Came here to try the fish filet with peppercorn and pickled mustard greens and YaoYao did not disappoint! My friend and I ordered the two flavors, the pickled mustard greens vers and the sichuan pepper version. Both, paired with rice, is like a warm hug from your Chinese grandma. The twice cooked pork with wood ear mushrooms was also flavorful; thinly sliced and not too fatty, which is the perfect balance. We also ordered the cucumber salad for some crunch and refreshing bite.

The all-aqua theme of the restaurant is cute and fun. Lots of large tables for big groups, and the service was friendly and attentive as well.

Came here for their popular fish soup with green mustard green and it did not disappoint. We order half beef and half fish, soy sauce chicken, morning glory stir fry, claypot rice, coconut dessert and some other dessert (forgot the name) haha

Service was quick this time and food came out quick also. All of the food was very good. Left a happy girl. Highly recommend to order the mild fish soup if you are not a big fan of spicy. I can probably skip the beef because it was too spicy for my taste.

I had a terrible time at Yao Yao Restaurant and feel compelled to share my experience. We ordered two dishes - the Yao Yao Suan Cai Yu (Fish Fillet) and Poach Beef With Hot Chili - and waited a painful 40 minutes with nothing showing up at our table.

When we finally flagged down a server, they checked the order sheet and assured us our food was on its way. But get this: the restaurant was about to close in 10 minutes! Faced with the prospect of missing out on our meal, we quickly switched to takeout. But instead of getting our food promptly, we got handed the bill right away. Why the rush to charge us but not to serve us?

And the cherry on top? As we left, a staff member ran after us and handed us the noodle dish we'd ordered, completely forgotten until then. It was just one mistake after another.

In short, Yao Yao Restaurant seriously dropped the ball. Long waits, poor service, and a total lack of attention to detail made this dining experience one to forget.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Not only was our server rude, he was running around the restaurant like a chicken with its head cut off. We had questions about the menu and his tone made us sound like idiots. He threw the iPad on the table and said to just order from there. We wouldn't be asking questions if we knew the answer to them. My mom had to physically go find another worker to get our order sorted out!

We ended up ordering their popular soy sauce chicken and fish with pickled cabbage. The food was decent but not the service (see pictures). As a paying customer, I will NOT be dining here ever again!

We ordered the yaoyao 2 with tomato fish. The soup was so yummy I ended up just eating it with rice. I didn't even go after the other food we ordered.
Another plus, there were no bones in my fish.

The lot is pretty big so we had no trouble finding parking even though it was Valentine's Day.

The workers mostly speak Chinese: mandarin and Cantonese. The menu is in English and Chinese so ordering shouldn't be too difficult

First time here, we are a group of 3, food is delicious, service is great. You can also order from the sister restaurant next door, which is great!

We had the popular 姚姚酸菜魚,拼水煮牛 Suan Cai Yu And Spicy Beef, which is out of the world! (I don't eat very spicy food but still found this dish delicious. I took the left over soup back home and add noodles to it, wow still delicious!)

乾鍋花菜 Dry Pot Cauliflower - too salty. I eat very salty food but still find this way too salty, I guess I will give it one more chance next time, perhaps a small mistakes, will ask for less salty next time.

Soy sauce chicken from restaurant next door - yummy and pretty authentic taste.

Make sure you save some space for the dessert as they are also very yummy, we had 成都冰粉 Chengdu Ice Jelly and 原味雙皮奶 Milk Custaro.

The best thing is they charge 15% service fee instead of 18% (which is almost everywhere).

Great food, nice environment, good service, and reasonable price, what more can you ask for! Highly recommend.

The place is great! Yao Yao specializes in Szechuan cuisine. The food is really good and the entire space was kept pretty clean. It has a somewhat cute, modern Chinese cafe aesthetic. Yao Yao shares a location with Jin Gege, best known for their Cantonese bbq deli. You're able to order from both restaurants at the same time.

There's the option to order for take out, as well as to dine in. I dined in on a Saturday at around 6, and had to wait roughly half an hour for a table for 5 people. Service was decent. You're able to scan the code on the table to order. But my family is on the older end, so the waitress gave us a tablet, which is helpful because the tablet is definitely easier to view than a phone screen. There's also a robot that delivers food.

I know Szechuan cuisine is known to be spicy. We ordered an item that even I, as someone who doesn't have a high spice tolerance, still enjoyed. But I feel that some of their items can be really sliced, great for you spice lovers. The AC was quite strong, I was a bit chilly, but I think it's great for people who are sweating from eating all that spice lol.

I don't understand that my friend and I went to dinner and didn't ask us directly to force us to tip. Two people ordered four things and directly charged our 11-12 dollar tips .Without asking us, just deduct the tip and we won't come back to this place.

Spicy sour fish soup, good, might be too sour, too many numbing pepper need to pick out. Could use some cabbage. Fish is very fresh and good amount.

Pig ear, good, some garlic, good taste, some cucumber and cilantro. Smells good fresh.

*It's always great to find tasty authentic Szechuan in the area. Normally I would have to drive down to San Jose area for this cuisine but this might be my new go-to spot!
*The Fish Fillet & Spicy Beef combo was perfect. Amazing Szechuan flavor. We also had the string beans which were also great. Their Soy Sauce Chicken/Salt Chicken/BBQ Pork combo was a bit overwhelmingly salty for me.
*Service was alright. Nothing spectacular but also not terrible.
*The restaurant itself is very bright and turquoise.
