Harsha’s 4-star review: Went on a Friday (reservation recommended). The restaurant doesn't seem like it would belong in that area which feels kind of industrial, but the restaurant itself is very nice, clean and well kept! It does not feel crowded either and I enjoyed having some space from other tables. Service was very friendly, timely & water was refilled often. Beef carpaccio ($18) - nice flavour & texture, good combination of other ingredients - a few more beef slices would be nice! - probably would not order again because of the price but was nice to try Fettuccini scallop uni cream sauce ($23) - came hot & with good amount of sauce - nice presentation & garnishes - came with 2 small scallops and several mini ones. The larger ones were a bit tough and could have been browned better - pasta noodles were very nice and chewy, the sauce stuck well to them but was not glommy - portion was very reasonable especially for the price. Only wish there were more of the larger scallops and that they were more tender Would definitely go back, menu looks very promising and it is definitely worth checking out -

Harsha’s 4-star review: Really nice spot, clean, great friendly service and good food. Cucumber salad came in a very generous portion and was great to share with 4 people. The other cold dishes look great too Lamb dumplings had a delicious filling inside. You didn't need any vinegar or soy sauce because it has a very unique flavouring. Even lamb haters should try this because it doesn't taste gamey. Give it a try Big plate chicken had delicious hand pulled noodles underneath, nicely balanced sauce and portion of other ingredients like potatoes, peppers. The chicken in this dish does keep the bone in but in this restaurant was very simple to eat and well flavoured! Beef leghman was super good, I enjoyed trying this in addition to the other wider noodle in big plate chicken. I wish I could have eaten the whole thing myself and didn't have to share Would definitely go back. The server was very friendly and happily shared a bit about Uighur language & culture. If you live in the area, consider yourself lucky! -

Harsha’s 4-star review: Pretty good, was really impressed with the quality of fish for the price and there's nice variety on the menu. The perfect place for raw fish lovers. It was really nice they let us in super early when we arrived way before our reservation. This is really picky and most people won't care but for me personally I wish the rice under kaisendon tasted more japanese, with more rice vinegar instead of sesame oil & seaweed flakes. I know this is minor to most people but it kind of takes away from the fish. For some reason they give out a lot of free stuff? This happened to me twice because they had a minor mess up each time. But they gave us hot yuzu tea to go and other tables as well I think. Friendly service but they should come to talk to you about the menu after being seated for. The drinks were free which was super kind but they were very sweet to the point where I didn't want to drink it. Lots of good things about this place though, I'm just picky. I will definitely go again and again -

Harsha’s 4-star review: They don't do reservations but my table for 2 was able to get in on a Thursday just before 7pm. The food came very fast, hot and was prepared very well. KFC chicken wings in soy garlic sauce were soooo good. Perfect balance of sweet to salty without being overly sweet. Loved that there was a generous amount of sauce at the bottom to pour over our chicken. Gamjatang was amazing. Broth is slightly thicker than some other Korean soups, and is a bit starchy and meaty from the potato and pork bones. The amount of large bones was generous and is perfect for people who love picking meat off the bone. Not much work is needed since it is cooked to be so tender. (Looks a bit dry in the pic only because we were working on other dishes and didn't get to the soup for a while) Pork belly was also quite generous, very thick cut with good amount of meat and nice ratio of meat to fat. Very nicely seasoned. Service was very friendly and attentive. My only complaint is that the table is extremely small for 2, even for small people. It is difficult to eat comfortably and move your cups, chopsticks etc around because it feels like you will knock something off the table. We had to stack a lot of our things because there is literally not enough room to put everything they give you on the table. Next time I'll go with 3+ people to get more table space -
Harsha’s 4-star review: Have been coming for 10 years, has always been a very solid choice. Great to have a nice meal or take out of town visitors. I have never had any problems, but my last visit in June was a little surprising Tuna tataki was surprisingly very thick and jagged, not nicely cut. The onions it came with were also chopped messily and not dressed. Obviously not a huge problem or deal breaker, but I was slightly taken aback by the lack of care that I've always had at kingyo. The teishoku grilled fish sets were good, blue fin tuna lunch set very good especially for the quality and price point. The tantan men was generally good, but I would expect something a little more special from a place like this. Good service as always, will be back as always PS, if you can't get a table, go to Damso for Korean food next door -
Harsha’s 5-star review: This place is so good that it can't stay "downlow" for long. DL chicken has a hip and welcoming vibe, their playlists always get me pumped while waiting in line. Best chicken in Vancouver, always piping hot, flavour packed but not over done, and a good variety of items. The menu isn't extensive but isn't limited either. Nice that they have special days like wings Wednesdays. Overall fun place to eat at, fun food to eat, service is always good. -
