About the Business
Established in 2023. ANDAMAN'S STORY The Andaman coastline is located in Southern Thailand which where our parents are from. Our father, Chef Thara Saetang serves as our ultimate inspiration. He was a very experienced chef and had been involved in food industry for many decades. Andaman Thai was established in 2018 as a homage to celebrate him. We're a completely family owned restaurant. We as a family have always dreamed of having a uniquely Southern Thai restaurant in the US since immigrating here in 2006. The lessons we’ve learned from our parents growing up in a restaurant has helped us realize our own dreams which is to share, honor and continue their legacy. The Andaman Family.

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in Walnut Creek. It's very flavorful and delicious. The service is fast. I love the drunken noodles, definitely worth a try.
The parking lot has many spots but it is paid parking outside so be prepared for that.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Aug 11, 2024
We came here for Linner. There was not wait for a party of two.
Beautiful modern decor.
The food portions are very generous. The food was very flavorful. Plenty of vegan options for us. I would come back and would recommend this place.
Service was good. We had drink refills without asking.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 22, 2024
Wow. This place is AMAZING! Probably the best Thai food I've ever had. Everything is so fresh and flavorful and their presentation is true art. Came here for my dad's birthday and was surprised at how busy they were for a Sunday; now I know why. All staff are extremely accommodating and thoughtful; the place is clean with great decor. My only negative feedback is having to pay $9 for mango sticky rice, should be closer to 6-7$ and even thats a 200% mark up. Parking is super easy as they have their own lot, but it's metered so you have to pay. We will definitely be back!

We went there on a weekday around 2pm. Even though there were not many customers in, the service was still very slow. We felt like for half of time, we couldn't even find the server. The food was fresh, but very salty. The portion were small. The peanut sauce that came with the shrimp rice roll was so small that we asked them to give us another one, they were rude and wanted to charge us for it. So we said ok. Overall, we didn't enjoy our dining experience :-( I would not recommend it to my friends.

We did a quick search on yelp and this place showed up. We went on a hike nearby but it was really hot and starting to get dark so we decided to grab some food.
I had no expectations for this place since I didn't really get a chance to look through the reviews or pictures but it was a very nice dinner overall. We were seated right away and there were so many art pieces that it took me a moment to take it all in. I felt kinda gross dining in because of the dirt that we trekked in from earlier but the server didn't seem to mind.
I washed up a bit in the bathroom and it was pretty spotless in there. That tells a lot about the restaurant itself.
For food, there were many options but we shared a few plates that included curry, rice and noodles. The portion size was perfect and flavor was really good. I'm always a sucker for anything curry..
I would come back here again if I'm in the area and adding it to my list for recommendations.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - 196207334Jul 11, 2024
If there was a half star option I would give Andaman 4.5.
The flavor on all the dishes are amazing. This place has arguably the best pad Thai in the area. Rich and complex flavors all around. The spicy level is very spicy here. Dish size/proportion is plentiful.
So why one star off? Well mainly we have tried this place multiple times now. Dishes with protein options: beef, chicken, pork is often over cooked and dry on most dishes. All the seafood dishes are great and succulent. The only other caveat is that the Shrimp Pad Thai is a +$6 up charge which is pretty hefty over other places. Would expect a +$2-4 range standard. So the predicament for that dish is stay with dry meats or pay up. The Tofu madness is super spicy, they warned us ahead of time before ordering. Seafood champion is amazing with the savory and sweet seafood ingredients with a hint of spice. With the flavor, texture, and portioning of the dishes I would recommend Andaman.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 16, 20241 check-in
Stopped in for lunch during prime Sunday lunch hour. The place was bustling, so I took this as a good sign AND sure enough, Andaman delivered!
Food was fresh, flavorful and service was perfect.
Dining room is well decorated, clean spacious. It was a little loud, but that's because of how busy it was.
Will definitely make this a go-to spot! Looking forward to returning to work my way through the menu.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jun 17, 20241 check-in
Satay Chicken, the grilled marinated chicken skewers were enjoyable, especially when paired with the flavorful peanut sauce.
Pad See Eew, the pan-fried thick rice noodles with beef, garlic, Chinese broccoli, egg, and soy sauce were delicious. However, if you prefer spicier flavors, you might find this dish a tad mild. The sweeter undertones add a unique touch.
Pineapple Fried Rice, the stir-fried rice with chicken, pineapple, cashew nut, tomato, onion, raisin, and egg was a delightful surprise. The combination of cashew nut and raisin provided interesting layers of flavor. A touch more salt would make it perfect!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - May 30, 2024
Andaman lived up to my expectations! Right from the start- the inviting homey and clean ambiance, friendly and accommodating servers, and delicious well-portioned grub - reinforced my decision to celebrate my dad's birthday here. Plus it's a family owned business!
We ordered a ton of food and were able to make several items vegan since we had my vegan hubz in tow. Our sweet server assured us that most things on the menu can be made vegan, even the curries. We veganized the papaya salad, pineapple fried rice, and drunken noodles.
Not only was the food delicious but the presentation was also drool-worthy. I especially appreciated the use of the pineapple and pumpkin shells, which aesthetically elevated the dishes.
I told my fam that eve that I'm definitely coming back with friends!Helpful 7Thanks 3Love this 6Oh no 1
