I am visiting Friday Harbor in a few short weeks for a little weekend getaway. I know the weather will be crap and I am actually taking the trip alone but I'm a busy grad student and just need a little break and change of scenery. I found a super cute place to stay that I am excited about but want some restaurant and things to do in rainy november tips! Suggestions, thoughts and ideas welcome!

Friday Harbor is a small town and you can pretty much figure out what is good or not.  The majority of restaurants and bars are good, but I heard stay away from the Chinese Restaurant.  Even though the weather will be wet, it still is a pretty place to visit.

If the weather is even somewhat nice out (read: not raining), I would rent a scooter or a scooter car from Susie's.  You can google the website, but it's walking distance from the ferry.  The little mini car things are cool and you can circumnavigate the entire island then in about 3-4 hours stopping to see just about all the sites on the island, Roche Harbor, English Camp, Limestone park, etc.  There is little to zero traffic on the island and it's an affordable way to see it all if you don't have your car.

Otherwise, there is this great 3 story bar, can't remember the name, right on the first main street in town that has several outdoor balconies and looks down on the sound.  They serve affordable tasty beers and good mussels.  Cheers!
    Oh yeah....dress warm!
