I brought my utility trailer here to get a few modifications done so I could haul my bike. I brought the trailer for them to provide me with an estimate, they told me it wouldn't be a big job and would cost $350 for labor and maybe another $50 for parts. I came in to my appointment expecting to spend $400 maybe $450, but oh was I wrong. They charged me $650 for the work which was $250 more than the estimate I was provided. They ended up charging me $400 for labor and another $220 for all the parts required. I really wish I was told about the price change before I brought it in or at least before they put it in. Really caught me by surprise. Other than that, the quality of the work was great!

I have used them for years on my MasterCraft to do routine maintenance and to fix the odd thing or two that went wrong. Last year they did a brilliant job in replacing a jammed steering cable which was a really tricky job. They always meet 100% of my very high expectations.

This is a great shop. I live in Martinez, but this is my shop. They're very good at what they do, they're knowledgeable and most importantly, they're honest.
I'm a gear head, and I'm picky about whom wrenches on my boat, or vehicles.
I've had West Coast Offshore do my maintenance, install new controls, correct my wiring work I just had done on my 22' Cougar cat with a 496 Magnum HO.
West Coast also ordered and installed 2 Lavorsi voltage gauges that exactly matched my boats existing gauges. I had done a modification and installed some aftermarket gauges, but they weren't a match. The Lavorsi's had to be custom made, but the gauges plus the rings were an exact match to my existing gauges.
West Coast also corrected my electrical system from work just done at a high end stereo shop in Rancho Cordova. The stereo shop installed the ACR incorrectly, and used some cheap a$$ wiring, and cut corners. West Coast Offshore fixed all that mess. It was 10-hours to fix that junk. But they relocated the battery switch to make it much easier to see/access, and completed every little favor I requested.
So now the boat has 2 separate electrical circuits. One circuit is dedicated for the starting battery, and all other power is provided from the House battery. When the engine runs, it charges the starting battery. Once the charging voltage exceeds ~13.8, the ACR sends charging voltage to the house battery. So with this system, the stereo and house power come from battery 2, and you can't run down the starting battery, battery 1.
When my new controls were installed, they found the O/D trim limit switch to be disconnected, and they corrected a few other issues.
West Coast Offshore stands behind their work. After the new controls were installed, the neutral safety switch went bad, and the boat wouldn't start. They had the part overnighted, and I had the boat back in 1-day.
If anyone is curious why I don't take my boat to a repair shop in / near Martinez, perhaps a quick story can help explain. I went to a shop that's been in Martinez for decades, and needed 2-quarts of O/D lube. They said $45.00 ea. Wow, I'll just take one quart then...and no thanks for the offer to service my boat...

This is a family run business headed by the owner Kevin. His daughters are also a big part of this operation. Very busy place but will get back to you in a timely manner. They are busy for a reason. They know what they're doing. Kevin and his daughter Jordan are very hands-on I do good work. I take that back, they do great work. I wouldn't trust anybody else to do any work on my boat. I know if they put hands on it then I'm safe out there on the ocean. They make honest recommendations on what should be done and what can wait.
they may be backed up at the moment but it's supply chain issues with parts. availability is pretty scarce out there so be patient but it's worth the wait.

Bought my first boat 2019 A SEA RAY.Open Bow ski boat . The person that I bought it from said it has been serviced already . Took it to west coast offshore to have it looked at. They checked the boat out and told me it was not serviced. So Kevin and his crew took care of my boat.Serviced it and replaced some worn out parts on the outdrive. Very happy with their services. Great people and very honest . Also later down the road I had Kevin install a wakeboard tower plus extra battery on the boat so I wouldn't get stuck on the water playing the stereo I recommend if you have a boat with any problems take it to them they do great work

Why is it so hate to find honest mechanic?
      (2 stoke out board)
Fuel squeeze ball broke on the water, replaced it, boat won't stay running. #2 carb leaks gas. Took it to WC. Perf. They said they rebuilt the carbs (this motor has 3 carbs) and replaced the fuel line all for $700. Finally get it out to the launch ramp and same problem, won't stay running. So I just paid $700 for a new fuel line. They didn't rebuild sh!t! Carb still leaks! Boat don't run!

I hate to write bad reviews but I've had a very bad experience with this business. They're very unresponsive and doesn't follow up on their calls.

It all started with my motor bogging out and shutting down. A friend of mine referred me to them. Even though they're really out the way, I figure I'll give them a try. My friend was nice enough to tow my boat all the way to them. I talked to them and they said they can fix the problem and quoted me about $1800 and I agreed. They said I might be able to have my insurance pay for it but that was a failed attempt and waste of time.

After I gave them the ok to get to work on the motor, they said they'll have it done in 2 weeks. A little pass 2 weeks and I didn't get a call. I called them to check out what's going on. They said there's a part that they need to fix the motor and it'll be there in a few days for the delivery and they'll call me to update me. That day came and passed and no call. So I called them again. They told me they need more time to work on the motor because they wanted to make sure they gave the motor back in top condition. They gave me another date when it'll be done.

That day came and still no call. I waited a few more days and I called them again. They told me a few more days and it'll be done. Finally it's done and they told me it's fix and the total would be $3200, double what was quoted. He mention that there was a problem that he could not fix but motor should be good to use but might give me problems later in the future. I took the boat out and motor is still bogging out so I called them and the owner or one of the mechanic told me he didn't work on that problem of the motor even though I told him what problems I was having with the motor. He says he'll call Yamaha and get back to me. Few weeks go by and still no call. So I take the boat out again to test it.

The motor still bogs out and when I came out of the water, the motor started to leak oil from the top of the motor again. I called them and told them the motor is leaking again. The mechanic never got on the phone with me and never told me what Yamaha had told him about my motor. Told me I have to take motor back to the person I bought it from.

I had told him before this all started that I got screwed by 2 other mechanics and he assured me that's not how they operate business. I talked to another mechanic a few days ago and he said the motor bogging out could be oil pressure problem if that's the case they never fixed my oil leak problem. That's my experience with this business and I wanted to share.

I scoured the internet looking for the best custom swim platform designs. Then I found West Coast Offshore Unlimited. I waited more than three months before Kevin had time to start my project. It was a complicated swim platform for my 38' DONZI for the Catalina Ski Race. I'll cut to the chase, Kevin is a true craftsman, talented, and quality shop owner. I couldn't be happier with the swim platform, the fit and finish was excellent! Everything fit to my templates exactly! Price was great too. The swim platform was powder coated to my request with second coat of clear. The picture can't do justice on how great it looks and sturdy it is. I'm very happy with his art!
      Thanks Kevin!

Kevin and his family have been working on my boat since 2012. He has literally done everything to my boat. Repaired the hull, serviced, winterized, trailer service, repainted my boat, new interior.

Kevin ALWAYS has boats in his yard no matter what time of year. He does all types and brands of boats. He's your one stop shop for anything boat related. Usually takes a week or so to get your boat in so call ahead to schedule a drop off! But the wait is worth it. Kevin has never oversold me on anything and will give you options. Zero pressure and will tell you what you need and DONT need.

Family owned and affordable more than the big big shops with tons of overhead.
