Wabukuro is set up like a small (mainly to-go) cafe with a selection of Japanese snacks, drinks, and instant noodles.
If snacks aren't what you're craving, their hot menu features bento-style lunches from chicken karaage bentos to curry udon.
They also have a display counter to tempt you with sushi rolls and this amaaaazing egg sandwich.
The egg filling is roughly chopped perfectly soft boiled egg (like what you would get in your ramen), mixed with kewpie mayo, and possibly a pinch of secret spices.
If you're in the area, you have to try it. It's a go-to to-go spot!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - May 22, 2024
Small cafe for bento and other quick Japanese meals. Packaged frozen desserts (ice cream, popsicles, etc) are available in a freezer if you want to grab something sweet after your meal, and Oi-Ocha tea bottles (only the matcha variety while I was there) or bottled water to wash it down. Staff are very polite.
I got the vege katsu bento. This is almost like a secret item since it's not displayed on the online or outside menu, just taped onto the menu at the counter. I think they should at least add it online so that people can see they have a vegetarian choice! It was ready very quickly, and the dumplings and katsu were nice and hot. The veggie katsu was not one large cutlet but four smaller pieces, kind of like vegetarian "chicken" nuggets. I liked them. My favourite part of the bento was actually the egg salad; the mashed texture was just right. The bento consisted of lot of pre-cooked stuff thrown together, so it's missing the appeal of a fresh-cooked meal, but for a quick convenience meal it was very nice. There was a good assortment of dishes in the bento and the complete meal was satiating but not too heavy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 29, 2021

Part takeout restaurant, part Japanese grocery store, Wabukuro is known for their bento boxes. They are made fresh to order and remind me of a home cooked Japanese meal. I was impressed with the quality of their ingredients and would highly recommend if needing excellent quick food in the Stadium skytrain area.

Convenient takeaway food chock full of flavors and textures.
We ordered the grilled fish bento which included 2 generous sized portions of Sockeye Salmon.
The accoutrements including the egg, dumpling, potato salad, seaweed salad etc... were well prepared.
Nice meal that's fairly priced.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Leeza N.Vancouver, Canada164291834Oct 9, 2021
Stopped by here since I was in the area and wanted to buy myself a quick dinner for later. The inside of the store has a small Japanese snacks/grocery area and some tables to sit at. They had some items already premade in the glass which was nice for those who just wanted a quick takeout! I decided to order the chicken kaarage bento box which was $11.50. It took about 10 minutes for my bento to be ready but I didn't mind because they were frying my kaarage which I liked that it was fresh. Along with the kaarage, the bento box came with white rice, Japanese potato salad, green bean gomae, seaweed salad, mini sausage, half of a soft boiled egg, shredded pork cha shu and pickled radish. I loved how this bento had a little bit of everything and it was so filling and flavourful. All the ingredients were high quality and fresh. I definitely will return to try more items from their menu!
