We had popcorn ceilings in our living room which tested positive for asbestos. We didn't remove due to hassle of clearing our living room plus perception of being expensive. We are getting ready to sell our townhouse, all realtors we spoke with were unanimous that the popcorn ceiling is a liability when selling and we should get rid of it.

I reached out to several asbestos abatement companies. Z-Con's quote was very reasonable, plus with all the good reviews, I decided to go with them. I was not disappointed. The crew showed up right on time and did a great job. The underlying sheetrock was not damaged so texturing and painting the ceiling should be easy.

Colleen, the office manager, was patient with my questions and very responsive. The whole experience turned out to be less of a hassle and not as expensive as I feared.

I had my asbestos popcorn ceiling removed 2 days ago. Their price is 1/2 of the other two companies.

I had ZCon remove asbestos ductwork in my crawlspace. The team that came to my home was professional and effective. They first removed the boots and were careful to not damage my walls. They sealed up my vents and also sealed up a floor gap. Their containment was excellent and thorough. They accommodated an air clearance test and my schedule (I was going out of town for a few days so they left the containment up for many days). I am very happy with the work quality and they were also the lowest quote I got!

We have not actually started the work but so far the experience has been great. From the person who came to do the inspection for the quote to the Colleen in the office, everyone has been respectful, accommodating, professional and friendly. I'll have to update the review once the job is complete but so far so good.

I ended up going with Z-Con and am very happy with that decision. Colleen was super responsive and helpful, answering all of my questions. They had the most competitive pricing, handled obtaining the permit from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District at no extra cost (pass-through), and they were able to do everything in 1 day (710 sq ft).

They even went the extra mile and inspected the crawl space to make sure the HVAC system didn't also have asbestos, cleared out the asbestos spray material that was in the return air vent (even though that wasn't part of the original quote), and carefully removed the kitchen cabinet trim which was placed over the popcorn ceiling.

They needed 3 weeks time to start from the day we agreed and the crew came on time, did a great job in one day and cleaned the place.

They did a good job on the ceiling and the painter who came said the job was done well so it wont be too hard for him.

They sent me an invoice after the job was done and when payment was received a email confirmation of 0 due.

This company is very inefficient, I kept asking for the quote and I kept waiting for this quote to make decisions. At first they said before noon, then they said in the afternoon, after another call they said you cannot get it today...waste of my time...
