1. I have a 3-year-old that stuffed tons of TP down the toilet.  Plunge, plunge, plunge and the drain cleared, but then the toilet developed a leak/lose seal and leaked into the kitchen below when it was flushed!

I had a contractor who was going to repair the leak/lose seal and then re-tile the shower/floor and install a pocket door to update the bathroom a bit.  After a month of planning and chosing materials, he flaked and left the country for a month.  The work was supposed to be complete before an out of town guest arrives this Thursday.  Obviously that's not happening, but I need the leak fixed and can't get a plumber to return the call.  I'd also be interested in getting another estimate on the other work that needs to be done.

Call a handy man service instead of a plumber.

By "contractor", you don't mean a licensed one, apparently. If he were,  you'd have recourse.

Anyone can fix a wax gasket.  Make sure they don't overtighten the toilet bolts and break your toilet.  They should also double nut the bolts so they don't inadvertantly knock them out of alignment while they are setting the toilet in place.

Is the water leaking from underneath the toilet?  If so, my guess is you will need to reinstall the toilet because the wax ring underneath the toilet is no longer doing its job.  It is not a hard thing to do and I think a handyman can do this.  Try the Fernco wax free seals.  They work much better and are available at Lowe's.
