This place was a bit disappointing. It wasn't hustle and bustling around 3/4pm. Many vacant spaces. We got some discounted sushi.

Omg read the reviews first, I wish we would have! We spent more time looking for parking (and they have a garage) than we did inside. It's literally like 5-7 food vendors and one kitchen supply store. That is it. We were in and out in less than 5 minutes. Unless you're going to eat at a specific place it's absolutely not worth it and a waste of time to go out of your way to see.

Yelp said it closed at 6 pm.
I arrived a little past 4 pm and most places were closed.
It's a very small area with not too many vendors

Luckily the pie restaurant and la pizza la pasta were both open and both really good.

I wanted to get a souvenir from here but could not.

Hard pass. This place does has some good food options for lunch. The coffee shop wasn't even open. Not a place to shop or buy and goods. Go if you would like a variety of cuisine for lunch. Sad how much empty space is in there. Took us 2-3 min to walk in and out.

This is a collection of businesses under one roof, mostly restaurants.
We only had 30 minutes to get lunch: a chicken pot pie at the Victoria Pie Company and lamb Rogan at Spice It Indian Cuisine. Both dishes exceeded our expectations. The pie crust was tender and flaky, there was chunks of chicken, vegetables and potatoes. Fresh and hot, not too saucy so the crust (top and bottom) remained flaky. One of the best chicken pot pie I've ever had. Well done. The lamb Rogan was flavorful and full of chunks of lamb, the rice was perfectly done. Packaging was excellent, I could tell a lot of care went into this dish. The service was very professional and polite. The whole area was clean and well-kept. There was more than enough lamb for 2 people. We had leftovers.
There were plenty of other diners enjoying food from various vendors, and all tables were clean and well-organized.
I would definitely come here again for another meal. Victoria is not a big town, so don't expect the size of Pike Place Seattle, Granville Island Vancouver, or Faneuil Hall Boston. But the offerings are varied and tasty.

We came here for a bite to eat and overall its alright satisfying but could have been better. As a group of 6, we got a good spread which consisted of Pad Thai & Udon Soup from Teriyaki and roll; whole roast chicken, porketta sandwich, kale salad, and chicharon from Roast; and a baked chicken pot pie from Pie Co.

Overall what really disappointed me was roast because the chicken seemed so juicy when I ordered it but the breast was so dry and the porketta sandwich which had pieces of skin was barely crispy. The pad Thai was great and seemed to be made from real tamarind sauce but was a little disappointed with the missing egg, tofu, bean sprouts. Lastly the pie, the pie was actually really good and flaky out the outside but the interior was a little one dimensioned.

Overall I say roast gets 2 stars, teriyaki and roll gets 3 and Pie Co also 3 stars.

VPM is a great place for casual business meetings, interviews, hanging out and grabbing a bite or working on a project. There is indeed free wifi in the building as well as multiple seating areas for your pleasure.

In the market, there are many different options for food such as, pasta, sandwiches, hamburgers, tacos, sushi, Indian cuisine a bakery and much more. What I enjoy about the market is the hipster/yellow mindset of: 'Lets start a business, make that money but also be mindful of our carbon footprint and be as influential as possible in promoting sustainable resources. Everyone in the market uses biodegradable products and we everyone makes an effort to use reusable dishes when possible.

There is also live music about 3 days a week which creates a lively atmosphere. It's quite busy Monday to Friday during lunch hour rushes due to government workers, construction workers and others that surround the area.

Unfortunately, the weekends at the market are not what they could be. They often do not have live music on weekends and if they do, it will only be one of the two days. The market is just in the outskirts of the core downtown which also makes it a little harder for cruise ship tourists to get there. It would be cool if the market was lively on the weekend as it is during the week. It's a great place to hang out and meet new people!

Victoria Public Market is comparable to The Pike Market in Seattle, the Granville Island Public Market in Vancouver and the Milwaukee Public Market in Wisconsin. Now California, please tell me why we are still struggling to provide a public Market in the Bay Area?

Victoria's Public Market is nowhere in size the same as the public market in Vancouver, but it still does justice. A very small market with about nine to ten vendors; offering some delicious food items, a small child care and a small grocery store near the street entrance. Don't come here with high expectations because you may be slightly disappointed. It's a small 'food hall' or small gourmet shopping center with a handful of business and vendors. It definitely does wonders if you are looking for a quick lunch spot and don't want to spend an arm and a leg for a meal.

My first time coming to this location was during my wonderful trip to Victoria in May 2017.
So, wondering what my top favorite vendors are and why? Well, keep on reading to find out:

-Roast -sales the best sausage rolls that I have ever put in my mouth!!! I would strongly encourage you to try this place, you will not regret it.
-Olive of Senses-Experience all the lovely olive oils and balsamic vinegar! Yum!
-Victoria Pic Co.-Has some oh' so delicious pies out of this world! Let me tell you, I came in around 10AM and the lovely woman was still making pies! I hurried and bought some fresh out of the oven pies and devoured them in that Market! Wowzers!

Overall, the market offers something for everyone; a wide selection of different foods and an array of gifts. Don't forget to try out that tasty French Bakery, where the aroma just smacks you in the face as you walk through the entrance.

If you're expecting something like Granville Island, you'll be sorely disappointed, so don't have those hopes too high.

The "market" is all indoors and consists of less than 12 stalls, not too small, of primarily food or food-related places. Later on a Sunday afternoon, market was dead - maybe a handful of shoppers.

To give you an idea, there was a florist, a Mexican stall (selling $10 Pozole), an Indian-fusion place, a chocolate stall selling a variety of bars/treats from around the world, the Victoria Pie Company, Olive The Senses, a bakery, and a small/local grocers. At the time of my visit, there were no produce stalls.

It's ok as a walk through, but you can't exactly spend an afternoon here because it's too small.

I don't know name, but there was a chocolate stall
Chocolate from all over the world!
