Amazing vegan soul food. First few vegan restaurants that popped up on maps, gave it a try and do not regret it one bit. The flavor and preparation was all there. Could barely tell the difference between regular soul food and Vegan Mob, if I'm being honest. Save yourself the trouble and go grab yourself a plate.

I accidentally ordered my food online to the San Bruno location instead of Santa Rosa, the yelp for the Santa Rosa location takes you to the San Bruno website and doesn't prompt you to choose a location. I called immediately after my order was placed and I realized it was for San Bruno. I called and the woman on the phone was so rude and didn't even listen to me she just immediately said I can't give you a refund and the food will be thrown away. I let her know they hadn't made the food yet as the order was only placed about a minute ago. She kept interrupting me and saying I would not receive a refund. I asked to speak to a manager and she put me on hold for 4 mins then said I will issue you a refund, I said great thanks please work on your customer service skills.
About a week later I still had not received a refund so I reached out on Instagram, they said they would be "issuing a refund to me promptly". Another week went by and still no refund. So I asked again when I could expect it and was told "we don't handle refunds here". Then when I said how terrible the customer service was and how I would let people know how awful my experience with them was I was told that would be spreading false information. lol. Do better vegan mob.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 272198494Jul 24, 2023
Stopped by Vegan Mob before work, and wanted to see what hype was about. I had ordered the Barbecuerito. Perfect for on the go. It had lots of flavors in the mac, coleslaw, and esp the brisket altogether. I enjoyed it. I def want to come back and try a meal plate next time.
Service was good, they kept it moving.
Ambiance was more like a grab and go situation. Not much seating, other than limited high chairs against the counter in the front.
Also, on a good day or wknd they have a farmer's market across the street.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 086131Oct 4, 2023
Permanent closed. Looks like a new SF location in works. To bag they were great. Nothing else to say

Still pretty good! Went again yesterday because my partner saw someone eating a burrito on our way out on Saturday and had to go back again for it. Unfortunately! The burrito he ordered was not what he saw the lady eating and was super disappointed. He still ate it but burrito was pretty big and sweet because of the bbq flavor so it got a little boring (I think it was called barbequita).
I ordered the spicy fried chicken plate with macaroni/ slaw and mob fries. I shared some with the sis in law and she was surprised at the flavor, also was surprised at it being vegan. She also liked the slaw from my plate. Halfway through I had to switch with my partner because I was full and he looked tired/ miserable with the burrito. I couldn't eat the vegan meat- it was okay. I picked apart the burrito and ate the other parts to it. He said he would try this place again but maybe ask to put the chicken inside the burrito instead.
Sis in law ordered the peach cobbler. I didn't try this but she said it was very good, though a bit sweet.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1Feb 26, 2023Previous reviewI am a little disappointed for waiting so long before trying this place. I've known about Vegan Mob for years and for some reason never found my way to it until yesterday when I visited with my friend and fiancé. I ordered the mob sandwich with fries; my friend ordered the small plate with brisket for protein and yams/ potato salad/ smacaroni; my partner ordered fried chicken for protein and smacaroni, slaw and potato salad.
We had to wait for about 1.5 hr before eating because of some errands. Unfortunately, this did cool it down a bit/ made the buns of my sandwich a bit soggy. Nonetheless, it was a delicious meal. Everything was good! My partner especially enjoyed the slaw, my friend asked me twice during the meal to confirm if everything was actually vegan (he is not).
This is not a regular sit- down and eat restaurant. There are tables but it's better if you grab and go to a different spot. - 26295Mar 18, 2023
The use of plant-based brisket is a great option for those who are looking for a vegan or vegetarian alternative to meat-based nachos. The addition of the slaw and guacamole also adds a nice refreshing touch to balance out the bold flavors of the nachos.
However, the dish might not be for everyone, as it is heavily loaded with toppings and could be overwhelming for some. Additionally, the use of heavily processed nacho cheese may be a downside for those who prefer natural, whole-food ingredients.
Overall I give this dish a 7/10

I came here with my non vegan friend on our visit to Oakland. We had an amazing experience and we both loved the food. We got two different options to have variety and the fried chicken plate was the best. I've had better vegan mac but this one is pretty good. I think the noodles might have been over cooked and that threw me off. The po'boy was good but not as good as the chicken. I'm glad I had a chance to try both but I'm missing that vegan fried chicken and candied yams.

I'm no vegan but Vegan Mob has a friendly staff, serving good quality food. There's plenty of parking on Lake Avenue (and within their private lot) and the atmosphere is perfect for a casual dining outdoors in the Oakland sun. I ordered the Soul Mob Roll, Gumbo Cup and a Mob Juice.
The Soul Mob Rolls were expertly fried and rolled with copious amounts of Smackaroni and Candied Yams. There were four (4) servings of fat rolls, each cut in half. Each half was about 1"x 1" thick goodness. All the rolls were topped with an orange-colored drizzle sauce. This dish was paired with Country Sausage Gravy.
The combination of Smackaroni and Yams was interesting but since the yams were so plentiful and lucious, I got lost in the yam goodness. The Candied Yams really made these rolls stand out because it was so sweet and creamy!
As for the outer layer, the wrappers were fried to perfection--no burns, holes, oil stains or leftover crumbs. The orange drizzle sauce and the gravy was a nice touch even though I didn't think these rolls needed any more condiments or embellishments.
My Gumbo Cup had a beautiful mix of hot, golden yellow broth and small grains of white rice. I think I had at least 4-5 large shrimps in this cup! My cup lacked any serious Cajun spices for my palate. This stew was a nice attempt at gumbo but it still tasted delicious in its own right.
As described in the menu, the Mob Juice contained sea moss, alkaline juice, spinach, celery, ginger, turmeric, apples, pineapples and guava. I didn't taste any complexity in the combination flavors or any one ingredient that stood out more than the rest. Also, I was surprised the juice wasn't made to order. Rather, it was pulled from the mini fridge, near the cashier. However, it did taste like a fresh, "green" juice.Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 1
