ViVi Family Day Care

ViVi Family Day Care is one of the best things to happen to our family.

Prior to our first child being born, we visited and vetted what seemed like countless day care centers, both large and small.  We ultimately felt more comfortable with the family-run model, and above all the most comfortable with Ms. Van.  When meeting her we could sense her caring and nurturing nature, and when meeting her children it was clear that she raised three intelligent, gracious daughters of her own.

Of course we were still nervous that first day dropping off our first baby.  That nervousness quickly went away.  Ms. Van offers the love and guidance that a parent themselves would provide.  Over time Ms. Van's daughters became like older sisters to our kids, helping them gain confidence and grow socially and emotionally.  Our kids graduated from ViVi Family Day Care healthy, happy, and well prepared for Kindergarten.  We are forever grateful to Ms. Van and her family; they will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Where do I begin? Van and her family have been an absolute blessing and have become part of our family. Our LO has been going to ViVi Family Day Care since she was 4 months old, she's now 11 months.

They care for her and all of the children as if they were their own. Van and Thompson have three wonderful, caring, and bright girls who love the kids...and our LO adores them. She has three big sisters :)

We receive photos of our LO playing with her friends, reading, sleeping, and eating. They take walks to the park and play in the backyard that is perfect for kiddos. They are always working on fun projects from creating butterfly gardens to painting, pizza making, and gardening.

Van works miracles with the children.

She teaches them manners, how to eat with utensils, sit at the big kid table, and cleanup.

She works to have everyone potty trained by 2. Our LO started using the potty when she was 10 months old (if not sooner).

She works with them individually on reading, writing, and math. She has a feelings board so everyone knows how to talk about how they are feeling everyday.

They cook healthy, organic meals and provide yummy snacks throughout the day.

I could go on and on and on. It's tough to get a spot with Van because once you're in, families tend to stay in until kindergarten. But things change, so give her a call and get on that waiting list. It's well worth it!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mrs. Van and Vivi Family Day Care!

Mrs. Van is one of those people you dream of finding when you have children and are looking for care for them. We have worked with her and known her for 2 1/2 years.

WIth my 2 young boys, I want them to feel loved, cared for, safe, and respected. I want them to be taught kindness and the joys of play and laughter. I also want them to be fed nutritious home-cooked meals, to be supported in getting rest/naps during the day, get plenty of fresh air and sunshine, and to become potty-trained when they are ready. On top of that, I want to know what they experienced during the day and to be able to communicate openly with their caregivers.

Well, Mrs. Van does all of this and MORE! You would be fortunate to have Mrs. Van in your children's' lives, just as we are. She's one-in-a million.

I recommend Ms. Van to you without reservation. It is a great feeling as a parent to be able to work each day and leave your precious child with someone you can trust to take the very best care of your child. I hope that everyone is as lucky as I am to have Ms. Van. She is simply the BEST!!!!

As most of the reviews, I also met Ms. Van at one the childcenter in Alameda, back in 2006 when I enrolled by eldest daughter there. She is wonderful, caring, loving, dependable, trustworthy, a dedicated teacher to all children. I really appreciate her smile. She always comes over and acknowledges us when we enter the facility. It comforts me when she holds my daughter while I leave for work knowing that she is in good hands. And this is why I also enrolled my second daughter at the same facility.

But when Ms. Van left that childcenter a few months ago, I cannot imagine leaving my second daughter (she's 3) at the center. So we decided to move her with Ms. Van. And I tell you, we absolutely made the right decision. My daughter loves her so much and her entire family. She's so cute, she even call her "fake mommy" and Thompson (Ms. Van's husband), "fake daddy" and all her kids as "fake sisters.

My daughter loves the fact that she is not restricted to one location. They go on small trips (weather permitted) going to the park, farmers market, etc. She is very content and happy all the time.

One thing I also love is Ms. Van sends pictures to me via text message like when their eating, biking, at the farmers market, park, while she's sleeping, etc.

Again, she is truly the BEST!!!!

Ms. Van and Vivi Family Day Care is truly a Mommy's dream come true. It's not easy to find someone who will love and care for your child the way you would want and Ms. Van is that type of patient and loving caregiver. We have known Miss Van for the past year as she took care of my son who is almost 3 and she's now taking care of my 9 month old daughter.

When I had to return to work and my mother-in-law, who had been caring for my daughter, had to return to S. California, Ms. Van and her family were a blessing for my husband and I. It only took one day for my daughter to adjust and Ms. Van was fantastic in terms of establishing a solid daily routine that include healthy home-cooked meals, naptime, circle time, time outdoors (weather permitting) as well as learning specific to my daugher's development.

Ms. Van will treat your children like her own children, who by the way are awesome well-mannered girls. We're extremely lucky to have Vivi Family Daycare.

So many wonderful things have already been said about Ms. Van and her family, and they are all true. My son started with Van when he was only 4 months old. He is now over 2 years old and with every day we are more thankful and blessed that we found Van to take care of our son. I know without a doubt that Van and her family love my son and care for him as if he is part of their own family. I have several mommy friends that got stuck with "I just watch your kids" type of daycare providers. Van DOES NOT run that kind of a center. She truly cares about the physical/emotional/educational development of each child. We are so lucky to have found Van and her family :)

I highly recommend Vivi's Family Daycare wholeheartedly. Over the past 1.5 yrs, Ms. Van and her family have become an extension of our family and we feel so lucky to have found them. My daughter has been going to Vivi Family Daycare since she was 4.5 months old and she is now over 2 years old and we just get happier and happier with her care as time goes by. Van is magical with kids. She strikes the perfect balance of educator and nurture, giving the kids the love they need but also constantly focusing on building their skills and learning. We have been amazed at how quickly our two year old is learning things like her letters, numbers as well as softer skills like sharing and gentleness.

We always know that our daughter is safe and well taken care of with Ms. Van and Thompson. We don't know what we would do without them!

Vivi Family Day care is run and owned by non other than the amazing Ms. Van who was formerly at Sugar and Spice Preschool in Alameda. I was fortunate to have both my girls under her care when they first joined Sugar and Spice and they always came home singing her praises and wanting to spend more time with her.

My top most priority in finding the right place for my children was for them to feel secure, safe and comfortable. Ms. Van took care of all three the first week that were in her care. With her daily hugs and genuine love for all her tiny tots, no one wanted to leave. It's hard to find someone that has unconditional love for a job....especially when it's dealing with infants and toddler on a daily basis. .....but with Ms. Van- that is possible and inevitable! She is definitely a child whisperer.

Her 19 years of experience has now taken her to a new chapter - Her own facility..Vivi Family Daycare- wohooo! I urge anyone looking for a home away from home for their precious children to contact Ms. Van to see if she has openings.

We love Ms Van and her family! Ms Van taught at my daughter's preschool and when she graduated she was so sad to not see her every day. Van is one of those special people who loves children, and I totally trust her with mine. I have had her watch my girls (5 yo and 7 month old) on days when I had to work and needed her help. She kept in touch all day with texts and pictures --so awesome! I endorse her whole heartedly.

I was so lucky to get a spot for my daughter at Vivi Family day care. The first time I came to their house, I absolutely trusted Van and was so happy to meet this family. She is very professional and treats all kids like her own. She is so passionate for her job. My daughter has been going to the day care since she was 9 months old, and honestly she wasn't an easy kid, and it took a lot of time to adjust her to a new environment. It was a difficult time for me, for Van and her family, and of course for my baby. Van, her husband Thompson were working so hard, and were so patient. Now my daughter is happy. She found new friends, and is developing so fast. I would recommend Vivi Family day care to my friends and relatives.
