Lara’s 4-star review: Within walking distance for me, I'm sure I will be back! I am on a mom and pops restaurant kick and this place delivered. The owners seat you in the small quaint room and you immediately feel like you're in their home. Decorated like your nans, with doily table cloths and chiming clocks and real plants everywhere! I had the Brat with pierogies and sauerkraut. The brat was pretty good, but I wish they served it with a better mustard, no french's hot dog yellow for me thanks! The pierogies were really perfect, mine were fried (hubs were boiled) which I guess is chosen based on which ones you order, and the sauerkraut, I'm drooling just thinking about it! I wish they sold it in jars to take home. I love it on soup and salads! They sell frozen pierogies so next time I will take some home, and hopefully save room for dessert pierogies because they sound amazing! -
Lara’s 5-star review: Loved this spot, great friendly wait staff, warm ambiance. Went with a group and shared two platters, all the meats were cooked to perfection, lamb so tender, salmon not over cooked, nice shrimp. Is there anything better than greek rice and potatoes? Delicious! Little touches like peppers in the greek salad, not overly onioned, extra creamy hummus.On the way out we saw they've been voted best in burnaby multiple times, I'm not surprised! -
Lara’s 4-star review: I ordered the veggie pho and it was really good, a great veggie broth. Could've used some more fresh veggies but it was definitely tasty. Shared the spring rolls with my date, they were good as well! My husband ordered the satay soup and loved it. It looked amazing! Will be back when I'm in the area. Only disappointment was that it was freezing in this restaurant, I was in early December and every person in the restaurant was wearing their jackets, puffy coats everywhere including me. Turn up the heat! -
Lara’s 5-star review: Wow. I had never tried Ethiopian food before and I was not disappointed! This adorable mom and pops place had great friendly service, and everything I ate was so tasty. We did wait about an hour for our food, but we didn't mind because we weren't starving and we knew it would be fresh just for us! The lamb was incredible, just amazing. It was all really flavourful and tasty with out having to be spicy if you know what I mean. Just up the street from me, I will definitely be back! -
Lara’s 4-star review: Nice little spot, modern nice decorations and friendly people working here. I had the baked lasagna it was really good! The sauce was a touch sweet for me, but that's just nit picky I would order it again. Delicious side of fresh garlic bread. Local beer on tap which was great! Bubbly loud atmosphere when I was in which was nice, only thing is there is a massive (like 60 plus inch tv) which was beside the table I was seated, killed the vibe a little. I'll come back and try the pizza they looked delicious! -

Lara’s 5-star review: Such a gem! Friendly laid back atmosphere, comfy booths and the food was really good. We shared the salsa and goat cheese with chips, as well as the chicken soft taco platter. Rice was fluffy and nice, chicken tacos were great, on proper corn tortillas. Definitely stop in here, and the pizza looked amazing! -
Lara’s 1-star review: Update for take away/ pick up only. Frustrating. They take your call in order and ask for a time for pick up only to disregard and not begin your order until your pick up time when they process your payment. They don't have put call in orders on hold so I spent more than five minutes listening to it ring before anyone answered. Huge waste of time #1. Driving down to stand in line to pay for them to only add your order to the pile of orders for the restaurant eat in patrons and the take outs who paid before me lead to me waiting around for 25 minutes after my supposed "pick up time" they really need to do everyone a favour and not take any call in orders at all. Just be honest and say we don't do eff all with your order so just get down here to stand around in our tiny overcramped waiting area with all the other people we've lied to. I wish I could've tipped after knowing I would lose 25 minutes of my evening! The machine is set to auto tip on top of taxes starting at 15% . I feel ripped off that on a 100+ dollar order I tipped 10% to be jerked around. I can say 100% I will never ever order take out from here again. I'll eat in cuz the food is good but hot damn they swindled me tonight. Pass!! I confirmed the order twice and they still left out the oyster we ordered and paid for. -
Lara’s 5-star review: I was very excited to see this pop up on groupon. I've tried the other guys in gastown, I am so happy there is something out here in the burbs. The customer service here is 5 stars, so nice and not pretentious unlike others. Brand new facilities, super clean and the room was so warm when I came out of my tank unlike the other float place I have been to which was cold. Nice scented products to use in the showers. I'll be back for two more floats for sure, and I might just become a monthly member after that. I had issues using their on-line booking, and called in for great customer service over the phone. There were plenty of little extras, hair bands and hair spray etc. I love floating, give it a try :) -
Lara’s 4-star review: The sushi was so good here, fresh and beautifully made. The peach roll was so pretty, all the sliced avocado on top (with yam tempura inside) anything with the spicy mayo on it will be good, I tried the Philadelphia roll and the spicy scallop roll both yummy. Miso soup was average. Service wasn't good even though we were the only ones there, we were ignored for a while for phone orders. The food more than made up for it! If this was in my area I would be a regular. -
Lara’s 4-star review: Cute modern bright little coffee shop tucked away in an industrialish area. Very friendly staff, this place has good vibes in spades. My iced americano was perfect, I didn't indulge this time but the baked goods looked amazing! Close to my work so I will be back for sure. Very hard to find parking, but worth it once you do. -
Lara’s 5-star review: Love this spot for concerts! Saw Passenger here, it was amazing. So small and intimate, great sound acoustics and a totally unique venue show experience. Can't wait to see more acts here! -
Lara’s 4-star review: I see the reviews are very varied for this place. I am no Korean cuisine expert but I thought this place was great! Very friendly and fast servers. Couldn't round up a group so with just two of us we didn't order bbq but I am hoping to rope some friends into coming next time! We ordered the bibimbap (chicken) the jap chae and the steamed dumplings. For dessert we ordered the mango ice cream and it was so creamy and tasty. The sides were all pretty good (I do agree I wish the kimchi was spicier) the side potatoes and seaweed were really good, and re-filled once for us. Overall, everything was fresh and very flavourful, and for 35$ for the two of us we were full, happy with leftovers for lunch the next day. I'll be back to try the pork belly and hopefully the group menus for 4-6! :D -
Lara’s 5-star review: So organised and clean, with great staff/volunteers. Well curated, grouped, and the pricing is shocking after avidly thrifting at Salvos/Value Village. Smaller, but definitely only good quality and condition items. The clothing pricing is great! -
Lara’s 5-star review: I recently stopped in after not having visited in years, I am so glad I did. I bought my hookah and everything that goes with it here, great quality still years later. On a busy Saturday the staff made sure to help everyone, but also take lots of time with each person as shopping here is a lot of whats new what can I do about this etc. The staff here are amazing, so open and kind and if you're a worrier like I am, not snobby about how newb you are! Beautifully decorated, a great place to wander and stare like a museum, I like to admire all the carved and gigantic pipes. Gandalf would be impressed! -
Lara’s 4-star review: So tasty, I had the beef and it was juicy and perfect! The salad was crisp, and the saffron rice was good. Very laid back atmosphere which I enjoyed, the people running it were friendly. The aroma in this place is amazing! Well worth the foray into Richmond in my opinion :) Highly recommend! -
Lara’s 3-star review: I'm not sure how to rate this dog school, I am not thrilled nor am I unwilling to go back. My reactive 20 lb dog finished reactive dog classes 3 weeks ago. My husband and I worked diligently with our dog. He was asked to audit a class a few weeks before we enrolled, and he bought and read the two books she suggested before our class, a clicker trainer and pre-taught our dog what he knew was coming.I observed what others are saying here, Alice is not a people person, she is a dog person. I am okay with that, that's what I'm looking for, someone to help me with my dog. The reactive classes started with promise, but completely fell flat by the end. Every class we were doing the same thing, bringing our dogs in one by one and asking them to stand on various objects and feed them treats while they ignore something triggering in the room (custom tailored to each dog, ie a large dog in the room safely brought in by Rita, or a couple hugging an gesturing in the corner of the room with raised voices, someone using a walker with large wheels) We noticed some improvement with our dog in learning to "watch" us instead of what triggers him, but overall the main issue we have with him aggressive fear barking at people has zero improvement. Our dog becomes frenzied and the rescue Alice wants us to use, throwing piles of treats on the ground to distract him) has stopped working, and I believe reinforced that if he has a mental meltdown he will be thrown piles of treats. In our 6 week class there was no discussion of what the steps are beyond the bribe/reward. How do we transition to a well behaved dog with out fear of running out of bribes? It wasn't cheap or outrageously priced, but I am slightly hesitant to throw more money at something that isn't working that well. She mentioned a vet, and Alice thinks our dog needs medication for OCD. Maybe on meds, he will respond better to this class. I am on the fence. She is helpful with referrals, email answers and answering your questions. Will update after another round of classes, as my husband wants to try again with Dogsmart. -
Lara’s 5-star review: I am no hookah expert, and this is my first experience at a hookah lounge. I own one myself and have many friends who do as well, so not a total newbie either ;) The people running this place are so warm and nice! I was very impressed with the service and hospitality. It was packed when I entered, and I immediately felt transported to some vacation spot. Great décor touches and lighting. Prices seemed great to me and I enjoyed a delicious fresh mint tea. Great casual atmosphere, after a while one of the long couch lounge spots opened up and that was quite a fun experience. Much better than a table! I will definitely be back, a very fun social experience. The woman helping us thanked us for coming, asked if we had a good time and said she hopes we will return. Sounds normal as I type it, but the warmth and how genuine she was doesn't transfer well to this review, come here you wont be disappointed! -
Lara’s 4-star review: This small, cute restaurant was really nice! Went with a few other couples and had a great meal. The decor is nice, and the food is tasty. our friends (who are regulars) said the food would be so spicy we would cry. We love spicy food and ordered as hot as they could make it, but I would say it was medium at best. The presentation here is beautiful, and the owner came out and chatted with us for a bit. Worth the drive in my opinion! -
Lara’s 4-star review: Wandered out this way for a friend, this cute little restaurant is tucked away in a small strip mall. Lots of parking and thanks to a reservation we were seated right away. We waited 10-15 minutes before tracking down a waiter to take our order, but the rolls were all soooo good! The gyoza were some of the best I have had. The presentation is all immaculate here. I was pleasantly surprised to see Ceviche on the menu, we had the scallop and it was so flavourful and fresh. The plating is really artful. If your out this way you will not be disappointed here! -
Lara’s 5-star review: Oh my goodness. My evening here was perfection! The decor is beautiful and minimal, I adore open kitchens where you can see the goodies getting made! We sat at the bar because it was pleasantly busy. I think the owner was the one taking our order, he was so friendly and after taking our order made suggestions and re-arranged it for us because we said "whatever you suggest!" We both had a few of the 33 Acres cilantro wheat pints, so amazing! We shared the tabbouleh salad which was fresh and tasty. Had to have the trio of hummus, ours was regular, coffee (which was really good!!) and strawberry mint (hubs fave) the texture was creamier than I was used to and it made me want to buy them to bring home! We also shared the Shish Tawouk which was so juicy and the yogurt it came with for dipping was so tasty, garlic and lemon I think. The fish kebabs were the tenderest flaky black cod, I can be picky about fish and this was melt in your mouth incredible. The Makali (fried cauliflower) was soooo tasty. Everything we ate was flavorful and cooked to perfection! Hubs left thanking me for bringing him there, haha. The waitress and owner who looked after us were so nice, I will come back to try more for sure! -
Lara’s 4-star review: I had great service and the food was good, priced quite reasonably! I had the smokie and poutine and it was delicious. Perfect gravy and I loved the slaw in the smokie. Hubs had the daily special which was a chicken pot pie and fries, i tasted a bit of the pie and it was perfect. Nice chicken morsels and lots of flavour not too creamy (I usually hate that in pot pies) Cute little place to watch the game!

Lara’s 4-star review: After living near this place and driving past it a zillion times we finally decided to try it. Holy moley are the Bavarian filled sugar doughnuts good! The fluffy like plain knotted doughnut was delicious! Definitely visit here for a sugar fix :) -
Lara’s 4-star review: Still a great spot for a speedy casual bite to eat. They move the big line ups fast and the food is always good. I can't speak to authenticity as I'm not from California :P but if you want fresh tasty food its good. There's a great play spot for little ones, but it gets a bit over crowded in here. Last time I was in it wasn't possible to walk to the bathrooms because high chairs were blocking the doorway, the layout could use a little work (although they are just trying to get lots of people in which I appreciate too!) Fast casual dining is some of my favorite and this place doesn't disappoint. -
Lara’s 4-star review: Wow, really really tasty food! Hubs ordered the lamb chops and his plate looked delicious, really good Greek food. I had the chicken joojeh which was probably the juiciest tenderest chicken I have ever had (no lie!) owner was our server and he was very friendly. We shared the saganaki to start, can't go wrong with fried cheese! Nice new restaurant that's decorated fancy/high end. My only disappointment was the pita, we watched it get opened and plated. Just the usual thin stuff you buy at save on for lunches, served cold. I guess I was hoping for warmed up at the least, and home made or higher end at the most! Overall, I will be back, and very curious about the catering pricing for big family events! -
Lara’s 5-star review: Since my last review, we had a private event here for my parents wedding anniversary. The event planning staff were amazing! Helping us come up with a canape menu, setting up partial walls so we could have the whole cafe for our party. Since they have decorations and artwork everywhere that they sell it needed very few decorations from us! Perfect. Also, even though they are attached to a florist they never batted an eye that we brought in our own flowers, we decided to spend our budget on food and drinks! Everyone loved it, a nice summer patio event and someone else to take care of the food and clean up, I wish I knew about private events here earlier! -
Lara’s 4-star review: We came here the other night craving pasta. The place was regular amount of busy when we got there, until a group of 40 showed up. Some sports tourny group in pjs. The service was then slow, those poor waiters were running around trying to appease all these obnoxious teens demands! I have to applaud them, they served them, gave me their check and didn't even make a mandatory tip. We asked our waiter why and he said he figured they would tip. He was literally sweating from all that running! Needless to say, they comped us all free desserts for being patient :) this place is awesome! Class act. -
Lara’s 4-star review: The great reviews brought me in, and I agree that this place is great! I had the chicken donair with fries. The woman running the place was friendly and relaxed, and our food was fresh and tasty. The fries were soooo good, sprinkled with seasoning salt and fresh cut in house. Everything held together well and it wasn't too runny and saucy like some other places. Value for price is really good here! We will definitely be back. Hubs had the lamb donair and he agreed it was all drool worthy (though I didn't try his) A new fave spot for me! -
Lara’s 3-star review: The pro's Interesting decor and atmosphere Fresh spices on the food The con's Slow service, and I was here when it was nearly empty somewhat overpriced Friendly staff, just not around when you need them. Fun decorations that make you feel like you're on vacation. Food was pretty tasty, but at 20$ a plate grossly overpriced for the tiny amounts of meat they include. I understand their rent must be $$$ nice neighbourhood, but hard not to feel swindled a little. I agree with the poster that said this is a fun one off visit kind of place. Lamb was tender and flavourful, beef was nearly non existent and fine ground chuck, if you're ordering the aushak get the veggie, there's no meat on the afghan aushak anyway and it'll save you three dollars ;) desserts sounded great, I don't think I'll be back but I'd suggest saving room! I love rice pudding though. -
Lara’s 5-star review: Beautifully decorated, great lighting for ambiance. Local beer on tap, and every food item was fresh and delicious. Started with the chips and dip, so good! Shared some tacos, the fish was light and fresh, the beef was really tender and juicy. Ordered way to much and left full satiated and with leftovers :) I'll be a new regular for certain.
