I was just informed that its customary to get my grooms man and best man a gift for being in our wedding party.  I've figured out a gift for my grooms man but cant think of anything for my best man.  Any suggestions???

    Here are the parameters:

Should be in in the neighborhood of $100 to $150
It should be an actual item not an experience (ie. a night at the strip joint or a round of golf...although he would like that)
He's a Air Jordan collector, poker player, loves cars, football and movies.

He's your best man!  You should already know what he should get!

    * watches  are the best gift by far *

  1. I've never heard of this, but maybe a manly gift given that he's doing man duty.  A high-end flask, cocktail shaker, poker set, set of dice, television caddy?  $100-$150 is so wildly impractically expensive that it'll be better than anything that any guy could reasonably buy for himself.  There are stores that specialize in this kind of thing.

one of those shirts with the sleeves cut off that guys wear when they play football.
    no, not a jersey.
just grab one of his favorites and cut it.
then stick in a gift bag with some tissue.

This is yet another ridiculous 'wedding tradition' dreamed up by the 'wedding industry' in the last few years.

A hearty thank-you and free whatever-he-needs-during-the-wedding (food, drinks, tux, etc.) is plenty! Ah, heck, he probably should pay for the suit as a gift to you. That's the tradition I know (women pay for their own bridesmaid's dresses, right?).

  2. I was given an ipod with "thank you for being my best man" engraved on it.

Though honestly - I loved but would have been just fine without it. If you have the cash for it, but if not, no need. I don't think guys care about this stuff as much as some women.

You can get engraved watches. Skagen has some really nice ones for under $150 and they do a good job with engraving a logo or message you would like.

Could've sworn that I replied to this already, but I can't find my post so...

Bellagio sells poker chip sets as used in their casino.   They have a gift shop on-site called Essentials at 702-693-8795 that should be able to hook you up.

The ipod's a great idea;  the newest nanos have the Nike+ receiver built in for running and exercise.

A really, really nice bottle of Scotch or Tequila would be good, too.

    Have a great wedding!

  5. High end wallet. Plain, simple to the point and something to keep and use for years.

What about a nice Football jacket with those leather and wool combos from his favortie team? Aren't they in a price range that might work? (Although it is end of the season....) A Nike store gift card...he can pick out his own Jordans or whatever.

    -Autographed football
-Real poker chip set (not those lame plastic ones) or a fold out table.
    -High-end car buffer

Might as well play to his interests.

I never knew there was a set amount for the gift? Does it need to be $100+? Or is that more of a thing "you" want to do and have the budget for?

I think the high end wallet is a excellent choice. Money clip is kind of ghetto bling in a way...but also might be cool to him.
You know your friend better than anyone here.
