patrick’s 5-star review: I listen to this station more than any other and they aren't always on the air. Mostly punk but you never know.

patrick’s 5-star review: Mr. Mechanic really, really knows his stuff. Every bottle in the place is worth drinking and the prices are lower than you'd expect from such a small place. Their tastings may be the best deal in town. Note: the name has changed to Arlequin. They ran into a trademark problem. Update: Neil Mechanic has moved on to Contra Costa but Chris Smith has things very well in hand.

patrick’s 5-star review: Not the best sushi place in the city but almost certainly the nicest. The fish is very fresh, the udon is top-notch and Shoko plays a mean avant-garde koto if your lucky. They also have quite the extensive premium sake offering.

patrick’s 5-star review: Best Pho Ga in the city. Homemade fresh noodles, perfect white chicken meat. This is North Vietnamese style so don't expect a rich anise-laden broth.

patrick’s 5-star review: The best Bahn Mi I've had in the city. As good as Saigon Sandwiches and very consistent. Only open until 6 or 7 so lunch it is. Bahn Mi? Mostly grilled meats (pork me!) with delicately sweet pickled veggies on a baguette. Sounds boring right. Wrong! $2.50 of sandwich perfection.

patrick’s 5-star review: Best antique store on the Central Coast. And my mom just happens to own it.

patrick’s 5-star review: Maybe the best produce market in town. It may not have much organic but the quality is consistently very high. This is one of very few places I miss in the Castro (see Amasia).

patrick’s 5-star review: You might be able to find a little better quality but you'd have to pay double. Yes, double. And the variety is outstanding, 4-6 tanks of clams, various shrimp, always crabs, oysters, mussels, always great catfish. And this is a real fishmonger - they'll cut up any fish, anyway you like.

patrick’s 5-star review: Amen. A record store that knows itself *and* dispenses with the attitude *AND* is small enough to know their stock and make a cogent recommendation?
