Is the mall open on new year day?

      A:

I know for sure the Arden Fair Mall is so I would also say Westfield Galleria at Roseville will be open too.

Are dogs allowed? I've seen people walking their dogs (not service animals) and there's no issue. However, some of the answers below say dogs are not allowed. Thank you!!

      A:

It doesn't matter. People don't care about such rules anymore, and businesses are too afraid to enforce them. We are increasingly becoming a lawless nation. Governors, Attorney Generals, judges, and everyone else just do as we please now,… more

It can be very challenging in giving a shopping mall a fair rating. You have to factor in the amount of stores, eateries, parking situation, cleanliness, and overall customer service given within each business. With my observation of having gone to enough malls in my lifetime, many of them fall in the two to three star rating bracket. Which is why "Westfield Galleria at Roseville" scores an impressive four-star rating to me.

I do have to say, this mall ranks up there as one of the best malls in California. The only others that are as impressive are the "Beverly Center" in Los Angeles, "Stanford Shopping Center" in Palo Alto, and "Fashion Valley" in San Diego. And when Westfield Galleria at Roseville opened back in 2000, it was an earth-shattering experience to residents that live in Placer County that even has an impact on people who reside in nearby Sacramento and Eldorado Counties.

I clearly remember when this mall opened. It was coincidentally the time when I relocated from the Bay Area to finish college. And at that time, the greater Sacramento area offered its major competition, "Arden Fair Mall" in the Arden/Arcade neighborhood, "Downtown Plaza" (most of which is demolished and now home to "Golden One Center"), the dilapidated "Florin Mall" in South Sacramento, and the smaller "Sunrise Mall" in Citrus Heights.

Originally named "Galleria at Roseville" until Westfield acquired it back in 2002, this mall has pretty much everything you can ask for to make your shopping experience a pleasant one. The open air environment provides a very spacious and pleasing look to many that stroll through on any given day. And with the revenue being such a sensation during its first few years (especially during the strong economy at the time), the mall underwent a major expansion back in 2008-09 that added an amazing dining terrace, enlarging anchor stores such as "Macy's and "JCPenney", and welcoming major restaurants such as "Cheesecake Factory" and "Land Ocean American Grill".

You will find many very affordable stores such as "Daiso", "Charlotte Russe", "American Eagle", "Forever 21", and "H&M". And also some of the more upscale stores such as "Apple Store", "Tiffany & Co.", "Coach", "Abercrombie & Fitch", "Louis Vuitton", "Burberry", and "Hugo Boss". What really impresses me is the food establishments as they offer simple cheap eats such as "Panda Express" & "McDonalds" but some more upscale dining establishments such as "Gordon Biersch Brewery" and "Buckhorn Grill" (inside the food court), as well as a "Pluto's", "Ruth's Chris Steak House", and "Il Fornaio" (which are actually outside of the mall).

With the mass amount of shopping that comes here on a regular basis, the one downfall that I have found is the parking. When the mall itself went through their major expansion process, they built a much needed multi-story parking garage. This is usually where I park my vehicle and walk a very short way into the 2nd story of the mall entrance. More often than not, its not that difficult. However, I try to avoid coming here at all costs from Thanksgiving (late-November) to around New Year's (early-January). Sometimes weekends can be a tad busy but that's purely based on the popularity and recognition that this mall receives.

Overall, this mall can be very overwhelming for many as it is very large. But it serves its purpose by providing a very enjoyable shopping experience. I am not a big mall shopper compared to others but when you are looking for a special item for yourself or someone else, this mall definitely does not disappoint. And as Roseville is now the shopping center mecca with the nearby "Fountains at Roseville" as well as many other major retailers and restaurants across the street on Galleria Blvd., it truly is your one stop shop. With that said and done, this will be my go-to mall for years to come.

This is my favorite shopping spot in the Sacramento area! I am even willing to commute from Elk Grove just to shop here. This Westfield offers a diverse range of shopping. From toys, spas, luxury, department, clothing, to movie theaters and arcades. There is something for everyone at this galleria! They also have great restaurants selection, with a very nice food court and outdoor seating. I also like that they have pickle ball courts and and outdoor playground.

Parking can be a bit confusing, but there is tons of it. You'll never have difficulty finding a spot. The layout of the mall is confusing as well but you get used to it the more you visit. It's a massive place, so you'll be doing lots of walking.

I feel like as the years go on, the galleria is becoming better and better. They are always upgrading things. Overall a classic spot for Sac locals!

Coming from the Bay Area to live in Lincoln Ca I'm so glad to have this giant mall to shop at . This mall is huge ! They also have more shopping areas like The Fountains which is literally across the street it reminds me a little bit of Santana Row in San Jose . So if you are in the Galleria mall make sure to stop at the beautiful Fountains . This mall has a two story Forever 21 with a middle outdoor play area for the kiddos and also pickle ball . There is a smaller play area for smaller kids inside.

They have a great selection of stores . The inside is very nice on Christmas time. They have a huge tree with Santa Claus for photos . For dinning options you have a nice food court with all the typical mall food . They also have a huge seating area inside with an additional outside second level seating option to sit and see the beautiful sunsets . For more fine dinning they have my favorite steak house Ruth Chris and also Cheese Cake Factory, Land and Ocean, and soon they will have Q1227 restaurant coming to the mall so excited for that . If you want to take a break and grab an adult drink they have Tapville located not too far from the food court. You could sit down relax for a second with an adult beverage of your choice pretty sweet.

Overall this mall is one of the nicest malls around the Sacramento area . It's normally pretty packed since I believe people will come and take that drive to the Galleria Mall. This is a great mall to shop and also eat at some of the good restaurants after shopping. Definitely will keep coming back . So glad to be so close to this mall .

Visited this mall over the thanksgiving weekend. It was amazing and it had a lot of stores for everyone. Mall was very clean and it had a good layout. Even though it was crowded, there was enough room to walk and talk a stroller around.

Parking was tight but again it could be because of Black Friday. We visited an area which kids played and our kiddo thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of other kids were playing there so it was certainly a hit.

First time, I visited in 2013/2014 ish. Most recent visit was June 22. My friend wanted to go to Journey's for a pair of Birkenstocks. The mall itself was clean and tidy. It was free of loose trash, and the floors looked clean. My friend had to use the restroom, and while I waited for her, I used the Dippin' dots vendin machine outside Macy's (downstairs). Living in Reno. I don't make it to the Sacramento/Roseville area often, but this mall is definitely stop-worthy.

It may be that I am a country bumpkin, but traveling out of town and visiting this mall...FANCY!!!

Not only do they have high-end retailers like Tiffany, Louis Vuitton and Kate Spade, they have a store that only sells sparkly slime. How is this a thing? And it was fairly crowded!

I had an inexpensive food court dinner at the Thai restaurant and only cost 13 bucks! Including a boba drink.

I don't come out to the Galleria too often since Roseville is a good drive from me. But more recently I've been coming out to the Galleria when needing to shop, to avoid the issues that are becoming more common at Arden.

Was here most recently after years since my last visit, in an attempt to look for wedding attire. Found everything that I was looking for between several shops that I knew would do the trick. And what I couldn't find in-store, I looked for and found online from the store of interest.

I like the wide range of stores that you'll find at the Galleria, which makes shopping in one place at lot easier.

On a quick shopping weekend, my friend, and I went to both this mall and the Arden Fair. Hands-down this place was much better and worth the extra 20 minutes east!

We didn't encounter any issues. Shopped at the stores that aren't available near us as well as the old faithful ones. I'm not a high-end shopper so I did not miss the ones available in San Jose at Valley Fair.

How do you rate a mall?

Food court had plenty of choices plus there were some higher end options. We ate dinner at Land and Ocean then picked up Cheesecake Factory dessert

Hubbies enjoyed the movie theater while the wives shopped

      Bathrooms were clean.
We noticed Security but never felt anything negative.
      Parking was no issue.

This is a clean mall, seems new-ish to me. It has flagship stores like Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Tiffany & Co, Louis Vuitton, etc.

It has a arcade/game place for kids and adults and a bungee cord thing for little kids. As well as, a Cinemark move theater!

Parking was terrible, as it was super crowded at the mall! But, the temp was in the triple digits.
