I feel compelled to share my recent experience at Sushi Naper on Rte 59 in Naperville. I know the owner very well and began dining with her over twenty years ago at her establishment in Darien so this particularly difficult. I brought my son and his play date there after a wonderful morning at Funtopia. I was asked if I would be dining off the menu or AYCE. I asked if there was a lunch price and was told that the 29.99$ dinner price was the same for lunch. I then asked if it would be 90$ for myself and two seven year old. They said that the children would dine at a discount so I agreed. All said and done the bill was 70$ for three orders of chicken nuggets (4) one order fried scallops (4) and they had two bottles lemonades. I ordered seven pieces of sushi, and an order of edamame for the kiddos. When the meal was complete the server came over to tell me that if I did not finish the rice I would be up charged. I explained to the waitress that I recently had gastrointestinal bypass surgery and the last three pieces of sushi i separated and elected to eat as sashimi. She explained to me that she did not care and if I did not eat the rice that I would be charged more money. At this point my son and his friend were visibly scared by the confrontational behavior of the serving staff. I went on to explain to her that if I eat the remaining rice it would "blowup" in my post operative stomach and I would vomit. She reiterated to me that she did not care and I would be charged. The diners to my right were watching the exchange mouths agape. We spoke briefly and then the hurriedly forced down the last few pieces of their roll. I went on to find out on their webpage that the AYCE on the weekends is supposed to be discounted at lunch from 29.99$ - 26.99. Need less to say we will never be going back. I never leave Yelp reviews but I feel like in this instance someone might be spared a ruined afternoon.
