We needed a different type of gas line installed for a new dryer. Wizard plumbing was able to come out within 2 hours of my call to them. The guys who came (Mo and Abraham) were extremely helpful and respectful. They worked hard and quickly, got everything done, and were very thorough. Super professional, easy to deal with, and extremely fast response time. Thank you!

After I call the Wizard I receive the technician's face picture and text message in advance. So I had a good sense of security who to show up.
Benjamine came with a wonderful smile, and he fixed the problem in 10 mininutes. I never imagine how fast and efficiently he solved the issue. I am amased and impressed his skill sets and experiences because a couple days ago a different technitian from different company came, but he could not fix the problem and charge me the new volve.
I definately recommend Benjamine for his superb work?

Long story short: I flushed something I shouldn't have and was totally out of my element because I know zilch about toilets. Wizard was the only plumbing company near me that could dispatch a technician on the same day. Tracy from Wizard called me back and worked with the dispatcher to set up an appointment. Within half an hour, Jonathan, a Wizard technician, arrived at my home. He flushed my toilet multiple times to confirm the absence of blockages. He mentioned the possibility of using an auger, but recommended against it since the toilet flushed properly, and the auger service would cost $200+. I really appreciated his honesty. I was also freaking out about destroying the septic system of my building / neighborhood / city, and Jonathan reassured me that was unlikely. Thank you, Jonathan! And thank you to Tracy and Kirk for scheduling the service call!
This is the second time I've called Wizard. I'm very impressed by their promptness and professionalism, as well as their ability to dispatch technicians at odd hours of the day. I would definitely recommend them.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Benjamin G.Oakland, CA2314Jul 23, 2024
I don't like writing negative reviews but I can't recommend this provider, or trust their business practices.
Wizard Pluming installed a pressure booster in our condo unit in Woodside, in December 2023. The installation was a pain - they had to come back multiple times to fix issues they kept forgetting about (eg, replacing the pressure gauge, removing old parts they left behind, etc). It got done, eventually. Once installed, the pump started making loud noises and leaking, which they ignored and stopped responding to my inquiries about.
Fast forward 6 months, the hardware they installed fails altogether. Wizard Plumbing comes to assess the issue, and quotes me an ADDITIONAL $950 to replace the pump under warranty.
Highly recommend getting a different plumber.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apple P.Belmont, CA0181Jun 6, 2024
I have used them a few times over the years. It's a fairly large company with several employees and it seems like your satisfaction will depend on who they send. This is a consolidated review of my 3 separate interactions with them over the last ~5 years.
1. I wanted my landscape drain hydro-jetted because those pipes are not as sturdy as a sewer pipe. I couldn't get hydro-jetting from small plumbing companies as it is a heavy equipment that comes in a trailer, and small companies don't have them. They didn't want to give a quote over the phone. OK. They came and quoted $650 and said that they will throw in a camera inspection for free. Won't they need to do a camera inspection as part of the free estimate anyway?! That felt weird to me. I didn't want to argue over that and went with the job. It was done satisfactorily.
2. Needed to replace the house sewer line. Clog identified by another small company that does not do replacement. We were told that we had "Orangeburg" pipe and that was cracked. Got a couple of quotes, all roughly the same ($14,000). We choose Wizard. Work was done satisfactorily through trenchless pipe-bursting. The crew did this well, and put all the landscaping back as if nothing was done there. This was a good experience.
3. This one was a bad experience. I think it was the 2021-2022 rain season when there were heavy rains with atmospheric rivers. Backyard flooded and the landscape drain could not keep up. The same pipe that was hydro-jetted a few of years before. Wizard was the first company I contacted in Fall before the next rain season. The person did a camera inspection. He showed me that the pipe was broken on the camera. Pipe camera is not easy to understand for inexperienced eyes like mine. I could see that the pipe was not in a single piece where he showed me. He recommended pipe-bursting to replace the pipe that drains to the street. Quote was $9,000 for replacing the drain pipe, fixing up the sidewalk that they would have to dig up to pull the new pipe from, and hydro-jet all the french drains in the backyard that feed into the drain pipe.
I called Pipe-Thru Trenchless Plumbing for another opinion and estimate. He did a camera inspection of the drain pipe and said that he had not seen a pipe in better condition!!! What about the crack that Wizard showed me on the camera?! Oh, that's a tee where the roof downspout connects to the drain pipe! Further he told me that, if I were to replace the pipe he would recommend against pipe-bursting (which Wizard estimator had recommended), because the drain pipe is too shallow and goes under concrete patio. Pipe-bursting could bust up the patio. He recommended pipe lining inside the existing pipe, if there are cracks. His final estimate was $0, no work needed. Why did the backyard flood then? Large yard, super heavy rains and a single drain couldn't handle it, and there is a small dip in the middle.
If I had let Wizard do the pipe-bursting the downspout would not be connected to the drain anymore!!
A few days later I received a text message from Wizard Customer Care Representative, Andrew F. Jr., reminding me about the $9000 quote and whether I wanted to proceed. I replied back politely with my experience and what the other company told me. There was no response from Wizard.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ash S.Burlingame, CA09Aug 29, 2024
Wizard is our go to plumber for all our plumbing needs. Reliable, thorough and dependable.
We just had a backyard remodel and had a sink clog up. Our GC's plumber said the line needed to be cleaned. Max, Ryan and Joe came out and spent 3 hours diagnosing the issue and found cracks in the new plumbing pipes. Without their help, we would have assumed everything was ok and not realized the magnitude of the issue.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pamela P.Belmont, CA01Aug 27, 2024
I have used Wizard Plumbing for the last few years with great success. I had a clogged toilet and very slow draining bath tub.
Kevin Gonzalez showed up at the scheduled time and inspected the problem, all was repaired and working like a charm in no time at all.
Kevin was wonderful at explaining the process to me, was very kind and friendly.
I appreciate Wizard Plumbing and will continue using them!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Trevor D.San Mateo, CA02Aug 26, 2024Updated review
My husband called for the appointment from work, and Wizard texted me with the confirmation of the call, a time estimate, and a photo of the technician I could expect. John Smith showed up right on-time, and was very professional. He seemed to really care about the problem and fixing it for us - even to the point of giving me his direct number so I could let him know immediately if the work he did today didn't do the trick.
My husband and I are very pleased! Thank you Wizard Plumbing!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 8, 2023Previous reviewWe bought a new dishwasher but the hot water valve would not turn off water supply to allow for installation. Do not use them! My tenants complained of a toilet backup that affected the other toilet & showers at midnight so I called any plumber that was available. Wizard plumbing was able to come out first later this morning. I had texted with the woman scheduling and she said the estimate would be free. So the plumber, Glenn, showed up and said I needed 2 new flappers, valves, new piping under my house and a new cap on the line. They wanted to charge me $1400 for just the flapper and valves- crazy! Such a rip off! (The flapper and valve in one of the toilets had just been replaced this May and he said they were old, what?!) The plumber also tried to charge me over $200 for coming to give me the estimate and assessment so I read the text from their scheduling person to prove she said it was free. The plumber also said things to my tenants that caused them anxiety by making them think the house was going to flood right now with sewage when it wasn't that serious. The line was snaked for $275 by another company.
