Lauren’s 4-star review: Nice little market in my hood. If you are looking for some variety you have it here. They sell all kinds of "ethnic food" here. They have a lot of Middle Eastern products but they also carry a lot of Latin products which I appreciate. I like their fresh produce and they have a good selection of dairy and organic products. My new go to spot. Way better than Safeway. -
Lauren’s 4-star review: Sushi Zen is my preferred sushi spot on Taraval. Its within walking distance to my house so Im biased. I probably wouldnt go out of my way to come here otherwise. Out of all the Taraval sushi joints I think Sushi Zen has the freshest tasting fish. Never packed when I go, prices are very reasonable and the service is pretty good. Wish they delivered. -
Lauren’s 5-star review: Everything they say is true. No BS here. Im a female so Im not too informed about car stuff. All I know is the DMV said I needed a smog check last month and me being the procrastinator I am waited till the last minute. I called SS 76 and in 20 minutes I was there gettin her done. A short visit to the Walgreens and I was outta there. I had recently been told I needed new tires but I asked them and they said my tires looked ok which to me seems like they are honest. I will definitely be back. -
Lauren’s 5-star review: Just what we needed in this neighborhood. So nice to have some variety. Cool, unique decor. Friendly staff and a great tasting coffee. What more could you want? The last thing we need on Taraval is another Asian food restaurant. -
Lauren’s 5-star review: This is definitely my favorite place in the City to run. Im a little biased because I live nearby but it really is an amazing 4.5 mile run. I never have to worry about parking. There are plenty of bathrooms. I dont ever get bored because there are so many things to check out. Depending on when you go there are rowers in the water, people shooting guns at the range, little animals on the trail, golfers. It just makes the time go by faster when you feel like you cant go anymore. I have never had an issue regarding safety but then again, I never go at night. -
Lauren’s 2-star review: If I had to rate this place solely on the drinks it would be a 5 star rating. They have such a variety. It's amazing. What makes this place suck is the service. I ordered a drink and then attempted to order some fried shrimp. The guy behind the counter told me he wouldn't recommend it. Umm what? Yeah he said, it's too expensive and not good. Ok. I attempted to order another item. He doesn't reccomend that either. What do you recommmend then freak? After telling him ok I'll have what he recommends I wait around for ten minutes. I finally ask him how much longer and he tells me for what? He never put my order in!! After wondering what he was smoking I walked out with only my drink. At least that was good. Quickly, you are not quick Or very smart. -
Lauren’s 4-star review: I used to go to 24 fitness but I just stopped going to the gym because it wasnt enjoyable. It was always super crowded and I could never find parking. At first I was reluctant to join the YMCA because I thought the prices were a little steep. Once I went to tour the facility I saw for myself everything it has to offer. My daughter loves going because its a more family environment than other gyms. There is also a small playground for her to play in. She loves the swimming pool and its good exercise for me too. What I love about it is that there is always parking. They have an abundance of classes. I love the spin classes and they have plenty. I enjoy not having to work out with young juice heads who go to the gym to socialize and look cool. -
Lauren’s 4-star review: Cons are: Dirty dark sand Animals constantly washing up on the beach, for example crabs and whales. Usually cloudy skies Smell of above animals rotting bodies. No lights on the boardwalk for night time running Pros: Great place to run/bike You can check out the surfers doing their thing Its close , to me anyway the sound of the ocean good make out spot -
Lauren’s 1-star review: This place has really gone down hill. It is the only Mexican food in the area which is why it probably still gets business. Seems like management isnt doing too good of a job here. They should take pointers from the other Burrito Express on Divisidero. I realize they are always busy but the service is so slow. Seems like they have plenty of employees making food. They just arent that efficient I guess. 20 minutes for 2 burritos is ridiculous. They are never friendly and make you feel like they are doing you a favor by taking your order. Food is edible but nothing special. Weird combinations of ingredients though. What kind of tacos have beans in them? Just not authentic if that's what your used to. And dont let them fool you by their advertisement of free delivery. They only deliver when they want, which in my experience is never. -
Lauren’s 2-star review: For having a bathroom they get one star. For the one dark haired young lady that helped me find stuff another star. For their ridiculously over priced plants minus 3 stars. I can't believe how much I spent on cacti today. Oh and their orchids! Being an avid orchid collector, I almost sh-- my pants when I looked at the prices of their orchids. Highway robbery! You can go to the Flower Mart and get 3 or 4 way nicer orchids for the price of one. Won't be back. I would love to shop locally but not for those prices. -
Lauren’s 4-star review: I am a bit biased because I live next door to this park. I'm glad not many people know about it and that it's not in the middle of the City. There are never that many people around unless there is an event or the weather is unusually beautiful. I like to take strolls through the wooded part or take my daughter to the small park they have there. You can get a great workout but it can be a bit scary to go running in the woods even in day light. You may want to bring some mace. A lot of people use the part of the park designated for dogs. There is a big space for them to do whatever dogs do. -
Lauren’s 4-star review: Had my first slice last night. They are open late and I love that. The pizza had the right amount of cheese. The crust was crispy where it's supposed to be and soft where it's supposed to be. Prices are good and they deliver all over the Sunset. They also offer pasta dishes. Don't get the garlic cheese bread. Not the best. -
Lauren’s 4-star review: This place is a couple blocks from my place so I had to give it a try and was hoping it would meet my expectations. I went in for a massage after a really rough week. The place itself isn't that great. It's small and clean but nothing too impressive. That doesn't matter to me though. I look for customer service. My masseuse was Maribel. I could not have been happier with her. She was nice and made me feel comfortable. I appreciated that she didn't try to make conversation with me. I've had a couple massages where the therapist talks way to much and I can't even relax. Not her. She had a very soothing soft voice and encouraged me to take deep breathes. She was very therapeutic which was exactly what I needed. When I checked out the lady in the front was very nice also and answered some questions I had about facials. I would have given it five stars but it was a little noisy for what is supposed to be a relaxing experience. Yes I know nothing can be done about the loud, shaking public transportation. That I can live with. But when I can clearly hear the conversation in the room next door it kind of bothers me. I will be back and I will ask for Maribel again. I would also love to try a facial. -

Lauren’s 5-star review: Gotta love him! The owner is super nice and friendly. Always willing to have your clothes to you when you want them. Good quality work too. I've gone to other places in my neighborhood of Parkside and communication can sometimes be an issue due to language barriers. Not here. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Sunset/Parkside. -
Lauren’s 3-star review: Pretty tasty. It's literally a little hole in the wall. Dingy and dark but it gets the job done. Liked the chicken and corn dumplings and shanghai soup dumplings. Even though the place was completely empty, I had to grab my own menus and then go into the kitchen and tell someone I was ready to order. It's cheap and I probably won't eat in again. I'll just call in the order and pick up. -

Lauren’s 3-star review: Not the freshest fish. Doesnt smell or taste fresh. Seems to be pricey, which I wouldnt mind if it was great. Sushi Raw does have some redeeming qualities for me though, which keep me coming back. 1. They are close 2. They are open late and I tend to eat late. 3. They deliver. -
Lauren’s 3-star review: I chose Taraval Eye Care because of their location. They are within walking distance to my place which was very convenient. The staff were very helpful and professional.The optometrist I saw did an excellent job explaining everything to me and didnt seem to be in a rush like other places Ive been. It isnt the most up to date practice as far as technology. The last optometrist I had seemed to have the latest equipment and techniques for exam. The selection of frames could also be better. That is probably a reflection of the population it serves though. Not the trendiest of neighborhoods.
