Hello Yelpers!
I have a fun tradition of spending my birthday in a different city each year, and this year I'm going out in Burnaby! I have all of Monday, May 9 to do whatever I want to in Burnaby.
So.... any recommendations on dinner, drinks, activities? I was thinking about going to Trattoria for dinner (I have a GC) and then heading over and spending the night at the Grand Villa Casino.
Yay or nay? Either way, I need help.... I've only started working in Burnaby in January and haven't experienced it at all besides my business park.
Thanks again!4/14/2016 -
Any particular type of food you want? Thai? Greek? Japanese:-)? And price range. There's some nice restaurants on Hastings too. The Pear Tree is really good, a bit pricier. There's also Broken Rice ( Vietnamese ).

I used to work in Burnaby, the change in elevation can be a pain sometimes...But overall, I enjoyed my time there.
I remember wanting to try Burnaby Mountain Clubhouse after they won the DINE OUT VANCOUVER event.4/14/2016 -

Well, avoid the heights. Almost everything on that stretch of Hastings is closed on Monday. If it wasn't a monday, I'd always suggest people to go to Glenburn Soda and Confectionary for sundaes and malt shakes and what not.

Andrew - I'm excited to try any type of food. Nothing too expensive, but a place with a decent decor, and ideally not a hole-in-the-wall.
Ex & Annie - Thanks for the suggestions and the cautions. I know Mondays are really hard to get anything decent when it comes to entertainment. Oh well... not all birthdays can be ragers.4/14/2016 -

Check out Potters Garden on Kingsway! Korean BBQ is a fun thing to do... If you're not a vegan or vegetarian

There is a place called... Fraser Park, but you have to take the 116 from Metrotown to get there. Giant Breakfasts and Lunches there. I am pretty sure there is vegan options. Only problem is that they are open for breakfast and lunch

There IS an escape room in Burnaby. ..pretty far out on the edge of Burnaby, but it's called Krackit

If you go to The One, and stay in instead of take out, their slushed bubble teas are MASSIVE. The food isn't bad either.
