Go to this warm indoor pool at Hearst Gym located on Bancroft near Telegraph Ave.  It's built by William Randolf Hearst's mom. Simply beautiful and classy in there. It's a classic Roman style pool with marble floors. If u really decide to go let me know since I know people who work there... Just don't cause any trouble in there.

Ahh.... Got kicked off the Internet while responding to this post. Anyway, the pool is reminescent of Hearst Castle.

No problem... surprised anyone came back to the thread :)

Tried out the Berkeley YMCA on Sunday... was decent.  Will try out hearst gym this weekend maybe.

  1. I second the YMCA. The membership price isn't too steep when you get financial assistance. I used to swim all the time, but finally gave up and moved to running and weight lifting because the pool was always so unpredictable.

Sometimes you'll have our own lane or sometimes you'll share it with 3 other people... and there's no telling when. Just really inconsistent. Also, some of the older people can get rude and won't even share a lane.
