player. Knowledgeable, helpful, friendly staff. I'm learning to play a brasswind and their sales staff have always taken the time to chat about my needs, offer advice, etc. Couldn't be better to deal with.

This is a great store, run by musicians for musicians. I bought a mouthpiece for my sax, and they were very helpful (and patient!) with me. I also rented a trumpet for my son, who was very impressed when the owner (a professional trumpet player) tried it for him.

They also have real books, reeds, rehearsal rooms and a great staff.

They weren't able to help me with my problem but gave a great referral to another company. Great service; same day!

Which is how my son and I - along with every other set of SFUSD families who waited until the last possible moment to get our 4th graders a musical instrument - found ourselves here on a Sunday afternoon. The staff people I saw on site were just a woman with a lovely but unfamiliar accent and a young man. They were treating every one with care, kindness and patience as they answered the same questions over and over again. Thanks for making this last-possible-moment experience such a good one!

One of the best stores in San Francisco for brass and woodwind instruments. Super friendly staff and a great location. I came in for some sax accessories and they had everything that I needed for a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Best music store in SF! First I went this place to try new mouthpieces for my alto sax and now I use every little excuse to go and have a nice conversation with their staff. Sam listened to me while I play and asked me what kind of sound I was trying to get, and gave me great advises(I ended up buying the mouthpiece he suggested, and I am really glad I did). Katia has been so nice and helpful during this time too and whenever I go, she still gives me good tips about improving my sound quality.

The price was the same price that I found on internet, so considering the time and effort they spent on me and the options they let me try, I would say it was a pretty good deal!!

Eh...the music selection was not as vast as I was hoping for when looking for tenor sax sheet music. They did have a great selection of mouthpieces for us to select from! Getting to try before we buy was great too!
