Some of you may know that I have a small BBQ service business.  Im considering having my car "wrapped" to promote my business (example carwraps.net )

Just curious, do you feel this type of marketing is effective?  If you saw me driving my car wrapped in orange, blue and white would you be curious enough to visit my website?  These things are not cheap either...I was quoted $1200 for this.

    Your opinion is appreciated!

  1. If it was a food truck, yes. If it was a normal passenger vehicle, no.

Visibility is generally always good for a business plus won't the 'wrap' protect your paint job anyway?

I saw a VW beetle wrapped in a "kerrygold" skin.  it made me inquire what that was so I looked it up, saw the product at Trader Joe's and bought some buttah!  So yes it was effective for me?

Do you know what people charge to have a billboard? This is your mobile Billboard just make sure to use the KISS technique
KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID! Throwing up way to much info will loose the message and the point of doing this type of marketing. Rule of thumb is you grab peoples attention for 3 - 5 seconds so make sure message is clear....

Yes, I can absolutely tell you that this is an effective means of marketing from my personal experience.

where I work we have 6 vans and trucks wrapped with our logo and phone number. When asked how they heard of us, I consistently have people tell me, "I've seen your trucks around." One of my neighbors called my business after seeing me park the truck outside my house for a year.

it's a bit subversive... it may not have immediate effects but it will pay off. And consider this - wouldn't advertising with yelp (for example) cost $1200 for just four months?

Magnets get lost. I suggest Lettering but have it done right... Like Decals.... I do marketing so if you need any ideas or need to find a good place hit me up...

I would hire me to do more to your website... Then get the wrap upon completion.

oh damn, thanks PHOH. I shoulda known that from eugapalooza.

I kinda dig the website, and now I get more of an idea of what the wrap would look like. *sigh* Am I in Hawaii yet?

I think for some type of businesses, it works.  For example, custom auto stuff like dent repair, clearbra installs, tinting, or alarm/stereo repair.  Or, catering services too.

Very effective--even on passenger cars.  (Several guys I know raced with wraps and if it can stand track abuse it can stand street abuse).

I notice them.  Why not?  They are somewhat permanent though.  I mean if you're using the same vehicle to take the wife to the ballet.....

she is going to make you drop her off at the corner.
