I came in with my littler so he could open his first bank account with his "street money."

("Money I found on the ground", that's how he labeled his three Mason jars.)

He's such a good little saver that over four years, he dutifully put all those found coins plus $5 bills for St. Paddy's, his birthday and a $100 bill for the day he lost **five teeth!

(Before putting it under his pillow, I scraped glitter from a greeting card onto the bill, 'fairy dust' from the "Tooth Very's" wings, that's what he used to call the "tooth fairy.")

Now that he's 12, it was time to show him how banks work and have him think of short term goals (a coveted Lego set) and long term goals (saving up for a European tour with other kids/adult chaperones).

It's never too young to start good money habits. He's excited to make an occasional deposit and see his balance grow.

Why are there so many negative reviews?

Let me start off that I didn't have your typical experience. I walked into the bank to get coins and well they only had two people working. 1 person who would open accounts and the 2nd person who was the branch manager, Linda.

So I walked in and there is no bank teller. Turns out there was an emergency and they were shorthanded. Linda lets me know she can help me but I just have to go outside to the ATMs (which there are like 4 of them btw, so never a wait) and withdrawal cash to bring back in where she can swap me for the coins. Not your ideal experience right, but I was okay with it because you know what life happens.

Linda was super great and tried to help people as much as possible. The person behind me came in to deposit a check and she helped show them how to do so at the ATM.

Linda was super kind and apologetic. Some people that walked in weren't happy, but again we all have life happen and Linda was helping as much as possible. The guy who helps you with opening accounts was on a call too.

I had never walked into that branch before, but while I didn't have an ideal experience, it was a good one for the situation.

The Inner Sunset branch of Wells Fargo has undergone a transformation: a redesign--it can't be called redecorating as there is no decoration whatsoever in the new decor--from a welcoming, warm and colorful design to a shockingly cold, stark, colorless style reminiscent of the brutalist, Stalinesque era.
There is not one poster or picture to be design, the walls are utterly bare. The interior has been robbed of all color: absolutely everything is done in matching, pale beige. Where there used to be bankers' desks of dark wood, with blue upholstered chairs, there are now five cubicles that looks like beige shipping cartons--completely closed boxes. No clue what their interiors look like.

The impression is of a soulless business, where every banker and every customer is precisely the same and will be treated in a manner that gives no hi t of individuality, warmth, helpfulness.

I have never seen a business that has gone so far in conveying their dedication to a cold, mechanistic approach. Wells Fargo, whose scandalous treatment of customers a decade ago has not been forgotten, has made themselves, in this shocking redesign, into a mechanistic, inhumane entity. Think Kafka, trying unsuccessfully to get through to an institution's inner sanctum.

Whomever carried out this redesign appears to be one of those corporate bigwigs whose lack of empathy, rigid compliance with customer-merely-a-source of income ideas has made this Wells Fargo branch as welcoming as a cold shower. The decor, the horrible lack of it, states in no uncertain terms, that you can expect no personal relationship with a banker, no actual help, but instead a corporate giant uninterested in the human beings who give it their money.

      Really: read Kafka, read Gogol.

Horrible service. I went to the branch on 24th st in San Francisco 3 times now taking time from work, for a simple service, and they still have not been able to do it. I have been with WF for 16 years and I am closing my account today.

Employees refuse to exchange small amounts of money for quarters. This is a basic banking service that should be available to anyone. I recommend going elsewhere with your business

This is my neighborhood Wells Fargo Branch and am usually very pleased with the service I receive on a regular basis. This review is specifically about the service I received on 2 occasions from Timothy Kwong. I came in to the bank looking for information and guidance.
He gave me minimal information and said he'd call me the following week to follow up, but did not. I went back 4 weeks later and when I told him that I expected him to follow up, he said he had been sick the day before. When I told him that I was I in 3-4 weeks ago, he changed the subject. I had some more questions, so I proceeded to meet with him and ask my questions. I found out later that he gave me misinformation. He said he'd call me back the following week and NEVER did...he can talk the talk but has ZERO follow through. I have been with Wellsfargo for over 30 years and he makes me want to switch banks. Timothy is not be someone that should deal with customers.

Super short lines, the most I've ever encountered is 2 people. Linda Low (Store Manager) is on point. Very friendly and attentive staff. Tellers, bankers and managers are all great.

I had to sit down with a banker (Noel Pastrana) and we ironed out some issues. He gave me a summary of our conversation and called me the next day to follow up. That's service!

I am always impressed with the teller service at Wells Fargo.

All the tellers are extremely cordial, friendly and helpful. They constantly ask how they can help me and address me very professionally by saying "Ms (insert last name)." Sometimes, the people in front of me take awhile with the teller but the teller are prompt and considerate.

They even told me about the free credit score report which I did and I had a very informative session with one of the lady about it. She was very helpful.

Overall, I had great customer service here. I will definitely come back.

      Side note:
I am not the biggest fan of Wells Fargo Banking/Checkings because I always feel like there's hidden charges, I've been through a lot of those but in terms of customer service, they do what they can so I appreciate that. Just always remember to ask the right questions and know what you're getting yourself into whenever you open a checking/saving/credit card (ask about those fees and restrictions, etc!).
