Yellow Checker Cabs

For many years, it was problematic for me to take a taxi from Berkeley to the Oakland or San Francisco airport. I need a taxi that will arrive at my apartment at the agreed time, and the chance of this happening with most cabs is only about 70%. The emergence of Uber and Lyft did not solve this problem. In my experience, they are simply not sufficiently reliable and foolproof. A couple of years ago I found Yellow Checker cab, and my airport problems are now over. If you arrange for Yellow Checker cab to arrive at 4 pm, they will be there at 3:55 pm. Their drivers are professional, courteous, and they know all of the shortcut tricks to avoid traffic jams. I can finally relax on travel days, knowing that Yellow Checker will get me to the airport on time.

Over the past four years Bob has driven me to appointments and to the airport several times. He is so reliable that you never have to worry if you will get somewhere on time if you have arranged for the ride ahead of time. He is a very kind man who cares about his customers and always asks how I am and how my family is. I can't recommend him highly enough!

I just called to ask about scheduling a ride to the Oakland airport and the guy on the phone yelled angrily at me saying "I'm in Berkeley!! PLEASE!!!" and hung up on me. Real nice of him to be so rude for literally no reason. Why does the description on Yelp say they can serve the Bay Area if that isn't true? Even their website says they service the surrounding cities around Berkeley. If you look at the other 1 star reviews on this page, you'll find a trend: hostility, anger, and being hung up on. Don't recommend even bothering with this business.

I travel a lot and I rely on Bob to take me to and from the airport on a regular basis. No matter when I need him, he will be there. His is a service that you should book in advance, using his website if you have never hired him before,, because he's a single driver rather than a whole fleet -- he can't always pick you up at a moment's notice. But he feels a real responsibility for his customers and works hard to please them. A kind soul and a real gem.

We called Bob to arrange a ride to Oakland airport at 3:30 Am. with Checkered Yellow Cabs.
He arrived promptly. We called him again when we returned from our trip and he picked us up from airport. Bob is friendly and professional and dependable. You can text him for ride and he replies right away. Best to call ahead to set up a ride.

Bob picked up my family of 4 with one large piece of luggage, one carry on, a booster seat and a car seat on time and got us to SFO in a timely manner on Saturday morning.

He was supposed to pick us up for our return home but his car broke down so we ended up taking a Lyft home.
