I am in search of a honest, reputable auto mechanic in the Tri-Valley area. I know this might be kind of like searching for the illusive big foot or unicorns, that said I still hold out hope that this type of business does exist. Any recommendations for a good, honest, and reasonable auto mechanic would be appreciated.

In Dublin area I suggest Advantage Automotive. Check the reviews and decide. I've been going to him for years and send my kids there too. I am a shade tree mechanic so I keep an eye out for mechanic b.s. he's never even come close to doing that. Highly recommend. Final thought: car techs like computer techs will always leave the feeling of "did I really need that fix or was I worked" for people who do not know these worlds intimately. The best u can do is find someone highly recommended and try to not think too much after the fact. :-)

Lloyd's engineering in Oakley, if you need any engine work done, have him do it. He rebuilt an engine for me. Great guy, runs a solid shop that does quality work. I know many people who have had work done by him that are very happy with him. He comes very highly recommended by anyone who went there, as well as other mechanics.  I see his name on the sides of a few dirt track race cars.
