Universal Tires & Wheels

The short:

I somehow got a nail in my tire and I needed it to be patched. Since it was a Sunday, there weren't many places open. I called Universal Tire and Wheels because they were open on Sunday's and of the 9 ratings they had, they were mostly pretty good.

The 1 star review didn't really throw me off too much as... all cars will pull slightly to the right. The reason that is because roads are not 100% flat. They tilt down toward the right slightly. The reason is because when it rains, the water does pool on the road, but rather flows and drains off the side.

Anyways... I gave Universal a call. They quoted me $15 to patch my tire and were available. I came through and gave them my wheel and tire and had them patch it. The only issue that arose, and it was neither their fault or mine was that my tire was a low-profile tire (45 series). They had to charge me a little more to patch that, which is understandable. I feel that is pretty standard among all tire service business.

All and all, VERY happy that they were able to help me. I would rate Universal 4 out of 5 stars. It was a pretty straightforward service, especially on short notice. The reason I didn't give Universal 5 stars is because I wasn't really there long enough or had any service extensive enough for them to show me excellent service. (Ex. It'd be like trying to rate a drive-thru fast food place 5 stars. You just don't have enough information/experience to make a reasonable rating.)

My steering wheel and brakes were having an issue and wasn't sure what it was. Took my car in and the guys quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed it within an hour. They were very professional and knowledgeable.

I would definitely be coming back for future tire/brake/alignment issues.

I come here cause all the other big tire stores always take a lot longer to help since they are busier. I showed up and I guess all the staff went on brake they saw me but no one bothered to let me know what was going on simple heads up to tell me they'll be back soon or something would've been nice. But Nah they ignored me and saw me leave. 10 minutes later I passed by and they were taking cars again. If they would just said something I would have been fine.

I went to MIDAS ask for tire patch's estimate $40 and waiting time 2 hours.
I came here same job for $20 with less than 10 minutes .

I had a nail in my tire and needed my tire fix. I called around and some Place. We're going to charge me as much as a new tire just to patch it up. I called Universal tires and wheels. They gave me a great deal. I came in two guys started working on the car and got me out in five minutes. The gentleman's that helped me with my vehicle were professionals. I was going to take the tire out from my back, but they insisted they do it. I was gonna put my spare back into the trunk, but they insisted to do it. These guys are professionals. great customer service, I will be coming here when I need new tires for sure. I highly recommend anyone to come to universal tires

This is one of the worst services I've ever been to. I came to do an alignment on my car after repairing the suspension. This is one of the simplest services. The first time they did it wrong for me. The car was being pulled strongly to the right. I returned and drove the car onto a lift, where I saw that the mechanics had only done half the work!!! They didn't try to do their job well!!! The manager began to lie to me that my car was after an accident, that it was broken, although he saw that the suspension parts were new. I asked for a refund for poor quality service, the manager told me to fuck off and threatened me with the police!!! If you want to come to this service, don't do it! They will break your car! You'll be throwing away your money and wasting your time!

My Escalade had 2 flat tires, had it towed there Saturday late evening, they held onto it and changed both tires first thing Monday morning. Honest men & job well done.

Had visited to get my flat tire fixed on my Corolla. Was charged $20 for the fix (was under the assumption that it would be $15 as per some reviews here) and the service was very fast once I got my turn. There were couple of cars ahead and I had to wait around 20mins for my turn.

Yes, America's Tire fixes flat tires for free but you'd have to wait at-least a day to get an appointment if not few hours.

Needed 2 new tires, alignment, and balance. Ali gave me a very reasonable price for all of them.

This shop helped replace my tire, and it's honestly been forever since I've had such a quick, stress-free experience in regards to my vehicle. They're honest, responsible, and the value is great as well.

This is the worst tire shop I've been to. Lying robbers who don't know how to give customer service. I called and asked if he had a used tire for my car and he responded by saying yes and gave me the price for it. I told him I'll be there in 15 minutes and he agreed to it. When I arrived he said that he and his crew will go on a 35 minutes lunch break. So why didn't he tell me before I came there so that I didn't have to wait? He knew what time I would arrive. After 35/40 minutes, when he was done with lunch, the tire technician said he didn't have the tire I needed for my car, even though I gave them my tire information when I called them. The front desk guy went back again and found a used tire that had no thread left and wanted to sell me for $45. I said that it was insulting for him to give that kind of a bad tire for that price. I said let's do 40 and finish the job (since I was in a rush). He didn't accept it even after all the major mistakes he made. These charlatans are the disease in our community. What made me sad is that they're probably Muslim since the front desk had Islamic symbols, even though they acted exactly as the opposite of a Muslim. I should know, since I've studied Islam for decades under scholars. Using the symbols of truth as a manipulative tactic to lure in customers and then mistreating seems like a bad thing to do when you will be questioned on the Day of Judgement.
