The guys and gals at Z and Z are among the best, reliable, hard-working, and honest plumbing companies in the bay area. As a local real estate agent, I always need good vendors and Seif his crew will get your problem fixed efficiently correcty the first time.

I needed to change the location of my washer dryer hookup and spoke to Jade to make an appointment. Seif was able to come the same week to give a quote and I received the quote by email right away. Overall the quoting process was very easy and I feel that they would have done a good job based on Seif's professionalism and friendly attitude.

Ultimately I went with another company for the following reasons:

- Z and Z was more expensive by 12% on a $3000-$3500 job. I had to wait several weeks to schedule with the other company, but that was OK.

- Z and Z asked for a $1000 deposit. It's my understanding that California limits contractors' deposits to 10% or $1000, whichever is less. So I think the deposit should have been $345, but I don't know if plumbers follow the same rules. The other company did not charge me any deposit.

- The other quote was more detailed, including what type of pipes (copper) would be used.

They made it work! I have a new project for them to review now as a result! They came out assessed,, brought necessary parts, installed, and cleaned up afterward. Plus, just before major holiday? What a gift!

I had original sewer lines under my house, which were quite old, cracking, etc. I phoned in to the office and talked to Jay, who was very kind and helpful. We got going on the project, and although it took them longer than they thought, they got the job done. The workers were conscientious, polite and hard-working.

Called on a Friday for service. Scheduler was not sure if she could get someone out that afternoon but assured me someone will be out in the morning. I waited until almost 11am on Sat before calling. Receptionist did not have the ability to check the schedule, nor could she transfer me to a scheduler. She took all my info again like I was a 1st time caller and was told someone would call me right back. One hour later I call back. Same thing all over again. I explained I have been waiting since 8am and if they can't make it out today please let me know so I can go on with my day. Message escalated to a manager.

No call.... No show...

ALL I WANTED WAS THE COURTESTY OF A PHONE CALL!!

Don't have much to say, they resolved an issue that our tenant received before occupying the space and addressed it in a matter of a few hours. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants a quick, responsive and professional vendor.

I've worked with Z&Z a couple times now, first to replace a sewer lateral, and then more recently when my water heater went out due to basement flooding. I was fully expecting to be told that I needed a new heater and was bracing for a major financial hit. Instead they said they were pretty sure they could fix it, which they totally did. Didn't try to upsell me or anything, just got my hot water back online. Seif and his team are good, honest professionals and they get the job done.

Amazing. I called to state my issue, and Eddie and his team were out the next day to diagnose a broken water heater. I had a new heater in the morning after that. Super polite, very quick service, all around amazing. Would definitely call again for work that needs to be done!

We liked the plumber from Z & Z Plumbing who came out to assess our sewer ejection pump problem. His assessment was clear and thorough. My wife called the office three times over 10 days - for an estimate and Z & Z said they'd send it the next day.

Never got the estimate, so the two stars are for not providing the estimate. We would've understood, if they were too busy for our project and couldn't fit it in - but 2 - 3 promises of an estimate - and then not receiving one, wastes our time and theirs.

Polite but wrong when they came out about a clogged sewer line to the city lateral, but then they misinformed me that it was the city's responsibility. So I wasted an evening having the city come out, only to tell me that it is definitely the homeowner's responsibility. I try to get an appointment to have them come clear the line, but the earliest they can come is in three days, and they quote me $425 to video snake the line from an easily accessible clean-out (2 other plumbers were going to do it for $300).

Unwilling to wait, nor to be overcharged, I headed to the Berkeley Tools Lending Library, checked out FREE snake and (ultimately unnecessary) goggles, drove the small device back home, and did it myself in under an hour (incl. viewing an 8-min safety video about the machine to see how to do it)!

Moral of the story: if your sewer line or pipe is clogged (esp. women, whom plumbers notoriously gouge), save yourself hundreds of dollars and several days: do it yourself!
