  • Hike around the near 7 mile perimeter of the park and hit the woods, the beach and tons of scenic stops all along the way. Parking is $8, though can be free if you have an Empire Pas ($80 for all-season day-use entry to most Stake Park facilities.)
  • Come to The Sands Point Preserve Conservancy and enjoy the beautiful Medieval-eque forest trails, stone bridges, sweeping views of the Long Island sound and a castle overlooking the water. Yes, you read correctly... we're talking a full on castle of all castles. Hike, have a picnic and even visit inside the sprawling mansion.

    Perfect for a short, semi-challenging yet super enjoyable hike. Trail tip: You'll find the start of the path via a blue marked tree, located directly to the right of the waterfront boathouse. You'll encounter sand, dirt, loose gravel (and maybe mud) and there are no hills or rocks to scramble.
