Jacqueline’s 5-star review: Going to the hospital... not an easy place to be ... but El Camino has put a lot of effort into combining high-tech with comfort and calm. We are going to Imaging today (I didn't take any pics of the nice office) , a forty minute drive through pouring rain, Highway lane closures, some road flooding. It's winter, so I am prepared but it does add to the anxiety. We are gonna be late, so we call. And the receptionist is efficient and kind, she readjusts our schedule to give us the extra minutes we need. This group is so professional and skilled that we get the diagnostics done. I am so grateful (but still rattled) that I am stunned. Thank you El Camino for being such a good place to come for services. -

Jacqueline’s 5-star review: This Community Non-profit organization, benefits low-income families by granting them the ability to own their home!! Requires that family members work on the new build, along with construction experts and community volunteers! This is a fantastic opportunity to learn building techniques and if you are a volunteer- to serve your community in the most profound way - "hands-on" approach gets volunteers involved in learning & doing on day one. People wanting to get a home they can love and afford apply to Habitat for Humanity. Corporations that want to find a way to serve their community/ have a team building exercise with their co-workers will enjoy this program. I have done this many times at work (Wells Fargo) and it's my favorite volunteer service. Learn more on their website! They have several places they build homes, and also work on many other projects. EXAMPLE: The neighborhood and Neighbors are HAPPY to get involved along with the future owners-- this old rundown SF home is becoming 8 units for families!! There are many Habitat "builds" all over CA and USA, the pictures show one project in San Francisco. -
Jacqueline’s 5-star review: Hospitals. It's often easy to find out what is wrong... so I understand harsh reviews. They are useful & that's great because there is the ability to improve! Mills has been around for a long time- and yet it is modern, tech-savvy and the doctors and nurses work as a team. Our stay is at Christmas-time. The most heart-wrenching time to be here. However, we have been happily surprised at the willingness to find out what is REALLY wrong. We are here for a cardiac issue, that means a BP check every 2 hours... that means lights on at 2am and 4am etc, with questions and possibly consultations. The staff and Docs are great! We appreciate their diligence and thoroughness. The meals are hot, tasty and well-prepared + big variety on menu. Delivered in about 30 minutes / or preorder. The Room is super clean and comfortable. I was invited to stay with my hubby- wow, a bed was made up for me! Variety oof rooms, clearly marked with cautions like "fall hazard" marked on the door. Nurse / doctor names are marked on a white board so changes are easy to see. I am so grateful that everyone explains what they are doing, in a courteous and thoughtful way. I am confident they will figure out the issues, but while that is on-going he is resting peacefully. this is the best place for him to be, safe and calm. Thanks Mills, it's our first time here, and you are super stars. -
Jacqueline’s 5-star review: Arrived on-time. We were at the Oakland West BART station, across the parking lot was the bus stop. Book ahead of time for the best rate- it varies. Nice group of fellow riders, queued up early to go to LA or SLO ( San Luis Obispo) ~$45 one way Oakland to SLo about 4 hours ride. There are several types of buses that come to this area- pay attention & have your ticket information ready. Glad this option is available.

Jacqueline’s 5-star review: Clean - oh what a relief it is!!! We went to the Opera- beautiful, thrilling. I t was easy! This BART & Civic Center can return to a great city. Not accosted, only 2 small groups of homeless, no urine smell! WOW SF can clean up! Thanks BART, and station agents, BART Police and the cleaners. Date: Sunday 11/19/2023 So grateful for a clean, safe city... the CITY I love. -
Jacqueline’s 5-star review: We met with Jimmy, he came to us and we did a walk-around our truck. That was a huge time saver for us. He determined the level of rust, dents & damage. We were concerned about body rust on the door and several places. He gave us an estimate of time needed and cost on the spot. Wow!! He did the initial work on the door-frame and body on-time and on-budget. Great Job- Yeah! Just so you know, we live "in the fog" and the truck is parked outside. So we really wanted him to look for other issues. He found a few problem areas but also the frame had rust spots. When Jimmy returned the truck, he showed us the other issues, and told us what he would do if it was his truck AND what we could do to fix the other rust areas. He had done such a great job on the first issues we decided to get the rust on frame fixed. He was able to remove rust and restore the truck frame to "like new". I really appreciate Jimmy's knowledge, and advice. His price was good and the convenience was fantastic. He is service oriented and gave us back a truck that will last many more years! -

Jacqueline’s 5-star review: Talented licensed masseuses, will get your muscle knots out. Two four bed (person) group areas also individual rooms available at a higher cost. I like the group areas. Price is $50 / hour, for "Foot massage" The actual massage includes 10 minutes foot soak then foot massage (blissful), back, arms, head scalp.... Full body. You can request gentler massage, or specify area that you don't want massage (like knee etc. ) uses shiatsu, stretching and hot stones techniques. Wear loose shorts and loose t-shirt and sandals. Your clothes will stay on, shoes /socks come off. Put your stuff in the individual cubby. Pleasant relaxing, dim soft lighting, clean place. Massage has always been great, sometimes I've asked for gentler touch or not on a shoulder. Really worthwhile to enjoy... I've been coming for years. -
Jacqueline’s 5-star review: Keeping older vehicles running can be challenging - and we have two that need care. We keep them running well here! The detailed sheets of what is need and what will be done, along with cost is so important and they always do a good job of prioritizing necessary fixes, written estimates time of completion status check-in and discuss option I'm really impressed by their service and appreciate their hard work. -

Jacqueline’s 4-star review: It's a busy place, one pharmacist and many staff. The also have a drive up window outside- that's a big help. There is always a line at the drive-up and inside at the Pharmacy window. Drop of your prescription and wait for 10-20 minutes or call it in. IF you don't pick it up in a couple days then they put it back and you have to start the process again! Sigh. Inside there are 2 lines. One line to put in your RX and one line for pick-up & consultation. You can use your HSA card to pay for prescriptions and Over-the-Counter Meds here. There are sometimes discount coupons given on items... but ... that coupon is for your NEXT visit and they expire. Do you forget these coupons like I do? I wish this was like Panera Bread, where they hold the discount and coupon in their database and will tell you get $$$ off!! That feels like a bonus! Don't give up, just allow a little extra time and you'll get the hang of it!! -

Jacqueline’s 4-star review: Gotta get to LA? Yes... but how. There are several ways to get there- Interstate 5 is one of the best. * It's fast, about 5 1/2 hours. * it's fairly flat AND straight * Michelangelo S. Writes a great Yelp post on the attitude you can adopt to do this drive WELL and arrive in one piece! ‼Watch Out for - poor road conditions... , call 511 for the CA Road advisory, open up your cells map app- it will give info too. Example: Today there is s high temperature advisory. Look at a map: decide where to refuel / charge, map to that stop - We go to Harris ranch for gas (expensive) and eat at Harris Ranch Express BBQ ( expensive and really good but Really Long Line on weekends / holidays) not kidding! It can be an Hour wait! We started going years ago, now it's a tradition... may have to rethink this, there are other places to go. I took a few pictures to help you get the Hot (111+ degrees) and desolate feel of this drive. Alternatives: You can take the Big Bus from LA to SF, cost varies ~$100, 8 hours. Charter a private jet!?! Drive with a friend -

Jacqueline’s 3-star review: Great camp ground, this is our second time staying here. Easy access to Yosemite from here, recent expansions have added services. Safe, pretty quiet, other campers are careful to clean up. You can hear the rushing river sound from your campsite! Ahhh... The staff is helpful and considerate- this place is a madhouse in the summer. Just sayin' - we came in mid-June and it was beginning to "ramp-up" so get organized, get you food and menu figured out BEFORE you come. The have a small area of essential items but not everything. Tents / campsites are close together- not touching-but within hearing distance. There are already set-up, standup very nice tent cabins- new, clean - reserve early!! The Showers: this would be a higher rating BUT... the shower water pressure AND temperature is inconsistent... this results in an icy and scalding shower, the knobs are not easy to use/ regulate. The showers are free and there are several. Please improve the showers- we'd be sooo happy! A pool/hot tub is available at the Next door hotel (affiliated with the campground)! The restaurant is closed - at least when we came) there is a bar/burger cafe next door. You WILL use a Bear box for food and sweet smelling stuff (gum, candy) unless you want to share your meals / tent with squirrels-jays - other rodents etc. and you'll disrupt the campground with your squeals & yells. Make a list- check it twice!! we forgot firewood & starter fluid... duh! -yes they have that! We enjoyed our campfire -Thanks!!
