Found this spot while visiting San Francisco. The food tastes fresh. The chicken in their dishes are very lean. We came here because of our very picky vegan daughter. She enjoyed her Tofu Healing Bowl. Great staff and great food!

It's been a year since my last review. Here is my update.
1. Menu definitely improved
2. Consistency in the food quality is a big plus.
3. Despite 1 star reviews I recently read - service is great, waiting time is absolutely normal (it's not a fast food place)

Urban Kitchen is located right in the heart of downtown Burlingame. There are metered parking spots around this restaurant. There are also limited free parking spots available several blocks away.

This restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining. We opted for indoor dining. We were greeted by the friendly owner as we walked up to the counter to place and pay for our order, After we paid, he gave us a number to place on our table.

We ordered the charred brussel sprouts, healer with chicken, miso salmon bowl, and the mint lemonade. The food came out in a timely manner. The charred brussel sprouts are to die for. They were charred to perfection. The sliced almonds, feta cheese, and the pomegranate molasses went so well with this appetizer. They were the best brussel sprouts that we ever had. The salmon and chicken were moist in the inside and flavorful. The lemon oregano dressing that came with healer with chicken was light, which we really liked. The miso ginger sauce that came with miso salmon bowl was also great, but we didn't taste any ginger. The roasted sweet potatoes and cauliflower were tasty. These two bowls that we had were very light and healthy. They were all made with fresh ingredients. The mint lemonade was refreshing and on the sour side, which we really liked. This means they didn't add any sugar to it.

As we were eating, the kind owner came by and chatted with us for a little bit. We told him that the food was delicious and to keep up the good job. They have been in business for only 15 months. We hope they will remain open for a long time.

There's something for everyone from healthy bowls, salads to pasta, burgers, and fries. They gave generous portions and the prices are fairly reasonable. We will definitely come back to try their mission katsu sando, salmon wrap, and their other entrees. We will also order the charred brussel sprouts when we dine here every time.

First off, we got take out and the wait was pretty long. The staff weren't too friendly either. Some guy in the kitchen also didn't have gloves on. He was the one who packaged the meals but also added some toppings to the meals bare handed. The interior and outdoor seating were nice though.

What you see posted for two meals was almost $50. I recommend you go to sweet greens instead for a salad, the one here was tiny. The best part of the Thai shrimp salad was the shrimp. Otherwise, the peanut sauce was too thick and their ingredients didn't mix well with one another.

The shashuka was "ok". Do you see those 4 pieces of thinly sliced sausage? That was an additional $4. They really skimp out on their portions, will not be back because I cannot justify these prices. We love the idea that they are sustainable, however for that price you can definitely get a better meal in Burlingame.

Visited the Urban Kitchen for dinner on a Friday night. We ordered at the register then seated ourselves. The food was ready within 10-15 minutes. We ordered the Chimi Churri Steak entree which consisted of grilled grass fed steak, crispy urban potatoes, urban salad, chimi churri sauce, and a slice of bread. The dishes were colorful and tasty. The potatoes were flavorful and crispy, satisfying my cravings. The steak was also tender, well cooked, and flavorful without being overwhelming. The restaurant is also modern with warm interior design. I would recommend visiting for a delicious and nourishing meal!

They have plenty of options in this neo American diner establishment. Order at the counter with ample of seating to choose from. I got the steak fajita bowl which was good and tasted healthy. The steak was especially good so I'd recommend just the steak entree.
Service brought the food out to our table and that was all that was necessary.

Visiting from Los Angeles this week and got the chance to try Urban Kitchen here in Burlingame. I ordered the chimichurri steak entree which was pretty good with the salad and bread. The staff was friendly and the ambiance was moderately loud. Would recommend to anyone in the area (:
