Melissa’s 4-star review: Came here on a weekday at 3pm and it was empty, but this is definitely a number 1 spot for dumpling fans because it steadily got busier as our meal went on. No. 1 Dumpling has a true hole-in-the-wall look. Exposed kitchen and food storage but the food always reflects that hidden gem of a taste for homemade and delicious dumplings. We ordered a variety of dishes from dumplings, steamed xlb, noodles, chinese pancakes, and soup wontons. First off, love the choice to order your dumplings pan-fried or steamed. The dumplings all had a decent amount of filling inside and all the flavours were fresh. The dumpling skin was chewy and not too thick. I especially loved the pan-fried dumplings - not too oily and had a great crispy skin, moist and tender insides. Of course, don't forget to dip it in a little black vinegar for that extra kick of flavour enhancement! The Xiao Long Bao were packed to the brim of tender, meat filling and soup to the point you could see it peaking out at the top of the steamed dumpling skin. They were out of the Peanut Sauce Noodles, so we opted for the Spicy Noodles - nothing too special but the noodle definitely had a good level of spice to it. The Green Onion Pancake was a steal for $2! Not too oily, thin and golden brown but still had a good chew in the middle. I really enjoyed the Wonton Soup. Packed full of meaty wontons and the soup was flavoured wonderfully with veggies, chicken broth and seaweed. Overall, a really great spot with a good variety of dumpling choices and other asian dishes. It's true to its name - No 1 Dumpling!

Melissa’s 5-star review: Starting off this month's Fit Club at Ballet Lounge. Okay, I'm writing this and my legs and shoulders are still shaking from all the amazing fitness we packed in that session. First off, Suzy, the owner of Ballet Lounge is the sweetest, most energetic and inspiring Girl Boss! She worked so hard to create this safe space for all body types, all fitness levels and all women or men to enjoy the benefits of dance and fitness! Throughout this class, she was so supportive and helped us learn about the proper techniques and have fun learning about ballet. Even in a group, she gave each individual encouragement and helpful critiques! Professional ballet dancers make it look so effortless and beautiful, but you don't realize how much discipline, strength, endurance and coordination it is - and not to mention all the shoulder, leg and butt work-out! Suzy said I was vibrating - that's how much of a work out it is! However, the class was still a lot of fun and we were all smiling throughout the sweat and shaking. The space is beautiful with the floor to ceiling mirrors and I especially loved the lit up dance bar, which gave it such a unique and trendy vibe! Overall, everyone should have a taste if ballet and if you're a first timer, you can get an unlimited week pass for just $26! So point your toes and meet you at the Ballet Lounge! And a graceful curtsy always goes out to our wonderful CM Issabelle for organizing this event!
