      Product - a Miele vacuum cleaner - is outstanding. However, the experience purchasing it, and then later purchasing vacuum cleaner bags and filters were some of the most distasteful we've had. The primary sales person, a woman, was, on both occasions, argumentative and downright rude. It seemed as though her primary purpose was to insult us and make us, her customers, wrong at nearly every turn. I won't shop there again, and can't recommend it. I'm sure Miele vacuums and supplies are available elsewhere.

      I definitely recommend Vacuum and Sewing World to anyone in search of a new vacuum or in need of getting an old vacuum repaired, cleaned and/or reconditioned. I came to the Folsom store in mid-April this year with a good friend of mine because I wanted to buy him a Miele vacuum cleaner as a belated birthday present. My friend knew next to nothing about vacuums but has a cat and was in desperate need of a vacuum that worked. (I bought my own Miele vacuum in 2005 at a family-owned vacuum/sewing store in Coos Bay, Oregon, so I already knew that Miele is a reliable brand of vacuum to get, and I also knew that it's better to buy a Miele at a store staffed by people who have expert knowledge about vacuums.) The salesperson, Alfredo, was very helpful, kind, knowledgeable and patient, and answered all of our questions. I bought my friend the Miele Brilliant model because I knew it would last him for the rest of his life and I knew he would love it. My friend has had only good things to say about the vacuum since bringing it home. He's used up one bag already.

      On this same visit I brought in my own 20-year-old Miele Blue Moon canister vacuum with its power head brush for repair, cleaning and an overall tune-up. The power brush had so much hair in it because I hadn't had it serviced in some years. The latch to the lid was broken as well. Howard, the owner, did a fantastic job of getting the vacuum back into great-working condition. I was afraid he might not be able to get the part for the lid since it was already 20 years old, but he was able to find the part and have it the vacuum ready for me to pick up 4 weeks later. It was totally clean, repaired and tuned up with new filters and bag as well. This vacuum will probably last me another 20 years now. Thank you again, Howard and Alfredo!

      I have been on the market for a vacuum for about 2 years now. We got a Dyson stick vac since 2019 and although it does the job, I was never really satisfied. Researching online led me to a couple of brands, Miele, Sebo and Karcher, but there's only a few dealers I can find around. Everywhere, those brands are priced really high, and the one usually offered in big box stores are the toned down version that isn't really reliable or has a weak motor.

      Howard answered my questions in great detail and it aligns to what I researched online. He took his time and greatly explained the pros and cons of the vacuums. I ended up buying a Miele C3 Kona which I think fits the needs of our small home. Howard gave me a quick walkthrough for the vacuum which I really appreciate.

      I used the vacuum as soon as I got home and I was blown away. The unit was so quiet, my wife didn't even notice me vacuuming. That thing is able to suck up every nook and cranny that my stick vac can't reach. And from what I see online about it's reliability, no wonder it's expensive (my wife doesn't know though haha).

      I'm very happy with my purchase experience and the peace of mind that if something's wrong, I can bring it to Howard to get it fixed.

      I am a sewist. I sew my own clothing. I use a Singer Talent machine that was not cheap. The owner(?) was dismissive and rude when it was brought up I have a Singer. He cut me off, said it wasn't a "real" sewing machine but a "toy", and pushed the only two brands he sells there. My machine needs a tune up but there is no way in HELL I'd take it to this guy. Rude, dismissive, and I'd be very wary leaving my machine with a guy who so clearly thinks any machine other than the two he sells are trash. HARD PASS.

      I took my Pfaff serger in for servicing that another company couldn't fix. Upon my arrival, the owner took my machine and inspected it and told me exactly what was wrong with it. It only took a few days and I got my machine back fixed and cleaned. After I got home, I tried my machine. Well it didn't work for me. So I contacted the owner and brought it back in. He was very nice and showed me from scratch how to thread my machine (sergers are difficult to thread). Well clearly the things I was doing were wrong. He showed me step by step how to do it. He serged on a piece of fabric and it was beautiful. I took it home and followed his instructions to change the color thread. It serged beautifully! The owner made me feel confident that I could bring it in anytime if I had issues and he would help me to thread it or whatever problem I was having. I give four stars only because the service was a little pricey. But I am a happy customer!

      I had a small kitchen appliance that stopped working because a screw came loose. I could not reach in the spot to replace the screw. I tried everything. Someone suggested to me that I bringing it here to see if they might be able to fix it.

      Lucky for me I had the pleasure of meeting Howard the business owner at the Folsom location. He was so friendly and within 10 minutes I was walking out the door with my item fixed. No charge. I would've happily paid. What was so refreshing though was just honest old fashion customer service.

      There were a few other customers being helped while I was there. I observed the same courteous customer service with them as well. Because they were busy, I expected that they may not be able to help me but I was delighted that they checked on what I needed and gave me the same level of attention and customer service even though they realized I had an atypical, minor repair.

      I will be referring them every chance I get!

      My sewing machine had a minor issue (backstitch button broken) so mom took my sewing machine in here to surprise me with a fixed sewing machine for Christmas. She ended up paying $150. I tried to use it the other day and the backstitch button is still broken AND something was "fixed" and now I can't even use my sewing machine, it keeps snapping needles in half!! The girl who works in the store is SUPER sweet though. Now I have a completely useless sewing machine and my mom is out $150. If you're debating coming here to fix and old machine or buy a new one, might as well buy a new one.

      Hello Robert, Cleaning a vacuum and unclogging it, which is why there would be labor involved, is not something covered under warranty.

      Went in there to get an idea on how much it would cost to get my vacuum serviced. Owner took my vacuum to the back, plugged it in for less than 10 seconds. Came back and told me that the unit has never been serviced (not true - it has been serviced several times before), needed several parts replaced without even inspecting/opening the unit, and then gave me a quote for $169. He was unprofessional and almost accusatory about the vacuum never been serviced before. Was also trying to sell me a new one. Ended up taking it to Brother Sewing and Vacuum in Cameron Park. Way better experience. Oscar was professional and cordial. Inspected the vacuum and told me that I did not need to replace the parts. Only needed service for $60. Buyers beware.

      I took my sewing machine for service. I was quoted 5-7 days which is 3 weeks less than the other place in folsom. I was called 2 days later that it was ready.

      I have a basic machine that was only a few hundred dollars. Not a fancy machine or anything. The other place quoted me a minimum of 129 to service it. Vacuum and sewing only charged me 89 because the issue was simple.

      The customer service was great and the owner is very nice and helpful
