Sometimes we must agree to disagree. Third meal out since my short dash to a foreign country, and I needed some Asian meals to balance my exotic palate and this was a good stop after a super long day at work, followed by a not too super long walk (across the park), and this was one of those spots that had open tables before the darkness has fallen.

When I was a younger person, the neighborhood I lived in in the South Bay was filled with Vietnamese Chinese immigrants. This coming from someone who's first port of entry was Los Gatos via San Francisco, felt superbly exotic. For instance, what is that noodle soup called? The menu is written in Chinese, English and Vietnamese, yet it looked neither familiar from the Chinese nor the American vantage point of view. One of the things that I grew to like was a noodle soup made with sate, which was their #8. It's the first picture on the top left and it's sate noodle soup with raw beef. The sate sauce is a bit like a dense version of peanut sauce, very heavy, yes, and super fragrant. My loverly and agreeable American companion chose one of those white people plate. A bowl of vermicelli with grilled pork and imperial roll. It does not get whiter than that. Not that I was complaining. It just seemed so predictable.

Added a bunch of chilies to go with my #8. It was super heavy soup so I didn't finish it but I made a good dent to it.

It reminded me those Vietnamese Chinese noodle houses that I frequented in as a younger person. And it did not disappoint. So yeah I'd say it's authentic, in that it's Vietnamese Chinese.

Unfortunately the person who did his typical white person ordering Asian food business did not agree with me, it was a meh moment for him but I think it's unjustified. I'd like to try other items on the menu. If anything, it's much easier to come to this restaurant and reminisce about my first encounter with this kind of food than actually to go down to the South Bay.

Another great luncheon at Yummy Yummy... we ordered our usual entrees and it's cooked to perfection with so much flavor. I'm a HUGE support for this restaurant. I'll drive from Concord to visit this restaurant while visiting my mom in SF. This is my GO TO place for Vietnamese food.

Thank you WILSON for cooking our meal. I love your smile and making me feel like a VIP. Your staff are great too. Keep up the great service to the community.

I can't believe I have been coming here for over 20 years! When you want to have some good food without all the fu-fus, and don't want to break your bank, you come here!
Love the shrimp cups and the crepe as always. It's extra good because they come with lots of greens!
I also like satay noodle soup (not pictured) with thick peanut/satay and juicy raw beef slices cooked right in the piping hot soup.

It's been a few years since we've been back but I recall I liked the chicken pho so I ordered it while hubby got the beef stew with egg noodle.
We shared an order of Imperial roll which tasted good and had large pieces of lettuce, mint to eat with it.

My chicken pho was good and had a good amount of shredded chicken in it. I added the sprouts, basil but skipped the jalapeños. Hubby thought his beef stew tasted more like ketchup and didn't like it but ate the entire amount nevertheless.

I couldn't finish the entire pho so took some home. I wouldn't say it's the best pho I've ever had but it's not bad. Staff were nice and fast with cleaning up.

It was a cold, grey SF summer day, so my friend and I wanted soup for lunch. Based on yelp reviews, we decided to give Yummy Yummy a try.
The place was bustling, but despite having a short waitlist, our server never rushed us. She was so kind. When she noticed my napkin fell from my lap, she bent down, picked it up and got me a new one. I didn't have to ask. (I actually didn't know it dropped, I was too busy gobbling down the appetizer.
We ordered Vietnamese dumplings to start. I had never heard of them. They were yummy, soft and tasty on the inside with a deep fried rice crunch on the outside. We almost ate them all before I remembered to take a pic. If you've never tried one, give it a go.
The menu is actually a booklet, with lots of choices. The table next to us had the steak tartar app, and by the sounds coming from them and the empty plate minutes later, I'd say that was a good app choice too.
My friend got the curry chicken pho. She let me try the soup. It was delish! Next time, I'm ordering that! I got the pork chop pho. It was a big bowl of plain noodles in my choice of beef or chicken stock (the server recommended chicken, so I went with that) with a healthy side serving of grilled pork chop. That was super tasty.
Portions are gigantic, so come super hungry!

Vietnamese pot sticker. Yummy yummy at Yummy Yummy!

Love this new pho spot discovery! The place is clean, cozy, good menu, and has the sweetest staff. We all got pho on a rainy day, and while it's not the cheapest (~$19), the flavor was great and portions large. I will definitely be coming back if I'm in the area again!!

I enjoy their service. They are awesome. Hard to find a parking space. Parked near Andronico for one hour. The satay, even though you ask little spicy, it was still spicy, but so good.

I came here with my parents today to celebrate Father's Day early. We ordered the tamarind crab $58 and tomato beef stew noodles soup with extra noodles $20. I highly recommend the crab and it's definitely yummy yummy like the store's name! The tamarind sauce is the yummiest sauce I've ever tried with the crab. I had the salt and pepper, and ginger butter sauces at other restaurants, but the tamarind sauce is the bomb! I'm slightly bias cause I love this sauce when my parents make steamed fish with it too. If you never tried the tamarind sauce before, it is slightly sweet and sour. I don't recommend the tomato beef stew noodles soup though. It's too salty when it's supposed to be more tomato and sour. Get the crab instead! They provide plastic gloves and the cracker tool to eat with it.

Soooo good. It's a pretty small restaurant but the turn around is pretty fast. There are 2 seats in the waiting area or you'd wait outside after checking in.

I got the bun bo hue and it was sooo flavorful. It was piping hot when it was served and still hot when I packed the broth to go. They even tried to make it less spicy for my friend and she throughly enjoyed it!

My parents wanted to come here for the Dungeness Crab which they're locally known for alongside authentic Vietnamese food. The Pho, Banh Xeo, Banh Mi, Com Bo Xa Ot all received high praise from our family for the large portions, fresh ingredients and authentic flavors.

      My go-to dishes:
Pho: The pho broth is rich and flavorful, and the noodles are cooked to perfection.
Spring Rolls: The spring rolls are crispy and fresh, with a variety of delicious fillings.
Cha Gio: This deep-fried egg roll is a classic Vietnamese dish and is definitely worth trying.
Vietnamese Coffee: The Vietnamese coffee is strong and flavorful, and the perfect way to end your meal.

The restaurant clean and well maintained but it is not very large and can get crowded, especially during peak hours. Parking in this area can also be a pain during peak dinner and lunch hours.

Yum this place has a solid menu and variety of offerings. Whether you're craving a bowl of pho, vermicelli, or rice plate they have you covered!

First off the place was absolutely packed on a Sunday night so make sure you put your name down. The staff is very pleasant and made sure to check on us throughout the meal. One person from our party accidentally dropped her to go order and the staff rushed over to help and offer a new box or bag.

We started with the fish cakes and imperial rolls which are always a hit. The fish cakes were bouncy and thick. While the imperial rolls were crispy perfection. I ordered the bun rieu which had a solid broth. It came with fried tofu and the classic crab meatballs. However their flavor leaned heavily into the sweet side which was something I was unfamiliar with. Sweet but still tasty none the least! My one qualm is I had wished there was more noodles. The vermicelli bowl comes with a generous portion and is loaded with veggies.

Will be back to try out more if their menu soon ;)
