This restaurant was my first stop when I arrived in San Francisco. It was open on a weekday when I arrived. The food was great! We had delicious fried chicken wings, steamed pork buns, and a fish dish. All the flavors were just right. It was definitely a memorable dinner

I recently dined at this restaurant solely on the postive reviews I read online about their peking duck set, and it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish! The restaurant boasts an elegant, contemporary decor that creates a welcoming atmosphere.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Peking Duck set. The preparation of the duck was superb! The duck's skin was flawlessly crisp and paired well with their side of sugar. The duck meat was rich, savory, juicy, and perfectly tender! My favorite part of the set is how the duck was served with traditional Chinese style of delicate crepes, crisp cucumber slices, scallions, and sweet hoisin sauce. Putting all of the 4 components together always tastes heavenly.
My party and I did get a little greedy and ordered a little more than we should have like always hehehehe. The sichuan boiled fish and songshu fish fillet was amazing as well and a big recommend from us!! We managed to finish it all. The next time I come in, I will try their other specials on top of another peking duck set!
In addition to the delicious food I had, the overall dining experience was enhanced by the impeccable service I received. The staff was very attentive without being intrusive, and their recommendations were spot-on, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable meal.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 267228Jul 22, 20241 check-in
The $88 duck set:
The first course is fun, though it needs a salt or umami element to complement the fat and sugar. They just need to season that skin.
The second course is great. if I returned I'd hope to be able to just order this
The duck was moist with crispy melty skin and zero bone fragments
The pancakes were wonderfully chewy, and none tore
but if you run out of green onion or cucumber they charge $1.50 for extra which is pretty silly
The third course is kind of unexciting. A bit dry, a bit bland, needs some kind of sauce. They're just lettuce leaves onto which you spoon a room temp minced meat mix.
The fourth course was a vaguely ducky broth with mushrooms, very nothing.
Overal this experience doesn't inspire a second visit, it just inspires one to dine at another restaurant that also serves Peking duck setsHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 4383731Jul 21, 20241 check-in
TLDR: 4 course Peking duck for 88 dollars is why you should come here. (Just know it has to be called in the day before - you can't raw dog it). Parking sucks it's haight.
What we got:
4 course Peking duck dish - 88 dollars.
It's actually quite a bit of food. I think it could serve 4 people and not everyone would be stuffed, but would get a great tasting. Honestly my gf and I would have been good from the 4 course Peking duck alone.
Cucumber salad - free for yelp check in -
was tasty and flavor was good, but prefer them sliced smaller. No complaints for free.
Good for One - 25 dollars
This was a choose your own adventure combo deal.
For being in SF, thought this was a good value. You get to pick an appetizer, a main dish, and a drink.
We enjoyed all of these things no complaints.
We chose:
crab Rangoon(2pcs)
Honey walnut prawn (surprised by how much they gave us)
Diet Coke.
Decor: I don't usually care about the decor unless I like it a lot and tbh I actually really enjoyed it. It's a mixture of Hong Kong and hipster which sounds stupid but oddly works. I want this as a location for wedding photos.
Service: Our service was above average.
My only gripe: soda is 4 dollars. Not worth docking a whole point, but if I could give them a .5 I would. Tbf to them other stuff is moderately priced for SF.
I haven't had better Peking duck in a long time and you know of a better place I'd love to hear it. Their other dishes we tried pleasantly surprised us and we'd come
back even if we didn't get the duck, but who are we kidding. Why else would we come?Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jun 18, 20242 check-ins
I came in wanting a lunch! So sweet, nice space and beautiful interiorly decorated.
They luckily had a lunch special menu, for all party sizes. Very attentive and nice staff that helped me today.
I ordered the basil eggplant with chicken and shrimp, my sides were the chicken wings and I received a sprite all for that $25. I ended up adding the dumplings and Sake.
I would come again and invite a friend. Takes you away from the ever chaotic Haight Street. Wonderful spot to grab a bite, on your way to Fillmore or Haight-Ashbury.
Note: can see an intimate gathering being held here. I would ask owners for renting the venue space.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0 - 700148217Jun 15, 20241 check-in
Food here is so delicious, flavorful, and large in quantity. It has kind of cramped seating but the vibes are inviting. The service is overall a tad slow!
I'd highly recommend the boiled fish; it is so soft and spicy!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 17, 2024Updated review
We were celebrating lunar new year in here, such a holiday vibe with all red theme decorations! We ordered duck ahead and make a reservation for 5. The duck comes with 3-way-to-eat, regular duck, duck bone soup, and lettuce wrap. They are all so good! And authentic too! They also provide rabbit bun for rabbit year!

Visited this place on a recommendation and tried their 4 course duck dishes, they did not disappoint! Yes, I know I only posted 2 dishes but thats because by the time they started serviving I was already enjoying the meal and totally forgot to take a pic of the crispy duck skin plate and the duck soup. This place so far is my new fav for roast duck so of you're a connoisseur of duck like I am give YH-Beijing a try. Nice welcoming staff in a nicely layed out spot on Haight!
Big thank you to our server and the cook!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 27, 2024Updated review
Back for more duck! Also had the pea sprouts aa our greens, but it was too fibrous and got caught between my teeth.
There's free fried chicken wings as appetizer if you check-in here on Yelp. Unfortunately, they were greasy and bland.
Busy on the weekends, but service was still good. Paper dragon decorations adorn the restaurant as 2024 is the Dragon year.
We'll stick to duck when we're here!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 31, 2022Previous reviewMy daughter craved Beijing duck, searched online and pointed to YH.
We've passed by this place many times, but never went until after I called to reserve the 3 course roast duck dinner. Boy, were our taste buds satiated!
The duck skin's crispy, the meat moist, and the wrap nice and thin. The second course was the silky milky duck soup. Last but not least was a platter full of lettuce wraps generously topped with ground duck with crispy water chestnut. We lived in Beijing before, so our standard's very high, which YH met effortlessly. Sooo yummy!
Portions are large and we had lots of leftovers. The set is suitable for 3-4 people.
There's a lot of different dishes on their menu, so we're definitely coming back to try everything else! - Apr 10, 2024
I brought my critical Chinese mom here, and she liked it. The star is the Peking duck! You have to order a day ahead but they turn it into 3 dishes: duck lettuce wraps, the crispy duck with wrappers and a silky, savory, creamy duck soup which is my favorite part. The other menu items are also good and not too oily. Some items we order on repeat: Sichuan fish (very spicy), string beans, and dumplings.
The ambiance is cleaner and more attentive than your average Chinatown restaurant, but pretty simple.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 0
